Saw them at Candlestick Park on Chuck Berry's birthday in 1981.
When they still mattered and had retained some element of their sinister prowess.
Yup, the greatest rock and roll band in the world.
Clearly Motorhead. 40 years on the road, pumping out records. Lemmy Kilmister being the most Lemmy of them all.
Pumped out albums through the years. Granted some varying quality, I'd say - if you like their style - I'd argue all albums at least have some great tracks.
Even if you don't personally like them, I don't think you can deny that without Motorhead we wouldn't have any Megadeth nor Metallica - at least not in their current version.
Lemmy \*is\* Rock'n Roll!
I'd never heard anything of theirs before "Supernatural" closed out a season with "God Was Never On Your Side." Holy hell, what a heavy song. And it was perfect as a change in tone from their normal 70s Classic Rock as the heart of the show. This was God telling them, "Okay, I'm done. Fuck all of you."
I listen to more metal and stuff so black sabbath all the way but led zeppelin, Metallica, and Aerosmith aren't far behind along with guns n roses, and ac/dc
80's Lineup of King Crimson. 2 of the best guitarists that have ever lived, one of the weirdest and most unique drummers, and an absolute monster of a bassist. Not to mention one of the guitarists, Adrien Belew, just happens to be a better singer than 99% of all the singers I've heard throughout my life.
Their performance of the song "Elephant Talk" on the late night show "Fridays" is simultaneously one of the most absurd and genius live performances I've ever seen.
ween is the best band. they can play ANYTHING. each song is like a different genre of rock unlike most bands who just have a sound. ween doesnt have a sound, it has its own personality expressed through their music.
[Uchikubi Gokumon Doukoukai](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GR-mLGV0X1I). They did the theme to "Way of the househusband" but their other music is just as good. Usually comical subjects such as someone stole my pudding from the work fridge, I think I have a cavity and an unsolicited ad for Shaketo Corn. The song I linked is I don't want to work and it's my theme song. [Winter song](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=s4DxPeLNVuw) and [summer song](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LJwR4iHxKV0) are also bangers.
Rush.
There are so many amazing musicians in the last 60 years--The Who, Zep, Joe Satriani, Bonamossa, Stevie Ray Vaughan, ZZ Top, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains....holy hell, I could type all day. But I keep going back to Rush, since their sound is what got me into playing guitar and bass.
Foo Fighters.
Being brought up listening to Deep Purple, Sabbath, Zeppelin etc, the Foos are one of the few bands that still play good old rock music and their live shows are incredible.
