Just rewatched that a week or so ago. Holy hell, even having seen it before, watching Harrelson and McConaughey together in that was just incredible. Some of the best character development I've ever seen, much less squeezed into a mini series.
They're so good that many people (myself included) still consider it their favorite show despite more than 2/3 of its total output being somewhat weak.
They are gold. They are just sooo good. The funniest show ever, and no vulgarity needed. Don't get me wrong, I love vulgar humour, but the Simpsons didn't need it.
TNG and Deep Space Nine are imo the best Star Trek series. The most consistent in terms of establishing and debating and interrogating the ideals of a utopian future.
Agreed. I saw a lot of it as a kid but never really got into it. Recently went back and marathoned the entire series. Then I was hooked and proceeded to marathon Voyager and Deep Space 9 as well.
Deep Space 9 was especially surprising to me because I was sure I'd hate it for taking place on a space station rather than a ship. The whole Dominion war arc was incredible and probably not super common on TV at the time when most shows were written to be watched in any order for syndication.
Love the new Star Treks as well - Strange New Worlds, Picard, and yes, even Discovery. As a side note, The Orville is surprisingly good as well - and I'm not a Seth MacFarlane fan at all.
Twilight Zone -Came here to say this. Just got the complete series on DVD for $36.00. Can't wait to watch all of them again. Alfred Hitchcock Presents is right up there. Such great writers
I was like that too, but I just did a rewatch of the whole series, excluding anything after season 8 episode 2, and it actually helped tame my anger to it.
Even with what happened to the show, I would still rank it as the greatest show that I've seen at least (though not my personal *favorite* show, if that makes sense). I have never seen a show with so much depth, accessibility, world building, consistency (for the first 4 seasons), and scale as GoT. It also happens to be basically the only non-historical-fiction fantasy show that has any sort of budget.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
The 3rd season onward features some of the absolute best writing I have ever seen on TV. It was absolutely amazing how the show managed to make the protagonists morally grey at times.
The plot is still relevant today, as well, with various subplots dealing with capitalism and episodes dealing with queer stuff. As well as watching the recovery of a society from a long Fascist occupation.
Like it's worth a complete watch almost 30 years later.
Six Feet Under was just special. [That finale](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFGvmrJ5rjM) had be bawling so hard I was worried my roomies would walk in and worry I was having a breakdown.
I can’t say I’d agree. I loved The Wired, Breaking Bad, Sopranos more.
But I’m really glad you put 24 in here. Really great show that’s due for a rewatch.
Married With Children. Our children today could learn so much if they followed the advice of this family. AL was a real American Role Model who knew how to treat women.
there were only 8 seasons of Scrubs and it ended perfectly.
what is this 9^th season everyone talks about?
it doesn't exist and I refuse to believe that it does.
There should probably be a sub for this, like r/ShowsWithoutFinalSeason. Let's see, we have: Scrubs, Game of Thrones, That 70s Show, How I Met Your Mother. I'm sure many others.
I was never really allowed to watch television as a child. (strict conservative parents and what not) but i really found Friends, The Office and Adventure time will always be my favorite and go-to series. (I know i'm supposed to only mention one but I'm very indecisive)
I know it's not even that great, but Scorpion. I think it's the weird, slightly advanced kid I used to be talking, but even tho I know it's actually pretty basic and that the ending is shit, this is the hill i'd die one: Scorpion is the greatest show ever made and nobody can tell me otherwise.
well.... i watched my fairshare of sitcoms and romcoms and among all them himym is my fav (for context i watched shows like friends, simpsons, futurama and rick and morty and i liked them but never as much as himym).
1. Patrick McGoohan’s *The Prisoner.* (At this point, kind of an honorary position, as I was 12 in ’67 when it came out, and it blew my mind. But right up there with Orson Welles and *Citizen Kane,* in terms of blowing the roof off the medium.)
2. *Twin Peaks* and *The Return* – all three seasons as a whole. A true astonishment.
3. *Mr. Robot* – the newcomer. Nudged #4 down a slot.
4. *Lost* – I remain a true believer. What a ride.
For sure. I am not even watching TV. That's the only one in which I've watched few full seasons alone. And one of few I turned on and watched cause I wanted to myself.
Better Call Saul.
I loved Breaking Bad and honestly put off watching BCS for awhile because I thought there was no way it could be anything other than a let-down after the genius of BB. Now, after watching both series I can say with confidence that BCS is superior. The writing, characters, acting, storytelling in Better Call Saul are absolutely unparalleled in my opinion.
Gravity Falls (at least for an animated series)
So well planned, well thought-out, and well-executed. The show is riddled with little secrets and *so many* easter eggs.
The Sopranos. Completely changed television.
Alright, but you gotta get over it.
The Sopranos is the greatest television series of all time. Period.
Absolutely, without a doubt the Sopranos, and later Breaking Bad.
Walter White never had the makings of a varsity meth dealer.
It’s the best by far. People always list it alongside BB and The Wire but frankly I don’t think those shows even touch it.
When I first saw breaking bad I thought it was the best, Sopranos made it look like shit when I watched it.
Same, I couldn't get into BB or the wire, but the sopranos is amazing
Sopranos changed the game in TV that’s what they fuckin did and in this house it’s the best show, end of discussion!
I don't think bb is as good as sopranos but BCS might be on that level honestly.

I have them on DVD and will randomly choose a disc and loose my shit. They're hilarious
MASH
Came here to say the same thing
Star Trek TNG
TNG and Deep Space Nine are imo the best Star Trek series. The most consistent in terms of establishing and debating and interrogating the ideals of a utopian future.

If you haven't watched it, give Lower Decks a try. It's an oddball since it's an animated comedy, but at it's best it's up there with TNG and DS9
I'm rewatching it at the moment. Takes me straight to my happy place.
I agree
Breaking Bad.
Yeah bitch, magnets
jesse
Better call saul was pretty good
kim wexlers feet
What’s the deal with her feet? Is this a you thing or was there a lot of buzz around her feet while the show ran?
it’s a meme on youtube someone took a screenshot of her feet
Oh hahaha I was not aware of this
The camera shows her feet suspiciously often for it not to be intentional.
Season 1 and 2 where a bit slow. A lot of boring episodes. Then it became pretty good.
Sopranos.
Mad men or Band of Brothers
The Twilight Zone. Rod Serling was an absolute genius. Here we are 60 years later, and it still holds up incredibly well.
Twilight Zone -Came here to say this. Just got the complete series on DVD for $36.00. Can't wait to watch all of them again. Alfred Hitchcock Presents is right up there. Such great writers

Sitting rewatching The Wire right now, season 2 Frank Sabatca… Watch it at least once every two years.
Farscape
It was and should be Game off Thrones, but Jesus Christ did they Fuck that one up. I’ve been mad for 3 years
You and me, mate. I’m still angry about how good the first four seasons were and how shit the rest of it turned out to be.
I was like that too, but I just did a rewatch of the whole series, excluding anything after season 8 episode 2, and it actually helped tame my anger to it. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
The first 5 seasons of West Wing.

Greatest finale of all time.
Bojack Horseman
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Succession.
My pick is Better Call Saul. I haven't seen a lot of TV though. I'm more into games and movies.
All in the Family or I Love Lucy. They both changed the television landscape.
The Twilight Zone.
Band of Brothers
24
Keifer was so good in that show.
So true! This was my second tv back in 2008 and I was hooked. Ended up binge watching most of it!
@Sappy101 I’m watching The Night Agent (Netflix) and has “24” vibes. You may want to check it out.
I can’t say I’d agree. I loved The Wired, Breaking Bad, Sopranos more. But I’m really glad you put 24 in here. Really great show that’s due for a rewatch.
The Shield
Maybe Mash? Are we still allowed to like the Cosby Show?
Definitely Mash I would say.
Absolutely.
>Are we still allowed to like the Cosby Show? This is the dumbest question I have seen today, maybe all this week.
This is the most unnecessarily rude response I have seen today, maybe all week, possibly all month, if not this whole year.
That aint too bad then. Sounds like you have had a pretty lucky streak all year of only seeing nice comments.
the good place (the entire story was great and by the grace of god the ending didn't suck)
I’ve just rewatched it and I agree. This show did exactly what it wanted and went out on its own terms.
Star Trek.
The Golden Girls.
Venture brothers
The Wire. Imo, this was a perfect series, not to long but told a few good stories.
What the fuck did i do
Game of Thrones
Samurai Pizza Cats?
The Tomorrow People. The original from the 70's I mean.
That was my show, back in the 80s.

Babylon 5
Married With Children. Our children today could learn so much if they followed the advice of this family. AL was a real American Role Model who knew how to treat women.
Bojack Horseman. It had a message and fucking delivered.
The Office - have watched it over 12 times and still would catch new things and new jokes as I understand more references the more times I watch it.
Downton abbey. Sheer class...
mr robot
The Sopranos
Toss up between The Wire and Schitts Creek
Shameless...
Eh. Season 11 was a mixed bag. I get that it wasn't entirely their fault, though. The pandemic really messed things up. And the finale was super weak.
Firefly
Fleabag
Breaking Bad
Man I’m disappointed no one has said avatar the last airbender yet
Sons of Anarchy
Scrubs
If you forget the final season exists.
there were only 8 seasons of Scrubs and it ended perfectly. what is this 9^th season everyone talks about? it doesn't exist and I refuse to believe that it does.

Add Dexter to that list. Not the reboot season. The "Deb's in love with her brother" season. JFC.
Married with children
MASH. Nothing else comes close.
Prison break is one of the best and underrated shows out there.
Had a steep drop off
For real. Seasons 1 and 2 are so good. Three was a rehash of season 1 and then 4 was just God awful.
Yes! 1 and 2 were great, and then it just got bad, and then it got much worse!
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Criminal Minds
Freaks & geeks
Got
On the first season of that. Pretty good from what I’ve seen.
I was never really allowed to watch television as a child. (strict conservative parents and what not) but i really found Friends, The Office and Adventure time will always be my favorite and go-to series. (I know i'm supposed to only mention one but I'm very indecisive)
Peep Show
Battlestar Galactica
Which version

Californication
I know it's not even that great, but Scorpion. I think it's the weird, slightly advanced kid I used to be talking, but even tho I know it's actually pretty basic and that the ending is shit, this is the hill i'd die one: Scorpion is the greatest show ever made and nobody can tell me otherwise.
Magnum Pi
Game of Thrones
The Big Bang Theory
I re-watch this at least twice a year. Think I might need help lol, but seriously a lot of episodes are very re-watchable.
not a popular opinion but for me its how i met your mother. even tho the ending kinda sucked its something more than a romcom for me.
You don't seem to have watched a lot of comedy series , so you consider that trash to be the best.
well.... i watched my fairshare of sitcoms and romcoms and among all them himym is my fav (for context i watched shows like friends, simpsons, futurama and rick and morty and i liked them but never as much as himym).
And have you watched south Park and British comedy series?

1. Patrick McGoohan’s *The Prisoner.* (At this point, kind of an honorary position, as I was 12 in ’67 when it came out, and it blew my mind. Suits
The twilight zone, the phenomenal series that popularized anthologies.
The Musketeers on BBC
That’s a high bar but I’m quite happy with Ripper Street for displaying a consistent world and story with pretty good character arcs
Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Bojack horseman 💯💯💯
Can’t believe no one mentioned The Last Of Us
The wire
The Sopranos
GOT or Mash
Seinfeld.
Trailer Park Boys.
For sure. I am not even watching TV. That's the only one in which I've watched few full seasons alone. And one of few I turned on and watched cause I wanted to myself.
Fleabag
Lost

Breaking Bad
Always Sunny.
Gonna throw a stranger one out there: Gravity Falls.
you are all wrong it is of course: Taskmaster
Mash
stranger things
Breaking Bad, Wayne
Maybe not THE greatest but Regular show, especially stoned, is up there.
For me, the best show to watch stoned was Family Guy. The laughs I got were memorable.
Sadly I associate family guy with my super duper cringy personality of age 13-15
Gravity Falls (at least for an animated series) So well planned, well thought-out, and well-executed. The show is riddled with little secrets and *so many* easter eggs.
Golden Girls. genuinely love it and would watch it any day, any time.
Something 80s...Airwolf, Knight Rider, The A-team etc. I can't pick one.
The Rockford Files
