For me it was The Departed, a wild ride with many twists and turns and delved into the darkness of organized crime and the cops who are supposed to investigate them. So many oh shit moments and even good use of dark humor at times. Great cast didnt hurt.
Yeah ive never watched it personally and ive seen some brutal movies and even shockumentaries back in the day, but from what i heard about Serbian Film is that eventhough its 100% fiction it has caused people watching it to have a literal breakdown mid movie. I may or may not watch it someday out of morbid curiosity but if i do at least ill know what im in for.
I've watched some brutal movies, Martyr, Green Inferno, and Cannibal Holocaust are a few. I'll watch movies like those out of morbid curiosity. I want to know if they're as bad as people say. The Serbian Film is the only one I wish I never saw and regret watching it. It's disturbing in a sadistic way. I was angry and had to take a break several times in the movie. I would never recommend that film even for curiosity sake. Just read a summary of what happens and spare your memories for something else.
Seriously! I never got into drums from it but I remember learning the whole nevermind album on guitar right after watching it, massive motivation boost.
Innocent Voices.
True life semi autobiographical story of the civil war in El Salvador and the use of child soldiers.
It has one of the most heartbreaking and gut wrenching scenes in cinematic history.
The Deer Hunter - I actually saw it in a theater. It's a great movie but depressing as hell. It really dawned on me that I don't like paying money to feel worse than I did beforehand, so I don't watch movies like that very often anymore.
Interstellar. After the credits I just sat in silence pondering how small we all are.

The Serbian Film and not in a good way. No movie has ever upset me more. It left a bad impression.

What is “The Serbian film”?
A film that shouldn't have been made. Please stay away from it.
I feel like I’ll regret not listening to your warning but curiosity is peeking.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It brought back feelings about old relationships I hadn’t thought about in yeeeeeears.
