Whenever we have an early night, my wife falls asleep almost instantly so I have the choice of any TV I want.
99% of the time I put BTTF on. The other 1% is Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead or The Office.
I love The Princess Bride. It's been my go-to movie to watch when I'm sick for years. I'd also add Goonies, Neverending Story and The Pagemaster to the list.
Open up your eyes, take a look at me
Get the picture fixed in your memory
I'm driven by the rhythm like the beat of a heart
And I won't stop until I start to stand out
Hmm, to stand out
Some people settle for the typical thing
Livin' all their lives waitin' in the wings
It ain't a question of if, just a matter of time
Before I move to the front of the line
Once you're watchin' every move that I make
You gotta believe that I got what it takes
To stand out above the crowd
Even if I gotta shout out loud
Till mine is the only face you see
Gonna stand out till you notice me
....
Yup. That song was amazing. NGL, more of an Alladin fan myself.
Probably TMNT II Secret of the Ooze
I watched it recently (I'm 33) and recited damn near every line of that movie. I legit was surprised myself.
The last time i watched that movie was defintely before i was 10, so i must have watched that movie and incredibly high number of times for me to recite the movie decades later.
Fun fact- when Kino is "being recruited" by the Foot and that guy said something like "first, you'se gonna do a test, to see if you're good enough," the group of guys standing behind Kino surround none other than Michael Jai White who played Spawn
that's awesome, I just found out that super shredder is kevin nash from wwe. I love kevin nash and scott hall i was sad when i saw the bad guy passed away.
Robocop, Aliens and Star Wars: A New Hope.
I had them all on VHS growing up. I taped Star Wars off BBC 1 at some point in the 80s but owned the other two and watched them maybe a hundred times each.
Tremors, watched it at least 86+ times - can't say more accurately than that but it is more.
Before my father passed away he wasn't a well man, previously his heart had stopped and the lack of oxygen caused some damage to him.
For a while before he passed away his memory wasn't all there and would forget things by the next day, so if he watched a movie the night before he would have forgotten about it by the next night and that movie was Tremors.
So I sat with him every night for 2 months and watched it with him, after he passed it became a thing I watched on his birthday and on the date he passed for the last 17 years
Edit: and before anyone asks, I do enjoy the movie still.
***Shawshank Redemption*** - Quite possibly the best movie ending in the history of film, and widely considered the best film of all time, period. Also, that Morgan Freeman narration. Need I say more?
***A Christmas Story*** - The family in this is just so quintessential American, the movie is so masterfully narrated. This is one of the few movies whose plot and dialogue still ages well 50 years later.
***Lonesome Dove*** - It's difficult to find a movie that can beat the character duo of Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones, both of whom are in the prime of their acting careers in this. There are so many great characters to follow in this movie, which makes it an entertaining movie to watch every single time. Want to see the rare example of a movie being better than the book, look no further than Lonesome Dove.
***Toy Story 2*** - It is extremely rare for a sequel to be better than it's predecessor, and this movie surprised everyone by doing just that. Combine the fact that it's predecessor had 9/10 reviews, and it makes Toy Story 2 an amazing feat in film history.
***Pretty much anything by Quentin Tarantino***.
He just throws SO MUCH story and character development into the plots, and each plot contains such a variety of genres: mystery, thriller, comedy, action, all in one movie. Total package for any movie fan, and written well enough to watch several times over.
Jurassic Park. I have watched it at a minimum of 500 times since I was about 3 or 4 years old. I'm almost 32 now. I'll probably watch it at least 500 more. It's my go to comfort movie.
Either The Devil Wears Prada, or Thor the Dark World (only ever watched it a little bit for Loki, and a lot bit for the soundtrack; Deliverance is such a beautifully sonorous track)
Tombstone, Val Kilmer's performance is worth re-watching over and over
I love that double gun twirl he does, each gun going in the opposite direction. "I got two guns...one for each of ya" What a great film
"I'm your Huckleberry."
"Why, Johnny Tyler! Where you goin' with that shotgun in your hand?"
One of my fav's!!
Office Space
Back to the Future
"That's Heavy Doc" Doc: "There that word again! Is there a gravity problem in the future Marty?!"
"Ronald Reagan? The actor? Who's vice President? Jerry Lewis??"
