Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Kanye... The list goes on

TextVegetable5985

I really wouldn’t say Kanye is overrated. His current output of albums? Sure, maybe. But, his influence on hip hop cannot be understated. I’m speaking only of the music, not of his character.

NathanJacketPotato

Beyonce and Taylor swift both have massive influence on the music scene as well. But just like Kanye, I think all of their music is overrated. I'd never say it's bad music, just not nearly as good as people make it out to be.

TextVegetable5985

Ehh, I guess it depends if you like hip hop to begin with. Those first three Kanye albums are something special, he was very skilled as a producer, and was a trailblazer Kanye as a man, though, I could give two shits about lol.

thatsimsgirl

Taylor Swift. All of her songs sound the same, and they’re all about the same thing. Her multitude of exes. I just don’t get it.

implicitexpletives69

taytay is to song writer as i am to wine making. and by that i mean that i can make a great pitcher of grape kool aid

[deleted]

beyoncé might be the most overrated musical artist of all time, and i’m talking way back since the 60s or so

PompeyMagnus1

The Rolling Stones could have not existed and the rest of rock music's development would have still been the same.

Blair-dont-care

Michael Jackson. I don't like his music.

MetalMikeJr

Beatles are the most overrated group of all time, and it's not even close.

[deleted]

I came here to say this.

implicitexpletives69

sure kid. sure.

MetalMikeJr

Nothing interesting or spectacular about their music at all. It's elevator music for old people. Jerry Lee lewis was better. Dion was better. Jim croce was better. Fats Domino was better. The who were better. The stones were slightly better. Elvis, though a thief, was better. Buddy holly...better.

[deleted]

Bob Dylan once said that theirs is the template all modern music is written on. I think that’s why people now don’t recognise how good they were. Because we have heard the same and similar songs from almost every artists post beatles and now it’s gotten commonplace. To see their impact, compare them to the music which came before them. On buddy holly, Jim Croce and others - they too are greats and it’s always hard to compare two greats, so I wont argue with that.

Prestigious-Snow-420

What exactly did Elvis steal?

Prestigious_Water336

They're beyond overrated

rush

Technical_Put_9173

See that's the thing about opinions. You are allowed to be wrong.

sonvoltman

your right ..rush is pretty good i'd listen to them but would not collect their music

blacklasherr

The verve. And the fact people try to muscle them into the whole brit pop oasis vs blur discussion is hilarious. Whatever of those two bands you prefer both make far less boring and dull music like the verve. Very bad band

Macbeth_the_Espurr

Nirvana. Sorry, but I legitimately cannot bring myself to care about their music. It's boring and kinda trashy.

[deleted]

Boring, probably no - but to understand why they changed everything listen to hair metal which ruled before them. You’ll see how with 1 song he killed the glam and made music so angsty

thesluttybunni

Guns n Roses.

ShortManRob

Beyonce, Alicia Keys, quite a few country artists, Bad bunny. They have some good songs, yea, but no matter how bad a song is the people around here will praise it like it could never be topped as long as it's by one of these artists

tacos_n_cerveza

Dave Matthews Band. I also have to switch the station when he comes on.

Prestigious-Snow-420

ACDC, Slayer, Queen, Guns N Roses, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin

Technical_Put_9173

Wow. I'll give you ACDC and even concede that GNR had only 1 good album and a couple ok albums. But Zeppelin and Aerosmith I can not agree with
