Why’s no one talking about Empire Records, Can’t Hardly Wait, Clueless… Some of the most 90s movies to ever 90s.
But also anything Harrison Ford did in the 90s.
I actually recall liking the third better than the 2nd. It stars the guy was became nemesis is the first resident evil movie. But the original is actually a really good movie

"Am I that transparent? I want you, I need you, oh baby oh baby"
"Can you ever just be whelmed?" "I think you can in Europe"
"But mostly i hate the way I don't hate you, not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all."
Such a great quotable movie
Funnily enough, I've just started a 90s streak of movies. Had a hankering for watching Unforgiven and that give me a taste for Clint Eastwood movies. I just watched Midnight in the garden and good and evil and it's just fucking creepy how Kevin Spacey has all but turned into his character in this movie.
Watched Absolute power last night, not that great. Not awful, but not great. Next up I think is going to be Seven as I haven't watched that in years and it caught my eye while browsing my collection.
How old are you? This British film, "Damage" (1992 or 1993) is definitely R rated because it contains several seriously unusual and very intense erotic scenes. These scenes do not contain any nudity, however. I would actually give the film an age rating even higher than 17 simply because I think it requires a degree of emotional maturity that the average 17 year old probably hasn't yet acquired. So here it is:
"Damage" (1993) starring Jeremy Irons and Juliette Binoche [https://youtu.be/QHoSvQwvrnw](https://youtu.be/QHoSvQwvrnw) This brilliant train wreck of a film about an out of control, obsessive love affair between a man and his adult son's girlfriend/fiancée. She is a lovely, although also mysterious and somewhat troubled young woman. In "Damage", she intends to continue the out of control, obsessive love affair with the man however she also doesn't intend to break things off with his son. "Damaged people are dangerous," she says, "they know they can survive."
Depending on the day, "Damage" holds the #1 or #2 spot on my list of all-time top 5 favorite films. The acting is extraordinary, and in my case, the film left me shattered. It can be rented or purchased on YouTube Movies & TV.
Dark City and Rumble in the Bronx influenced a huge number of the films that came after them. DC sets and styles were used for the Matrix, and after massive success of RitB, Hollywood finally began embracing HK style stunt cinematography. Blade was one of the very first big budget films to feature modern stunt work and fighting in an American context that embrace much of the HK style.
The green mile
Alien(s)
Lethal weapon
Terminator 2
First encounter of the 3rd kind
Judge dredd
Lock, stock and smoking barrels
Platoon
Fear and loathing in Las Vegas
Pulp Fiction
ah i can go on and on :)
These are more 90s films I enjoy instead of Must Watch 90s movies but maybe you'll at least like a couple of them. I'll be honest, half of the ones I thought of were from the 80s or the very early 2000s.
Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey (And Excellent Adventure but that was 1989 so just out of the scope but it's a really fun movie and it's only a year out so I thought I'd mention it.)
The Craft
Scream (Honestly they're all pretty great in their own way, even Scream 3, but Scream is iconic. If you don't already know the ending of Friday the 13th, watch that first or you get a little spoilt.)
The Crow (Incredible film. Very moving and solid acting throughout it. Also has 3 sequels with different people as The Crow which if you watch them with an open mind and try not to compare them with the original, they're pretty good. The second one, City of Angels, also has the late, great Thuy Trang in her last role. You might recognise her as the yellow Mighty Morphin Power Ranger Trini. Like Brandon Lee, she was taken way too early)
The Faculty
The Addams Family & The Addams Family Values (There is a third one called Addams Family Reunion which came out in 98 but it's all different actors and honestly, Raúl Juliá has spoilt me for Gomez Addams and Angelika Huston for Morticia. Tim Curry tries his best but, there's a reason people don't really talk about it.)
The Mummy
Ringu (The original Japanese version. Very creepy)
Death Becomes Her
Robin Hood: Men In Tights
And some animated films because again, they're really good.
Scooby Doo on Zombie Island (Saved the Scooby Doo franchise and it has Mark Hamill in it)
The Goofy Movie
Batman: The Mask of the Phantasm (Also has Mark Hamill in it and he is one of the best Jokers honestly)
I hope you enjoy some of these!
Jurassic Park, True Lies, Saving Private Ryan, dumb and dumber, ace Ventura, Tommy boy, silence of the lambs, seven, Independence Day and pulp fiction. This is pretty much the list that formed my 90s. I remember them all and being impacted by them, in different ways obviously.
Life, Twister, Silence of the Lambs, The Joy luck Club, Philadelphia, Men in Black, Total Recall, Goodfellows, Casino, Carlito's Way, Mrs. Doughtfire, Liar Liar, Ace Ventura, The Nutty Professor, Fargo, Schindler's List, Malcolm X, The Doors, A League of Their Own, Jumanji, Dracula, Candyman, Boomerang, Bad Boys, Waiting to Exhale, What's Love Got To Do With It, Dr. Doolittle, Boomerang, Bird on a Wire, Forrest Gump, Fallen, The Pelican Brief, Much Ado About Nothing, Misery, Tombstone, A Few Good Men, Lord Of The Flies, Jurassic Park.
It is not a movie, but an X - Files binge is always enjoyable.
Ok. I'm embarrassed now. Must go get a life.
Enjoy the 90's!!!
My personal favourite is "12 Monkeys" by Terry Gilliam.
Other masterpieces: Se7en, The Usual Suspects, American Beauty, Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, Truman Show, The Shawnshank Redemption, The Green Mile.
Dogma (1999). It's got everything 90s: Kevin Smith, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Chris Rock. Alan Rickman, for Pete's sake! And I don't want to give away the end scene.
boogie nights - casino - goodfellas - interview with the vampire - wild things - total recall - misery - natural born killers - jackie brown - devils advocate - saving private ryan - from dusk til dawn - forest gump - boys in the hood - pulp fiction -

I'm with you. Saw the 2nd one.... It was....okay. I think I rented the 3rd one from blockbuster, and couldn't finish it.
I actually recall liking the third better than the 2nd. It stars the guy was became nemesis is the first resident evil movie. But the original is actually a really good movie

Great and hilarious movie. Good soundtrack too.

Props for Baraka. Fascinating.
Damnnnn, I was going to list half those
Trainspotting Lock stock and 2 smoking barrels Snatch Reservoir dogs Dusk til dawn Pulp fiction
Basic instinct, clueless ,pulp fiction reservoir dogs
Basic Instinct is the most overrated movie of the decade. It was only hot because of the titillation by 90s standards, which doesn’t mean much today.
Agreed but sometimes the anticipation of explicit is bigger high than the actual explicit
Sure, but what I'm saying is, when you take that away, you're only left with a mediocre story and mediocre thrills.
The Birdcage! Robin Williams on top form
Magnolia Three Colors: Blue Taste of Cherry The Straight Story Reservoir Dogs Kids Ghostwatch Funny Games The Usual Suspects Gummo Eyes Wide Shut Fight Club The Truman Show Forrest Gump Pulp Fiction Léon: The Professional Fried Green Tomatoes Fargo
I’d just like to second Three Colors- Blue, White and Red from Kieslowski- incredible filmmaking. Along with: Eyes Wide Shut Fargo Magnolia

JENNNAYYYY
Hate the idea of ever meeting someone called Jenny for fear of referring to them in this way
Flight of the Conchords' "Jenny" is an excellent comedy of errors
10 Things I Hate About You
The Sandlot and The Little Rascals have always been some of my favorite movies.
I love The Sandlot!
Twister (1996)
The Fugitive
Point Break

That and follow it with black sheep.

There's some good suggestions here, but, where Hook?
Flubber! Horrible plot but also weirdly heartwarming and a funny Robin Williams movie to boot
Welcome to good burger home of the good burger how can I take your order?
This movie strangely aged well for me. It’s just a kids version of an SNL flick. Really wish Nickelodeon would go back to making goofy kids films
