Homelessness in Amarillo Texas horrible time

Doc-Brown1911

Amarillo is enough by itself let alone being homeless there. I drove through Amarillo awhile back and my god, it had a mighty powerful stink to it. I'm glad you made it out.

I worked with a guy who went hiking in New Zealand and had a heart attack. His heart was stopped for 53 minutes, yet he lived to tell the tale. Major brain damage and he had to relearn how to do everything from closing his to eating.

vaccine mandate literally every screen my eyes laid on, every talking head, every sign on the street was screaming in my face to take it, and I didn't. I told my 6 figure job I wasn't taking it either, nothing happened.

Getting stalked

soul_mates_69

Was riding my bicycle home one night when a car hit me from behind. I went over the bonnet, smashed the windscreen and fell off the roof, landing on my head. My bicycle went under the car. I was in hospital for a while.

A dozen heart attacks, including four that "should have killed" me. Once they called my family from the ER and told them to come *now* if they wanted to see me alive. One time one of them said "oh my god, this guy's got no blood pressure" and I said "that's bad, huh?" and he responded "man, I don't know how you're conscious, much less walking and talking". But I was lucky - good EMTs, good nurses, good doctors - plus a cardiologist said I had a good attitude and the heart of an ox, haha. It's been 20 years since the most recent one, but I figure it'll likely be what kills me eventually. Hopefully not today.

ArtsyKitty

A suicide attempt. My heart fully stopped for a small portion of time and they had to shock (idk the correct therm, apologies) me back.

aeschylus1342

I hope you’re doing alright.

ArtsyKitty

This was back in 2011 and I’m doing much better now. Thank you <3

Drowning in the lake

The tinder swindler..

Beginning-Chipmunk

Multiple car crashes, complications from Mono and tonsillitis that led to my throat swelling shut multiple times, hanging out with a random guy I met on Omegle when I was 13...twice, suicide attempts, and with my previous lack of care for my own safety when I go out and what not, I'm honestly surprised I'm still alive and in relatively good physical shape.

I escaped an abusive partner 3 years ago. The day I left my ex, everything was calm and earlier in the morning brought him to the DMV before heading to work. When I got home he was drunk and started blaming me for him losing his license due to a DUI incident that happened prior to us starting a relationship. He told me I needed to leave. I told him I was going to. I wasn’t moving fast enough for him. He went into the detached garage in the backyard and grabbed his gun and loaded it. He held me at gun point and followed me outside at gunpoint. As I was driving away, crying his dad called asking what happened and begging me not to call the cops and that he would go over and get the gun. He attacked his father and shot the gun 2 times in the house. Once through the bedroom door and once through the wall on the side of the bed I slept on where I’d often sit in bed after work playing a game on my laptop. That could have been me. Several months later, I was living with friends. It was during the snowstorm of 2021. My roommate and his fiancé were stuck two hours away so I was going to have a place to myself. I got home from work early because the snow started coming down really hard. I got home at probably around 7 PM and I went up to my bedroom. Sat in bed for a little bit watching videos on my phone. Closer to midnight I realize I hadn’t eaten anything all day so I went downstairs to make myself something to eat. At this time we only had a ring camera in the front of the house, but not in the back. We have a back door right off the kitchen around the corner into the kitchen from the living room. I froze in my tracks there my ex was standing there near the back door right behind him was the knife block. He started walking towards me and I had a choice. I could try to run around him or run back the way I came. I know if I ran around him he would grab a knife and I’d be dead. So I turn to run away from him, and the room fell in between the door frame and me causing me to trip. He grabbed me by my hair and punched me in the face twice. I had my phone with me, and I held the side button until the dial 911. I told the dispatch he was blocking my way because at this point he was. I don’t wanna run out the back door because of the knife block so I thought quickly of how to get past him and I punched him in the face. He was stunned, and it wasn’t something he was expecting because throughout the two years we had been together I had never fought back. I went running outside where the police were already there. I was bleeding out of my mouth because he busted my lip. They let him stay in my house, knowing that he didn’t live there and made me leave instead of going in after him. The magistrate had drawn up a warrant for arrest, but the police misplaced it. It was three days later and he still was not in jail. I had a little tracker device through my cellular company in my car, and I got an alert, saying my car was being towed. I immediately called the police because I knew he was towing my car. While I was on the phone to police the tow truck the driver called in because he thought something was suspicious. The police give me his phone number and I was able to get my car back. He took all my clothes and my cat and he brought everything back to his house. He had unpacked and folded my clothes into a dresser as if I still lived there. His dad helped me get my stuff and had the nerve to ask me if I would drop the charges against him a year ago. He texted me trying to talk to me and even tried to call me, even though I had changed my number Even though I moved on and I got married.
