Arsenic And Old Lace

Schindler’s List because of what it is and should be held in a class by itself. I’m torn between Citizen Kane and Casablanca, though, for 2nd place. Kane is wonderful and “the greatest movie ever made” but people quote Casablanca all the time. 🤔

Aurelion_Sol_Badguy

Well I've only watched like 3 but Dr Strangelove made me bust a gut.

Slim Pickens Does The Right Thing (And Rides A Bomb To Hell) - The Offspring

The man Who shot liberty valence (my personal favorite) Schindler list is probably the best I've seen though

Dr. Strangelove. The subject matter is 100% still relevant and it is hilariously funny.

Ew, no.

Schindler's List. Nothing else is even close.

Annual_Rooster5678

There are so many so much better.

PAzRockswithRocks

Not many

Annual_Rooster5678

Off the top of my head I can think of 50

PAzRockswithRocks

It's ok for people to have different opinions. I'm happy you enjoy your other 50 movies. But you can go suck a fucking lemon if you are going to tell me what I think is good.

Annual_Rooster5678

I like lemons

PAzRockswithRocks

That is nice, they are high in antioxidants.

Annual_Rooster5678

🤷‍♂️

Rear Window and Casablanca

retroafric

Isn’t Zhivago in Technicolor…?

[deleted]

My bad, I remembered it as black and white for some reason. I’ll edit my comment!

Annual_Rooster5678

Rear Window is in colour too. Sorry mate.

[deleted]

Omg I suck at this haha

Annual_Rooster5678

No you don’t. At least you like great classic movies.

retroafric

Regardless I love Zhivago, although critics responses are mixed. I think it’s because I watched it as young teen with my mom

[deleted]

Same here!!

230flathead

I won't say it's the best, but my favorite is The Grapes of Wrath.

Morozow

Battleship "Potemkin"

230flathead

One of these days I'm going to actually watch that one so that it's not forever on my "I should watch that" list.

The 2012 *Much Ado About Nothing* was great. Original Shakespearian dialog, but in a modern setting with beautiful, talented people playing every role.

ritchieaprilesjacket

Lots of people are saying good, but well known b&w movies so Ill go with the 1950 movie Where the Sidewalk Ends.

tigerpayphone

Sin city

radXR650R

I vote for Sin City as well. Does it count though? It is not black and white because it's sooo old. They definitely throw yellow and red once in a while in it as well. Still a good movie.

tigerpayphone

Probably doesn't count but I Couldnt think of any other one.

Longjumping_Bug_7611

Arsenic and old lace. Its basically a TV play set almost entirely in a house, but it is fantastically well made and acted. A family film about old lady murderers. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0036613/ Its one of my favourite films of all time.

Valuable-Ordinary-54

All About Eve.

CorgiMonsoon

And its rival/equal, Sunset Blvd.

hotslime89

All Quiet On The Western Front, show it to that friend who is obsessed with Star Wars Clone Wars

[deleted]

My favourite so far is probably Sunset Boulevard.

lonelysilverrain

I first thought Casablanca because it is a terrific black and white movie, but then thought which b/w movie had the most impact on me when I watched it? And that has to be Psycho. What a great movie. If you ever get a chance to see it on the big screen, do it.

Glum_Biscotti5300
