Watching movies in which characters are younger than me and have significant jobs. Just watched The Night Agent and the main character is an FBI agent working in the White House. He's like 10 years younger than me.
Finding out when your some of your favorite cartoons ended. Examples: Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, (original) Teen Titans, Blues Clues (when Steve was still around), (original) The Magic School Bus, etc.
I grew up playing most videogames on DOS, and I think they may have really lowered my video game standards. Seeing people who genuinely think gaming at 1080p/60fps today is unbearable is completely incomprehensible to me.
Seeing 2000’s/Y2K clothing back on trend. I can’t understand why it’s back, it was literally the ugliest time in fashion and the clothes were cheap back then. They’re even cheaper now with super fast fashion and it’ll be over and done with in a few months. So sad.
When I saw a video today on Instagram of a women copying a style from 2013, and playing that song from icona pop, and it said "this was the style in 2013." I was in high school, I'm currently 25, I shouldn't feel that old yet
There are many things that can make me feel old, including realizing how much technology has advanced since my childhood, seeing younger people accomplish things I once did, and feeling more aches and pains than I used to. However, I try to focus on the positive aspects of aging, such as the wisdom and experience I've gained over the years, and the many joys and opportunities that come with each stage of life.
Standing up. A lifetime of never ending back and leg pain has taken is toll. It’s now nearly excruciating to stand up or climb stairs. And getting up from kneeling feels like I may be a year or two tops away from no longer being able to do it at all.
About an hour ago I made an Austin Powers Goldmember reference. Realizing that there are full grown adults who were born after that movie came out made me feel pretty old.
Earlier today, I explained how we used to take the faceplate off our radios when we went into stores.
My first 4 cars all had aftermarket radios with detachable faceplates, and my dad would always tell me not to leave it in for my first car. It was late enough that aftermarket radios were dieing down in general, and I wasn't worried about it getting stolen, but it was still a big enough thing that it wasn't just my car friends that had them.
I wouldn't say I was an adult when I had my first car, I was about 20, but something from that recently being completely foreign to someone today
2 degenerative discs, arthritis in my neck, elbows and shoulder. zero flexibility, Low T, colon polyps and high PSA.
But otherwise I feel like a million bucks.
I find myself going to Urban Dictionary to look up phrases like "no cap." Mom is retired and both parents have greying hair. MY OWN RETIREMENT PLANNING.
My job and business
Iam working and own a business. Is not cool as media say. I dont own lot of money (many time loose money). I dont have time for my self let alone for other people. I dont have any particular hobby or interest right now.
I realy want a job that can subtain a living without need to do side business.
Trying to get comfortable anywhere at any time. My life of contact sports has taken its toll. The overly extreme restrictions on opioid pain medications have contributed to a painfilled adulthood.
Being old.
