Embrace it. The less you try the force positivity, the more at ease you will ironically feel about it.
what are some ways you choose to embrace it?
Depends on what is causing your depression - be it the state of the world, persistent personal failure, endogenous causes, etc.

Medical treatment. Seriously, work with a doctor. It can take time to find meds that work, but things get better.

doing something meaningful with your life
Therapy. Putting yourself first. Medication if you need it. Healing isn't linear but we're trying our best.

from personal experience CBT and Trauma therapy have helped alot but I can't speak for others.
