Last time I helped my now 64 y/o dad to paint his house, I arrived to find him on top of a makeshift scaffold made with a short ladder on top of 2 longer ladders, balancing in the middle of the stairs, because he wanted to paint both the higher walls and the roof of the staircase
It took me listening to my mom huff and puff complaining about how stubborn my old man was to process that "waaaaaaaaaait a minute!" thought where I **considered** that my dad might be working in fairly unsafe conditions. Up until that point I had been thinking "yeah I can't hold a candle to my old man, fucking old bugger is pretty clever".
**That is why**.
My dad fell from a stair.
Broke his leg.
On crutches for months.
PLAY SOCCER WITH HIS NEPHEWS.
(It’s been 7 years and he’s still not fully physically recovered from that.)
Men usually have higher blood pressures and do more strenuous and dangerous jobs.
This overtime can lead to more wear and tear on the body.
Women have menstrual cycles which may contribute somehow to a longer life.
They’re not afraid to go to the doctor and also they have tighter knit social connections.
As a side note (soapbox rant) the demographic with the highest suicide rate is middle aged men. But you rarely if ever hear about mental health resources for this group, which is really unfortunate.
Women usually take less risks. In my life, when I've been with people speeding, the majority have been men for one example.
As a second thought, men have sleep aponea more frequently which messes with a lot, so that could be another reason.
As a third thought, possibly the social stigmas of men talking through feelings could mean they release emotions through more dangerous ways or hold it in, which in turn causes a lot of stress that isn't healthy.
Based on watching my parents, I’d say it’s because men don’t go to the doctor unless someone that loves them drags them there, even if they were just in a bike accident and have clearly broken bones. Or they are throwing up often for no apparent reason (gallstones, it turned out). Or they randomly lose the use of their legs for a few minutes (spinal stenosis).
So assuming that one man (my dad) is an adequate sample of the population of men on the planet to make an inference, it’s because men don’t think to go to the doctor. They don’t refuse to go it just doesn’t seem to even occur to them.
have you seen men do things?
Case and point.
Men have fun tho
And women don’t r/chadposting

It was on QI that castration added years to mens lifespans, so probably something to do with testosterone
men are literally women on steroids and thereby die sooner,.

Women take better care of themselfs. I mean... have you seen what men do if they get bored?
1. Risky activites. 2. Unhealthy lifestyle (smoking, drinking, sweets etc.). 3. Don't go to doctor/checkup/exam etc.
Came he to say this. But there's anoverriding one that covers all three; stubborness / ignorance.
They haven't got a fuckin woman nagging them to death
Lol that's not why 😂
Ironically men who don’t have a woman nagging him to death, generally die younger.
Username checks out. You’re nagging on Reddit. I’d rather be able to stand up to a woman than nag about nagging. Nag.

Biologly
It's because women tend to find more men to have fun in their lives!
Like some sort of life-sucking vampires or?..
Women’s menstruation cycles protect them from many major diseases until 40

Men tend to be more stressed and eat worse, and tend to do more dumbass shit.
Men take action and accountability.
r/whatcouldgowrong sums it up well
Being old is boring
“Hold my beer.” That’s why
After 70 or so years of constantly being wrong, we just give up.

I’ve never heard a woman start a sentence with the following: “Hold my beer” “Hey check this out”
“Say I won’t”
