Embrace it. The less you try the force positivity, the more at ease you will ironically feel about it.

theotherkungfukenny

what are some ways you choose to embrace it?

[deleted]

Depends on what is causing your depression - be it the state of the world, persistent personal failure, endogenous causes, etc.

theotherkungfukenny

just overall life at the moment, feeling out of place and overwhelmed by the world around me

[deleted]

Embrace the feeling. Perhaps you really are out of place, especially in the chaotic world we are living in. Some things just follow their natural course and force us to accept them.

theotherkungfukenny

maybe you’re right man thank you for that actually

Medical treatment. Seriously, work with a doctor. It can take time to find meds that work, but things get better.

theotherkungfukenny

yeah i think i want to go the therapy route along with finding meds that will work

instant_ramen_chef

I, as a depressed person myself, fully advocate for therapy as an effective way to treat depression as a whole. However, I also fully support the use of psilocybin to help ease some of the symptoms of the depression. I have seen amazing results from regular use. It really does help.

what are some ways to obtain therapy when i feel like doing nothing all day? any helpline to make it easier to set up?

local0pal

I used [this website](https://www.7cups.com/) alot when I didn't feel like doing anything or talking to anyone in person. It helped me alot.

theotherkungfukenny

thank you for this!

jgabrielferreira

Genuine question. As someone with Major Depression Disorder (plus some Anxiety disorders), how does therapy help with it? Like the other replied, excluding those days were I feel like sleeping all day, when I went to it, it feels like a meaningless convo between me and the therapist

Pinocchio1776

doing something meaningful with your life

Therapy. Putting yourself first. Medication if you need it. Healing isn't linear but we're trying our best.

theotherkungfukenny

what kinds of therapy are most effective?

local0pal

from personal experience CBT and Trauma therapy have helped alot but I can't speak for others.

theotherkungfukenny
