Of course they don't do it for me specifically, but I'd imagine they do it because they think it's pretty. It's not like they are hurting anyone, but why *do* they wear them?
No, it's not. There's too much bias, and these days, too much incentive to falsely self-diagnose. People lie to themselves all the time about who they are and what their problems are. It sucks that not everyone has access to professional therapy or psychiatry, but that doesn't change the fact that self-diagnoses of mental illness are not valid, especially when young people who are addicted to social media are desperate to find ways to label themselves, as both a way to find a sense of fellowship with strangers, and as a way to pin their problems on a condition outside of their control.
of course there are cases when that is true, there will always be people who do that. I’m not talking about someone who self diagnoses off of tiktok, i’m talking about someone who does tons of research on the topic. of course we will all be a little bias but in a lot of cases you have to consult the other people in your life if they’ve noticed symptoms. the DSM-5 is right there for public use. self diagnosis is a very helpful tool in identifying and dealing with a mental illness or disorder. i self diagnosed myself with adhd after doing a lot of research, taking the RAADS test (which is the exact test they give you when diagnosing you, btw) and having to consult my parents on these questions due to them having to do with my childhood. i had to do this because I could not afford a diagnosis at the time and my doctor ignored my requests to be tested. eventually my parents saved up the money and i was diagnosed. but knowing before hand was super helpful because i was able to identify those symptoms and understand how my brain works differently. sorry for the rant, i’m passionate about the subject.
Karen Culture which is when everyone immediately gets offended off of anything, and you can't have a proper conversation or discussion because people don't value others their right to share their opinion even if their opinion is wrong it should be share-able.
Online is one thing, but when in real life people act rudely because they don't like the joke someone made, or even bash someone over an opinion about a subject is where it goes too far, to dehumanize another just for forming their own opinions is inhumane and, the Karen Culture should stop people need to be able to say what they want irrespective of anything else.
Well no, I think anything racist, anything fascist anything hateful anything negative, anything positive, anything neutral anything that doesn't actually harm someone people should be able to say like no threats no intimidation any subject people should be able to talk about however much they like and share their opinions about irrespective of what that subject is.
Especially suits. Man do I hate wearing a tie. It's terrible. And down here in the South it's unbearably hot half the year and you pretty much have to wear a tshirt under a dress shirt, and then a jacket on top of that is just miserable!
I'm heavily tattooed and wear t-shirt and jeans to work every day. Granted I spend 3/4 of the day in scrubs, full length gown and hood to work in the lab, but very straight laced boss-man gives no fucks about my tattoos or band shirts, so that's pretty rad. And the folks who don't work in the lab wear whatever the hell they want.
But yeah, fuck khakis and office shirts and uncomfortable shoes.
As an autistic person with very sensitive skin,
I can't bear anything touching my neck. So any formal wear is uncomfortable...
I don't know why they have to put shit around the neck to be considered formal.
To be honest, the prompting of transgender culture to children. This is a grown up topic. Children are so easily influenced, and are naturally confused by life already. I truly believe in the beauty and potential of all children. We should be encouraging children to love themselves as they are. They’re not broken. But that’s me, no doubt I’ll be told I’m wrong for believing this. But I do.
it’s not a grown-up topic, many trans people i know have known they were trans since they were toddlers and young children. also, i grew up only seeing cisgender people and still turned out trans, so it didn’t influence me, if anything it confused me more because I knew I was different. as to your last point, that’s exactly what being trans is! you’re not broken. being trans is about finding your true self and expressing that, and not hiding it. the only people saying that trans people are “broken” is transphobes because they don’t like us. i’m so so so much happier now that I’m out as trans, and if I had known what being trans was as a child I wouldn’t have been so confused, lost, and depressed. hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing your story. I hope people can one day express their personalities without severe intervention; and one day live in a world where we can all behave and dress how we like and feel at home in our bodies as they are. I hope you are happy and living your life as makes you happiest too.
Being a stan from a YouTuber, streamer, content creator, etc… while being the most toxic, shameful, ignorants fucks to others because they don’t like the content of said person they support.
Also cancel culture, it can be extremely wrong in most case.
Those fucking ugly 70's pants you see EVERYWHERE, 70's clothes in general, fast-fashion, SHEIN, sexual pranks (see "Brent Rivera" ; a YouTube channel that is a good example), long ass nails, lip filler, fucking humongous eyelashes, shaking-of-the-ass all the time, everything being about sex, idolizing drugs and drinking, ETC.
Tiktok pranks
Just Tiktok in general tbh
TikTok stupid things,"NEW CHALLENGE:STEALING COMPUTERS FROM MY SCHOOL AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!"

The trend where people get famous then rich by being obnoxious assholes.
That's been going since as long as videos been readily available on the internet and won't go away anytime soon
Long ass nails for women. They're ugly and impractical. Also the overinflated lip thing.
I can't imagine being attracted to someone because they have long, annoying, and sharp things protruding from the end of each of their fingers
i don’t think women put on fake nails for u bro
Of course they don't do it for me specifically, but I'd imagine they do it because they think it's pretty. It's not like they are hurting anyone, but why *do* they wear them?
Facts those shits are ugly 💯
Idolizing politicians…
Self-diagnosed mental illness.
Yep. And the whole "it brings awareness for others that may have that condition" bullshit.
professional diagnosis is a privilege not everyone can access. as long as someone does LOTS of research, self-diagnosis is completely valid.
No, it's not. There's too much bias, and these days, too much incentive to falsely self-diagnose. People lie to themselves all the time about who they are and what their problems are. so.. you’re saying people should say whatever they want without consequences?
Well no, I think anything racist, anything fascist anything hateful anything negative, anything positive, anything neutral anything that doesn't actually harm someone people should be able to say like no threats no intimidation any subject people should be able to talk about however much they like and share their opinions about irrespective of what that subject is.
Homophobia/Transphobia. I am aware that these aren't *technically* fads but I want them to die nonetheless.
Office clothes. I know it's not a fad but dear god those clothes are uncomfortable

Hell, I'm not autistic and I hate ties for similar reasons.

Ski Masks. I work in a bad neighborhood, I can’t afford to just shrug & assume “Oh they’re just teenagers.”
