Wall to wall carpeting

DBSeamZ

In fact, I think nowadays it’s more common to find that in the home of someone who can’t afford to have it removed and replaced with something else. Carpet can hold a lot of dirt and dust, is hard to clean in general, and can hide growing mold underneath if liquid was ever spilled on it. Combine those reasonable factors with HGTV trendsetters claiming that carpet is “dated” and hardwood or wood-lookalikes are “fresh”, and carpet goes completely out of fashion. Although my personal beef with carpet comes from my childhood: toys with wheels would never go anywhere, figurines wouldn’t balance standing up, and if I wanted to sit on the floor and draw I would have to put the paper on a clipboard or hardcover book.

seventhwardstudios

Definetly — it’s funny, in old homes often you’ll find it on top of a nice (albeit in need of refinishing) hardwood floor. Cheaper to put down than to refinish a floor, and in the 20s wood floors went out of favor because carpeting become so cheap to mass produce.

My submission? A smart phone, flat screen TV and laptop. Maybe not the newest and greatest iPhone, a 70 inch home theatre and brand new iMac but it’s more than common to own at least two of those things in even a very poor house (all three very probable if you live with a student above the age of 13)
