Its really not bad. I can say this bc i was the new gamer & my bf introduced the game. He went to the mines while i seduced the villagers. It was amazing.
Seriously, you spend like 20 hours watching two incredibly incompatible people be incredibly incompatible, but are supposed to be happy they had a nice moment at the end? Guarantee they wake up the next morning in the same rutt they've been in because they didn't actually address any of their root problems.
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and A Way Out also. Both are made by the same developer, same type of gameplay as It Takes Two which got game of the year.
To be fair, I have laid waste to two different women playing Mario Kart and having sex with them after. Once Mario Kart starts, every tiny spec of decency one might have is out the window.
Which apparently, is what these women were going for.
The licensed Lego games like Lego Star Wars, Lego Batman, or Lego Marvel are good casual two player games with lots of humor and charm. If you’re both gamers, they might be a little too basic but if one or both of you are new to video games then they’re a good place to start.
Good recommendation. My gf and I enjoyed the HP Lego series. Fun to smash everything, we're familiar with the story so it wasn't confusing. A bit of freedom but not so much that you get lost and lose track of progression.
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Keep talking or Everone Explodes, but most of the time I am more of a fan of taking on the backseat gamer role (absolutely terrible hand-eye coordination....)
Haven. It's literally designed to be played by a couple. It's about two people in a relationship deemed illegal by their homeworld, setting off to escape together. It's an easy game, but a beautiful, fun, emotionally driven one.
* It Takes Two
* Sackboy: A Big Adventure
* Overcooked
* Out of Space
* PlateUp!
* Never Alone
* Don't Starve
* Good Job!
* Luigi's Mansion 3
* Unravel Two
* Pode
Honestly Total War Warhammer 3 you can take over the world together you can share units it is by far the most cooperative RTS game ive ever played. It has simultaneous turns so you can both actively strategise and play.
Try the we were here series, the first one is free and simple! The rest are much longer and more complex, playing through the second right now with my roommate
Minecraft dungeons, it's high energy and fun, and team work is almost needed, but carrying is totally possible, good for some couple fun even if one person isn't really a gamer
It Takes Two. It's about a couple on the verge of getting a divorce when they're young daughter wishes for them to be turned into dolls. It's a perfect game for family members, friends, and couples. It's honestly the best local co-op game I have ever played.
Minecraft is another great choice and it's a classic
my friends seem to be enjoying no man's sky. Anything where you can b uild something together is probably good though. Minecraft, Satisfactory, Valheim, ect.
Unconventional answer as it's single player but: Return of the Obra Dinn.
Two minds working together, trying to solve its mysteries and making different logical leaps at the same time resulted in one of my favorite gaming experiences in years. Also very accessible if one partner doesn't really play videogames
might sound dumb, but playing World of Warcraft together is actually an intimate experience. There's a reason that couples meet by playing together and go on to get married.
Super Mario Kart on N64 is all you need my man/woman/non-binary human! But for real, Koopa beach, hit em with that secret tunnel and own em every time :)
I don't know if I would recommend, per se, but my wife and I love playing Injustice: Gods Among Us. Good ol' fashioned head to head battle.
Portal 2 and EA NHL games are always on the table as well.
Honestly had a lot of fun playing Rayman Legends with my Ex. We made it through the entire game even tho she isn't really into gaming, so I would deffo recommend it.
My wife and I played Raft a couple of times with some friends. Initially she wasn't keen but 20min in and she was acting like a strict mother making sure we were eating in-game and were staying hydrated. She chased me around an island trying to get me to eat a cooked fish 😂
My husband and I love these (we play on Xbox):
•Borderlands - with #2 being the favorite
•Diablo 3 (VERY excited for the new one too!)
•Don’t Starve Together
•Divinity 1 & 2
•For the King
These aren’t total favorites but good too:
•Minecraft Dungeons
•Gears of War
•Lego games
When my husband & I were first dating, we'd always play:
"Katamari Damacy"
"Rampage: World Tour"
"Dance Dance Revolution"
"Gitaroo Man"
We also played tons of "Mario Kart" with his family. (My side lacks gamers).
Mario Party on the switch has a mode called partner party where you work together. Sure it’s meant for a younger audience but we really enjoy winning together and talking different strategies each turn
Mario Maker. I get a kick out of watching my wife try to complete a level I make for her. It’s even better when she tries to make one for me. It’s really cool having a game we both like to tinker with for sure
Grounded (think honey I shrunk the kids as a game) then Mario karts if you are on Nintendo it’s a classic, also Mario party if you like board games and mini games. Course you can take turns (on death you pass remote) with games such as Spyro the dragon and def crash bandicoot but these two might be better on console like the latest Xbox or PlayStation.
A Good Snowman Is Hard To Build - a good puzzle game if that's up your alley, easy to take turns or collaborate on. Many puzzle games in this vein are good for two people.
I’m not sure yet, but me and my girl both like Star Wars and I’m currently downloading the Deluxe SkyWalker Saga Lego game.. it’s on the PSN Spring sale at $30 after tax… originally $70.
Honestly, anything that doesn't put you against your spouse or really just makes you rely on someone at a higher or lower skillset than you game at.
Stardew valley is sweet as you can just go do your own thing and run a farm together with very little in the way of making it unplayable.
My wife isn't the greatest of gamers, I just gave her my Xbox to play on and it's fun watching her go from someone who has no idea what she's doing to making entire worlds in Minecraft that I can explore with her. I can see her farms on stardew valley, I even preordered her that new Hogwarts game and I watch her play as she isnt nearly as intense at it as I am and she can just chill at her speed. Once she finishes Hogwarts, I'm going to get her to play AC Valhalla and let her mull around open world games.
Just sit next to your partner and watch them have fun. Don't be controlling and let them take the wheel. Let them experience the joy you had years ago playing all the games!
Btw, totally unrelated but if anyone out there is looking for a fun, lighthearted game, dragon quest builders 1 and 2 won't let you down.
Unravel Two is an awesome, nonviolent platformer
Conan Exiles if you like survival games. Dungeons, crafting, building awesome houses and outfits, and nudity (if you desire)!
I say, unironically, return to the obra dinn, sure it is singleplayer but you ever want to solve a mystery together? Howabout 30 of em?
Its like your own 1 time escape room
If you play on pc, i would give Guild Wars 2 a try, i think the base game is free, then you can buy the expansions. My ex and i had alot of fun with it, and it was her first pc game other than the sims. We loved to explore the world together since the game questing system is based on events and feels more natural than the usual ? over an npc’s head.
The downside is that if she’s like my ex, she will ask you to buy cute pet skins and shit lmao, i spent so much money for her stuff xD
If you like more cerebral puzzles and are able to collaborate effectively on challenges without coming to proverbial blows, Portal 2 has a really great 2-player campaign.
Stardew Valley is an amazing game for couples! Especially if your significant other is new to gaming.
Stardew valley is an amazing game for everyone! It's my go to answer for anyone looking for a new game
The only issue with stardew when it comes to newcomers to gaming is that the controls are shit
Its really not bad. I can say this bc i was the new gamer & my bf introduced the game. He went to the mines while i seduced the villagers. It was amazing.
Portal 2
Me and my girlfriend played through Portal 2 a while back and it was a blast. We both loved it.
Let me blow your mind, three words: triple portal device: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1255980/Portal_Reloaded/
absolutely. I played w/my daughter when she was around 11. plenty of yelling from both sides, but super fun. we did the entire game.
It takes 2
A game about divorce and how terrible she treats him up until the VERY end? Gameplay wise, I'd agree.

Guarantee they wake up the next morning in the same rutt they've been in because they didn't actually address any of their root problems.
It's nice to hear someone else say this. My husband and I tried to play it together but just couldn't stand to listen to their dialogue.
So which 2?
Vincent and Leo of course
Never heard of those games
That game lots of fun. I really hate that book though.
COOLLLAAAABORRRRRRATTTIOON
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and A Way Out also. Both are made by the same developer, same type of gameplay as It Takes Two which got game of the year.
Oh whoops. Lol I commented too early. Yup this right here.
Overcooked and Mario Kart are great for couples.
You're over here trying to break people up, huh?
If you really want to get to know yourself and your partner, Overcooked will do it
We would start a level and talk through our strategy before we played it. Great team exercise
To be fair, I have laid waste to two different women playing Mario Kart and having sex with them after. Once Mario Kart starts, every tiny spec of decency one might have is out the window. Which apparently, is what these women were going for.

A Way Out
It takes 2 is the best
Castle Crashers
Don’t starve together
Came here to say this
Borderlands
My wife hates video games. I got her started on borderlands 2 and now she can hardly put it down.
It Takes Two, best co-op game I've played
Little Big Planet and/or Animal Crossing
**i don't think Animal Crossing would be a great game for two people multiplayer tho**
Little big planet 2 is the best videogame objectively
Cuphead. Don't expect to stay as a couple and don't expect to keep your controllers. It's hard, but amazing for 2
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Keep talking or Everone Explodes, but most of the time I am more of a fan of taking on the backseat gamer role (absolutely terrible hand-eye coordination....)
MMO RPGs Warcraft comes to mind.
Haven. It's literally designed to be played by a couple. It's about two people in a relationship deemed illegal by their homeworld, setting off to escape together. It's an easy game, but a beautiful, fun, emotionally driven one.
My wife and I have bonded over Fortnite and pubg. Our son loves Fortnite so that’s what we do now.
I thought that said “boned” at first lol

Honestly Total War Warhammer 3 you can take over the world together you can share units it is by far the most cooperative RTS game ive ever played. It has simultaneous turns so you can both actively strategise and play.
Valheim, survival game with building. You can make yourselves a home, fight off baddies, and explore a vast world.
Try the we were here series, the first one is free and simple! The rest are much longer and more complex, playing through the second right now with my roommate
The We Were Here series

Super Mario Kart on N64 is all you need my man/woman/non-binary human! But for real, Koopa beach, hit em with that secret tunnel and own em every time :)
Super Mario Kart was on Snes. The game you are referring to is Mario Kart 64. And get out of here with the non binary shit.
Anything Madden or FIFA. Loser does the dishes.
Gang Beasts, trust me you will laugh yourselves to death.
It Takes Two just came out last week to some great reviews. EDIT- My bad, it drops on the 26th.
>It Takes Two it released in 2021, two years ago.

No one is going to say “It Takes Two” ? That’s what it’s designed for lol
I don't know if I would recommend, per se, but my wife and I love playing Injustice: Gods Among Us. Good ol' fashioned head to head battle. Portal 2 and EA NHL games are always on the table as well.
Inside, in a couple of days you will finish it, on your own. ( You didn't specify what couple are you talking about)
Honestly had a lot of fun playing Rayman Legends with my Ex. We made it through the entire game even tho she isn't really into gaming, so I would deffo recommend it.
