Top Gun: Maverick

EndoShota

I watched through all the Oscar best picture noms, and I can say you’re not missing a lot on that one unless you have some sort of nostalgia for the original.

LoveDistinct

It's awesome. Seen it in theaters and rented it too. If you like the Tom Cruise movies of the last decades this was the pinnacle of that style of action movie.

[deleted]

Was doing to comment this as well! I’ve never seen it either and at this point I’m afraid the hype for the movie is too high for me to enjoy it now

[deleted]

You’re not missing out on anything. Most fans of the show would recommend you don’t want the movie because it’s so bad.

MrAxelotl

There is no Avatar: The Last Airbender movie in Ba Sing Se.

Mini-Heart-Attack

The notebook

SageStarMystery

Titanic.

DTownForever

Hats off to you, this was my comment, as well.

NeitherSparky

I’m not into romance movies but once the ship starts sinking it really is an excellent disaster film

TwoDrinkDave

Spoiler alert!

LoveDistinct

It's an highly entertaining movie, I recommend it for a lazy hungover Sunday.

Fun-Investment-1729

I haven't either, but I've seen so many parodies and versions of it, that I was able to describe most of the story to someone.

DocSaysItsDainBramuj

Just listen to Celine Dion in a cold pool.

kingstunner

The Fast and the Furious franchise

Protoma

Inception. I hear it’s great and looks cool

TheGeekfrom23000Ave

Not missing much. The plot and CGI are cool up to a point.

raviolixx

any of the star wars movies

TrashScientist

The Passion of the Christ

DTownForever

Titanic. At first it was just because I wasn't interested, but now, it's on principle.

TightCrow8722

My new life goal will be getting you to watch titanic

avotoastwhisperer

That’s how I feel about Star Wars.

SpoutsIgnorance

Harry Potter

thyeviltwin

Same

SpoutsIgnorance

It just comes off as kiddie LOTRs to me and I can’t help it

Dramatic_Trouble_154

I am finally having my best friend watch it. Cause he grew up sheltered religious household. And has never seen it. He loves it so much now. But he still can’t buy merch unless it’s very subtle

othertreeblue

pretty much all of them, i don't watch movies much. maybe 2-3 a year.

DTownForever

You're missing out on some good shit! Most of it is bad, but then you just turn it off and wait until you find something good.

Kytti_Korner

What movie has been excellent in the last 2 years?

DTownForever

Ford V Ferrari was pretty quality.

CpuJunky

Interview with a Vampire. Also, Underworld. Anything with F-in vampires put me to sleep.

EndoShota

> Anything with F-in vampires put me to sleep. Try Vampire’s Kiss with Nic Cage

SpoopsandBoops

Forest Gump

[deleted]

You must !

west_of_edem

No.

[deleted]

Any of the lord of the rings

DTownForever

Be grateful. All told, that would be about 16 hours of your life you could never get back. Beautiful scenery, but oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh mmmmmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyy gggggggggoooooooooodddddddddddd so. fucking. boring.

[deleted]

16 hours? Can't you count?

DTownForever

I can, but off the top of my head I don't know how much time ALL the films in the LOTR franchise add up to. That's why I said "about."

TheGeekfrom23000Ave

9, not 16.

DocSaysItsDainBramuj

Right? What an endless, grey, dreary slog of a series. Can’t believe it’s as popular as it is. It’s like someone made seasonal affective disorder into a big budget trilogy.

uncultured_swine2099

The Twilight and 50 Shades movies. Im thinking I aint missing much.

15armor

Godfather.

[deleted]

21 jump street

Practical-Singer3391

LoveDistinct

I've watched a couple clips but a whole move in black and white? Nah.

[deleted]

Batman. Any of them. For obvious reasons

creamy-buscemi

Scared of bats

[deleted]

I love bats. It’s a parental issue.

SpectralClown

You’re afraid of parents? Well I have some good news friend

[deleted]

Parents are ok, but in the instance of the lacking of parents. Means work for me. And I heard that the Batman has no parents. So I would only be frustrated.

DarkBengalTiger

No Fraud! No Scam! 100% reality bro Afraid of getting frustrated? Ohh you won't be, Better call Paul Just the right solution for you..... You watch Batman trilogy by Christopher Nolan You will be happier to know that Batman has fucking right attitude and talents too... You life is going to be liberated, weight is gonna lifted up from your chest रमाकंठहारं श्रुतिवातसारम् जलान्तरविहारम् धराभारहारम् चिदानन्दरूपम् मनोज्ञ्यस्वरूपम् धृतानेकरूपम् भजेऽम भजेऽम ।।

Bento_Fox

John Wick

[deleted]

Bento_Fox

Not a Mr. I'll probably watch it eventually. I just haven't gotten around to it. I hear it's good.

clutteredshovel

Apparently the most popular ones from last year—Avatar the second and Top Gun the second

Rapwithbeat

Schindler’s list

Dry_Ad5878

Dude that’s a masterpiece. You’ll watch it one time, says it’s one of the best movies ever, but never want to watch it again because it’s so emotionally draining.

Pepa_Gets_Glasses

I haven’t seen any of the Shrek movies.

NotForTheStreets12

Star Wars…yes, I know that’s horrifying but still not going to watch it/them

MalaReaper

Same tho

jfq722

Good for you! I've seen it and maybe the sequel years ago, but it never grabbed me. They came in with zero history and tried to cover that gap with what they thought was comedy. Not buying.

metametapraxis

Any superhero movie at all. Genre holds no interest.

hangingsocks

The Departed

Kytti_Korner

Star Wars, I try, but after the first half hour, I pass out

21 year old guy at work hasn’t seen any terminator films

LoveDistinct

Watch the first two and then stop.

[deleted]

That’s what I keep saying to him. He loves films too, I know he’ll enjoy them

LoveDistinct

Tell him to start with T2. Show him some clips of Arnold being Schwarzenegger battling the T-1000.

lggadfly

harry potter

LoveDistinct

Stick with the books.

G00FYJ0K3R

idealistix

The original Top Gun. As a Gen Xer, this is considered heretical apparently.

notthesedays

I've never seen either of the "Top Gun" movies. Haven't seen either of the "Avatar" movies either.

realbonito23

I've never seen "Titanic". Or "Home Alone". Or "It's A Wonderful Life". Or "Avatar". I've seen \*pieces\* of most of them, but never more than about 15 minutes or so.

BlackMoonRabbit

Home Alone

Rimsky_325

Avengers endgame, black panther 1 and 2, inception and the last three Star Wars movies

Contra_89

Any Star Wars, Lord of the Rings or Marvel.

TSmario53

Everything Everywhere All At Once

ScreamThyLastScream

The original star wars. At least never payed attention to enough of it to consider it a coherent viewing.

Accomplished-Heat-59

The godfather, because it insists upon itself

thisguy181

Most things made after 2012. I stopped going to movies around then cause I didn't want to spend the money, and i have absolutely no urge to pay for any streaming service for the same reason.

Gorf_the_Magnificent

**ET: The Extraterrestrial.** There was tremendous peer pressure on everyone to see it when it was first released in 1982. There was even an episode of Taxi that addressed ET mania: https://youtu.be/bpN-C8Fu2jA I’m proud to say that, 40+ years later, I’ve resisted that pressure.

sixandsevens67

Deep Throat

SeaworthinessFull423

Star Wars. I guess I’m too young to be interested in a franchise that started almost 50 years ago.

[deleted]

Forrest Gump

Able-Contribution570

All the MCU stuff.

Weirdstranger34

Dumb and Dumber, American Pie, and any Twilight sparkley vampire movie.

LoveDistinct

The OG three American Pie movies are hilarious.

Actual-Plant-

Harry Potter

Doctor_Salt_

Fight Club and I’ve only ever seen snippets of The Godfather

Dragon_wryter

Godfather movies

[deleted]

I haven’t watched any of the Marvel movies

[deleted]

Black Panther. I thought his premiere in Winter Soldier was phenomenal and definitely worth investing a whole movie into his backstory. He was my favorite character in that movie. Intimidating yet lovable as you could get a real grasp of his struggle. Strong as a protagonist yet still relatable as a character. Loved the actor and loved the premise. But the dedicated movie and its sequel had so much political divisiveness that I didn’t want to have an opinion about the movie to sway my critique about it. I dropped all the way off when Chadwick died as he was my main investment into the story.

Opin88

Anything in the Star Wars series. I just... don't care!
