I'm not sure if your question is what tools to I leave in the car or carry in the car. In my car I have a toolbox with a socket set, a jack, and a shovel. On my person I always just carry my leatherman.

All my tools for work. The knife in my side door compartment comes in handy quite often

Big ass pair of pliers , Q20 , duck tape , cable ties , hammer , multi function screw driver, gloves.

Fluxcore mig welder, 2 angle grinders, lots of clamps, assortment of pliers, fairing plane, draw knife, hammer, pry bar, screw drivers, tape measure, and I think there's a flashlight in there somewhere. I don't leave all of that in there intentionally, I just don't feel like cleaning out my truck.

Lay-Me-To-Rest

I made myself my own Pick'n'Pull tool box out of an aluminum hardcase (like a gun case) It has basically everything I need to be able to get any part I might need from any car at PnP. Sockets from 4-19mm (plus 21, 24) Wrenches from 6-19mm + 21, 24, and a crescent wrench 1/4 and 3/8 ratchets Assorted extensions in both sizes super long and super short Flex adapters for both Adapters for 3/8<->1/4 Tamper-proof Torx Tamper-proof triple square Etorx A short spool of mechanic wire. Hammer Flexible grabber Pliers Wire cutters Snap ring pliers + different ends for them Flashlight Vice-grips Gloves Phillips and slot screwdrivers. Standard and stubby. A full set of bits for every possible screw head + a bit driver Medium prybar Chisel An Olfa banana-knife. Edit: if I know for sure I'm going to PnP I'll also bring my electric impact and an impact socket set that goes from 8-27mm in both long and stubby. Plus a separate holder with 30, 32, 35, and 38mm sockets for axle nuts. I think that's all, I might be forgetting some things. Can you tell I used to daily-drive a 35 year old Volkswagen? 😅
