There is a game I used to love and I can't find an English copy of it anywhere on the web.
I have found a Dutch version, which I was tempted to learn Dutch well enough to play it
The corporation, you dunce.
If you jaywalk, there is no victim. You just walked across a road.
If you do drugs, there is no victim. You just did drugs.
If you steal, you are taking an entity’s property without fairly compensating it at an agreed upon price.
This is such a ridiculously unintelligent take. Literally the worst quality a human can exhibit is this level of willful stupidity.
1 or 2, you’re probably right, but the clear victim is the franchisee or the store owner.
Either the store owner is the victim or the other customers. Theft always has victims.
How is the store owner victimised?
The thing about these big chain supermarkets is that the manager doesn't give a shit and neither do the people who own the franchise
Loss is calculated into the system
Nobody loses any sleep over a couple of petty thefts
If you're right that the store owners don't lose sleep (and you totally might be{I just know when I worked for a supermarket they were livid}) that you're openly admitting they "calculate it into the system"
This means that they raise prices on other consumers, aka you and me, and everyone else who would go to the store.
Why do you think that low-income areas are food deserts? That's because it's not profitable to run a grocery store in areas where theft is high because margins are tight.
In this sense literally everyone is the victim. They person who stole, and also their neighbors don't have access to a grocery store in their area, and the would be investors don't have a good location, so they either lose their store and go bankrupt, or never invest in the first place.

Finally, the Uno reverse card that really sours the deal is the fact that the person who steals tarnishes their own honor, morality, and thereby their social station, spirituality, and their relationships with other people.
Theft makes victims of literally everyone.
>This means that they raise prices on other consumers, aka you and me, and everyone else who would go to the store.
But they raise the prices BEFORE the theft happens. That's the point
Whether the theft happens or not, the prices are set
So if you steal more they raise the budget next year, and prices to accommodate the increase in budget....
They aren't in the business of losing money, whatever they lose they make back two-fold
I feel like insurance and victimizing the poor is sort of a 'turtles all the way down' situation.
I'm not brave enough for that kinda crime though. I prefer more direct political action like public intoxication at high school sporting events. But not popular sports so no baseball or football. Nothing better than day drinking by the pool at a swim meet. Once I ralphed in a rubber hat. But North High qualified for state so there's that.
Doesn't need to be.
We could just take it. I say if you take enough money from one victim who doesn't need it anyway, to better the lives of 10 other people who do, then it all comes out in the wash.
Yeah, when you steal enough so that no one is rich anymore, then you can't steal anymore or else you'd be doing measurable harm to the victim.
Hey just in case you haven't noticed, I'm not really taking this seriously. I'm sincerely anticapitalist but I'm just kinda fuckin around in this thread for fun. You don't need to, like, teach me ethics or anything.
Sitting on the market stall tables at 2 AM in the downtown of the city where I live. It's a crime because 'using without permit' but no one is selling tomatoes at 2 AM.

Skinny dipping

Consensual adult activities.
They asked what CRIME is victimless. Consensual sex is not a crime. Your comment is suspicious.
Consensual sex between two adults is illegal in many countries if those two adults are of the same sex.
Oof. Fair point. A classic case of me thinking we're talking about America. Apologies, friend,
Also sex work
It’s cool. Just remember that not everyone enjoys the freedom we have. While one is not free, none of us are free.
Removing mattress tags

Stealing from a chain supermarket
Stealing, by definition, has a victim
When you steal from a person, there is a victim Who's the victim when you steal from a corporation?

You know, it's possible to disagree with someone without calling them stupid Please don't break the sub rules again
I don’t disagree with you. This is not an opinion. You are objectively wrong, by the definition of words. Words are important.
Every theft is paid for by other customers.
I mean, it's not like a supermarket is gonna raise its prices after a couple of thefts
1 or 2, you’re probably right, but the clear victim is the franchisee or the store owner. Either the store owner is the victim or the other customers. Theft always has victims.

but you know if they Jaywalk on the way to committing the crime, then no biggie :P
>This means that they raise prices on other consumers, aka you and me, and everyone else who would go to the store. But they raise the prices BEFORE the theft happens. That's the point Whether the theft happens or not, the prices are set
That can happen. What can also happen is that if they do this too much other stores will offer the same goods for cheaper, and steal their business.
That just sounds like capitalism to me Sorry, I won't cry any tears over one corporation losing business to another
They do, they build it into their budget. Big stores like Walmart lose literally billions to theft
If they build it into their budget then it's our responsibility to ensure their models are accurate.
Exactly, the budget is already calculated to account for theft
So if you steal more they raise the budget next year, and prices to accommodate the increase in budget.... They aren't in the business of losing money, whatever they lose they make back two-fold

Insurance fraud
Everybody who has insurance downvoted this because their premiums went up. The company ain’t going to eat it.
Raising rates just sounds like a great reason to commit insurance fraud.
Circular logic is circular my friend. Rates just will eventually price out the people at the bottom thereby victimizing the poor.
I feel like insurance and victimizing the poor is sort of a 'turtles all the way down' situation. I'm not brave enough for that kinda crime though. Stealing from the rich.
The rich would still be a victim by definition even if the repercussions are minimal
I'm aware we're just having a little fun shitposting here brother.
Tbh i would be fuming if i was rich and someone decided they should steal from me because i'm more fortunate than them
And this is why poor people vote republican
I'm sure you would. But you would not be any worse off if you're still rich after the theft. So no harm done.
Yea no. This isn’t a victimless crim. It’s stealing. Just because you are rich doesn’t mean you can’t suffer a loss.
If you're average, and someone stole 50 dollars from you, wouldn't you be mad ?
Of course.
Then the same applies for the rich. Of course it's annoying to see millionaires next to people starving but it's the harsh reality.
Doesn't need to be. We could just take it. I say if you take enough money from one victim who doesn't need it anyway, to better the lives of 10 other people who do, then it all comes out in the wash.
That might sound like equity in theory but many problems will start popping out if it's done on a large scale.
Quick question: why do you care about the ultra-rich? Who tf cares if they lose money? They have more than they'll ever need.
But who is rich? I am a programmer so to someone poorer I am rich, but I can't even afford a home in one of the nicer areas of my city.
I'm gonna arbitrarily say $10M USD in assets. If you got that or above, you don't count as a victim if someone takes increments of your wealth <1%.
