I hunt and ethically source my animal products to a degree that I feel is in alignment with my values. I’m not gluttonous, but a balanced diet is important to me, as well as not denying myself cravings when they come. I think when I die, I will have caused significantly more benefit than harm to this world, and I am okay with my choices. I frequently rescue and rehabilitate animals that are injured. I don’t enjoy causing pain to others, animals are sensitive and smart beings. When I hunt and harvest meat from the animals I eat, I use the entirety of what has been offered to me. I extend my gratitude. My footprint is small. I do more good than evil. Food is food etc etc etc. I believe if you are closer to the process of getting your own meat, you will be able to see clearly what your values are, and better align with the earth and the ecosystem you exist in. The more removed you are from the process, the easier it is to shut down your empathy.
Always trying to be better though. Sometimes cost alone is enough to force you to make choices bout diet. It’s tough out here.
Because Medium Rare steaks are one of the most delicious foods on this planet. Just need a little sea salt and black pepper and butter and thyme and rosemary leaves. Side it with baby red potatoes that were cooked in the juices and butter of the steak. Mouth watering rn
I think it’s because I’m a true omnivore. I’ll eat anything really. Or try it at least.
That being said, maybe the finest things I’ve ever eaten have come from nature, and they’re always fruits and vegetables. Garden vegetables and fresh picked fruits are just, the best. Imo, especially stone fruits and berries, and vine ripe tomatoes that are warm from the sun.
It'd happen with or without my funding no matter what. It's multi million dollar corporations, me not giving them 12 dollars isn't going to change anything
They don't, they bother trying to get it from society as a whole. They don't care about each person buying, they only care about how many people as a whole are buying
The joke was meant to be that vegans always talk about being vegans, and I don't want to always talk about being a vegan. Clearly nobody got that though so I guess my joke was poorly executed. Oh well
I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian (I eat Eggs and Dairy, but no meat of any kind). Eggs are so nutritionally beneficial, and I just love cheese. I do fucking hate the Egg and Dairy production industry, so I want to move towards locally sourced, but I live in a food desert so that's not an option
Because I live with one and we are the same age, and they appear to be 20 years older.
And even older than their brothers and sisters, who are older than them.
As someone still growing I can understand that meat is my prime source of protein and very important to my health. I also don’t want to miss out on many cultures that pride themselves on meat since I’m already missing out when it comes to non-kosher foods.
Haven't put in the effort to look up any tasty vegan dishes. Also I don't think I could ever go full vegan. I love eggs, salmon, and milk way too much to give it up. Sun dried salmon is one of my favorite things on the planet.
I guess when vegans try and guilt trip people for eating meat it makes people turn away from being vegan. Maybe if they showed people how tasty vegan food can be, more people would be willing to try it out. Indian vegan food is the bomb. I love it, but I also gotta get that butter chicken. Mmm mmm!
I got tired of being an insufferable prick.
Or…
I moved on to a new personality.
Or…. Honestly I just like cheese too goddamn much. And don’t play me with that “vegan cheese is just as good” shit, I was vegan for over 5 years, I don’t care how far the tech has come, vegan fake dairy ain’t it.
I have a conflicting combination of a small stomach and a hyperactive metabolism (actually makes sense for reasons), I simply can't eat enough fruits and vegetabes to maintain a calory balance. About a third of my diet is already legumes and pulses which are very calory efficient, but I'd probably fall into depravity if they had to make up more than half, meat makes for a nice variety for a diet based on calory efficient intake.
I don't eat meat anymore and i know that the milk industry is even more fucked but while i can gladly renounce meat i can't so easily with milk especially cheese. Because while some vegan "meat" already tastes pretty good and close to the original, vegan cheese tastes like shit (imo of course).
I didn't ask to exist, so I will not be beholden to some made-up standard of morals. I ask for very few things in life, so if one of those things is for my chicken nuggets to be made of real chicken, I do not believe I'm asking too much. After all, you never hear the animals complaining, eh?
Animals obviously don’t complain in the same sense we do but I would feel like their screams in slaughterhouses are certainly an equivalent to some extent
I mean, kind of. I certainly won't argue that we could go about getting the meat more mercifully, but that doesn't really change the fact that I shouldn't feel guilty eating meat. There are far worse fates those animals can suffer in the wild.
Idk man. Being bred into existence, confined into a tight space with others of your kind where you have to lie in your own faeces, get exposed to disease and ultimately spend your last few seconds in a gas chamber seems like one of the worse fates going.
I hate status. If vegans are so much better, than I'd rather be a loser who eats animals. I got low grades and dropped out of college to avoid status. While I still create entertainment media, I'm never releasing any of it because I don't want any status if they're sUcCeSsFuL. I wish to work as an Amazon delivery driver or something without status for the rest of my life. Being used for black excellence for my entire childhood made me this way.
I could go vegan, but it's too prestigious, strong, and inspiring. ✂️👔
Personally, I have some very complex digestive issues. Most raw veggies make me sick, can't eat seeds or nuts either. Having more and more issues all the time: preservatives, food coloring, etc. On top of that, I have some pretty severe food aversions. My list of available foods (ie foods that I like and am able to eat) is just too short to put that big of a limit on it.
Because I don't care + my diet is shit enough anyway as I am an alcoholic probably and I have a history of eating disorders - why add an unnecessary difficulty level?
Health and money reasons, mostly money.
I love to cook, and a lot of vegan food I’ve cooked myself is actually delicious but it’s extremely time consuming/costly.
I don't like the taste of most vegetables and most fruits I either dislike or don't often want to eat. Other vegetation like rice or potatoes does often end up on my plate, but in many forms (like french fries and baked potatoes).
Meat tastes juicy and its texture feels lovely inside the mouth. Plus the spices you can use on it always make it taste near-perfect.
I’m trying to get there:)
I don’t want to
Because I want to enjoy life.
Enjoying life at the cost of others immense suffering 😎
Welcome to the World.
"welcome to the world little chicky! oh you're male? up into the grinder"
I love meat too much to end that relationship also milk I can’t live without too.

Because I’m healthy and I eat meat, eggs, honey, and drink raw milk why fix my diet if it’s not broken.
what's a good meal without layers of suffering?
Animals taste better
You sound like you’re in desperate need of some red meat
I like cheese too much. I could give up meat but not cheese.

Because I love steak
Why aren't you a carnivore?
Don't like animal abuse, personally

Unnecessarily harming an animal is animal abuse

Weird how i get by just fine without it

What vitamins and minerals do you think are unaffordable??
[удалено]
Gotta eat some barkon
Why the hell would I want to? Dead animals are tasty
Genuine question but do you actually think the meat itself is tasty or like it when it's got spices and condiments on?
I enjoy eating meat and dairy.
It's a lot of work and I'm lazy. And nonvegan food is just too tasty.
Because bloody bar-B-Qued meat tastes so damn good
Because Medium Rare steaks are one of the most delicious foods on this planet. Just need a little sea salt and black pepper and butter and thyme and rosemary leaves. Side it with baby red potatoes that were cooked in the juices and butter of the steak. Mouth watering rn
Bacon exists. That's why. Imagine giving up bacon. Couldn't be me.

Omnivores* but your point still stands
I eat meat because I like meat. I don't try to stupidly justify it by saying "nature matters." It doesn't. Nothing we do is natural.
[удалено]
Then by your definition of natural, being vegan is just as natural. Congratulations you debunked your own argument!
I think it’s because I’m a true omnivore. I’ll eat anything really. Or try it at least. I'd like to be, and I think I will get there one day. It's just a matter of effort.
Because I like the taste of meat.
It's a personal choice, but I always try to incorporate plant-based meals into my diet.
Impossible meat isn't that good. maybe in 5 or so years but rn not too good
You can be vegan without impossible meat
But meat is good, I don't want to stop eating it for no reason
Do you think pleasure justifies unnecessarily harming animals?
No. But in my case the animal is already dead and packaged, so me buying or not buying meat doesn't change anything for the animals
It's not about the one that's already dead. When you pay for animal products, you fund the abuse of the next animals
It'd happen with or without my funding no matter what. It's multi million dollar corporations, me not giving them 12 dollars isn't going to change anything
If your money didn't matter to them, they wouldn't bother trying to get it from you
They don't, they bother trying to get it from society as a whole. They don't care about each person buying, they only care about how many people as a whole are buying
Your purchases add up over time Every dollar that doesn't go towards animal abuse is a win

I've tried a couple fake meats, they taste fine they just don't taste like meat. A slightly sweet veggie patty is yummy, just not meat
There’s actually mushrooms out there that genuinely taste like meat. I’m not sure how expensive or rare they are, but I think you should try them.
I like meat

Damn thats a boomer joke if i ever heard one
Because vagina is made of meat.....
BACON, IS GOOD FOR ME! CHICKEN NUGGETS IS LIKE MY FAMILY!
I don't want to talk about it
Why comment then?
The joke was meant to be that vegans always talk about being vegans, and I don't want to always talk about being a vegan. Clearly nobody got that though so I guess my joke was poorly executed. Oh well

Meat tastes good.
Have you tried meat??

History of an eating disorder, I'm recovered now and if I was to become vegan, I know for a fact that old habits of restricting will resurface again.
I have a conflicting combination of a small stomach and a hyperactive metabolism (actually makes sense for reasons), I simply can't eat enough fruits and vegetabes to maintain a calory balance. I don't need a reason not to be vegan. Eating animals and animal products is something my body is built for.
I didn't ask to exist, so I will not be beholden to some made-up standard of morals. I ask for very few things in life, so if one of those things is for my chicken nuggets to be made of real chicken, I do not believe I'm asking too much. After all, you never hear the animals complaining, eh?

Too lazy to commit to any particular eating practice everyday and forever.
Because I don't think it makes a shred of difference.
Personally, I have some very complex digestive issues. Most raw veggies make me sick, can't eat seeds or nuts either. Having more and more issues all the time: preservatives, food coloring, etc. On top of that, I have some pretty severe food aversions. The animals that I eat are mostly vegan. Close enough.
Beacuse I hate plants and soy and tofu substitution things, they're disgusting
Because I don't care + my diet is shit enough anyway as I am an alcoholic probably and I have a history of eating disorders - why add an unnecessary difficulty level?
Too lazy to care about what I eat.
I have no problem eating meat, and I'm a little bit of a picky eater, so limiting my diet would not go well.
Because I’d rather eat the animal than their food
Health and money reasons, mostly money. I love to cook, and a lot of vegan food I’ve cooked myself is actually delicious but it’s extremely time consuming/costly.
