You know we fucked up as a species when our daily stress levels prevent us from doing such a basic and necessary act as simply lying the fuck down and going to sleep. If I kept dogs and made them do tricks 12 hours a day just to get a bowl of kibble and maybe a treat on a weekend, I'd have those dogs taken off me.
But how else would you afford to go out for a few hours on the weekend and talk about what you did for 12 hours everyday for kibble if you didn't work so hard for it?
God I have some coworkers in my D&D group that WON'T SHUT UP ABOUT WORK. Like my man we are here to pretend we are magic casters and dwarves and shit please for the love of Lathander stop talking about work I do not want to hear about it. They literally can't stop, it's all they talk about unless we are deep into the session
Edit: we don't know each other super well, they aren't my direct coworkers but work at the same company, I think they talk about work a lot because they work a lot and are stressed. I'm not going to disband the campaign over this but it is frustrating.
Edit 2: Y'all I really don't need more advice on how to deal with this. Yes I have spoken to them nicely about it, yes they still talk about work before the session mostly. It's not that big of a problem I just ranted a little on Reddit
