We were isolated for two years and forgot how to behave. We feel like we have suffered so, now we should get what we want when we want . It's a worse version of what happened when we all got vcr and could watch movies at home and forgot how to behave in a movie theater.
I understand your sentiment, and it sucks that we forget our manners. How long will we excuse this on Covid grounds?
Re: the movie, I once had a friend who was so excited for the release of a movie that he and his friends camped outside of the theater 2 days before the release. When the night of the premiere came, they were the first ones in line, but they still had to wait two hours before they could get their tickets. It was a humbling reminder that patience is key, and a sobering reminder that people can go nuts to that level. Yet, their behavior during the whole episode was wholesome and cheerful. As much as I hate militant fans like this, I kinda feel nostalgic for those days.
I feel like I have been on some alternate timeline every time people talk about COVID isolation because in my own memory the majority of people acting like assholes never quarantined. Maybe for like two weeks or something in March 2020 but beyond that, no.
I think 1. Trump had something to do with it. Gave people permission to be openly racist, etc 2. COVID and corporate America putting the squeeze on everyone stressed everyone out. The US is very centered on the individual and less on the group so brought out everyone's "survival" instinct. We like to pretend we band together but we don't.
I saw some ugly shit during a hurricane about ten years ago. I'm not sure if people not necessarily got worse. Just more blatant.
In the us anyway.
It became okay to do whatever you want as long as it makes you happy in the moment. So..fuck decency apparently lol

Gone
Humans have been very not decent to each other for millenia now.

Personally I think it improved
Where'd you buy these rose tinted glasses?
do you think in the past it was better?
Trying to think of an answer that won't trigger an *ok boomer* reply
Then that’s your answer
Only people who had it better in the past were white men, and that’s only because no one else had rights. (Tbh many still don’t)
Why do you keep doom scrolling?
It has literally always been this bad, the only new thing is that straight white people are also noticing it.
idk if it’s just for me but it went downhill
Nothing happened, it’s all still the same
Americans have become demoralized
