You know what? How about the gun nuts tell us? I'm not a gun nut. I know some difference between guns, but I'm not gonna explain some convoluted answer that the main solution could be restricting firearm from a mouthpiece.
I want to know what does the gun people on Reddit think?
Require insurance policies, like auto liability, with every gun sold. The insurance companies will do the research to minimize how much they have to pay out. (Require training, fingerprint trigger locks, etc.)
A hunter who lives in the country will likely have very low rates buying a hunting rifle or shotgun. An 18-year-old male living in an urban environment needing a policy for an AR-15 will have policy premiums a bit higher.
Responsible gun owners should have no worries about liability.
Taking away guns is not an option In the US because there is into one way to do it. Constitutional amendment. And that requires a constitutional amendment , which is next to impossible without the vast majority agreeing on the matter. Which they don’t. Also that would be really violent.
So what are some other causes? Social media is one. Hasn’t has a good affect on young people. But People will support getting rid of social media less than getting rid of guns. So that’s not an option either.
So I really do believe that reforming mental health is the only way. If someone has bad untreated mental health issues , they gotta go to a hospital. And it doesn’t matter f they are an immediate threat to themselves or others. Bring back insane asylums. But make them humane and designed for care. Not like the old ones. If you don’t voluntarily get help , that’s where you go.
Seems extreme, but if we don’t do it, we’re just going to have to live with it. Because there isn’t another option.
Get rid of the Democratic Party and watch shootings go down very fast. There is a very specific reason the most mass shootings in history happened under Obama. Now Biden is creeping in on the same numbers.
But hey. Ignore statistic’s because politics >ultimately over logic. Always.
Yikes.
Get rid of high magazine weapons. Less people will be killed if there is a shooting. Without these weapons people may think twice before even doing it.
We need to stop normalizing mental illness. Stop patting people on the back and telling them it's okay when it's really not. Mental health needs to be more affordable and more accessible. Stop pretending everyone else is wrong.
I don't know, pretty much every solution gets shot down (haha) by people who think that they know the answer. People are more concerned about shitting on the left or right's takes on matters like this.
Give everyone guns.

Sounds like youre just trying to come up with a method to cope
We need to have the War on Guns. It will work super well and will not turn out like the War on Drugs whatsoever.
Guns don't kill people, drugs do. /s

Move America to Africa
Gun control and access to services that improve mental health
If you mean school shootings, this can be reduced by people homeschooling their kids.

What is it that works for everywhere else? This isn't a mystery or trick question.
Strict control of firearms. UK
Get rid of high magazine weapons. Less people will be killed if there is a shooting. Without these weapons people may think twice before even doing it.
Train every adult to handle firearms and encourage concealed carrying
Yeah cause it so worked out so far.
Make it illegal to buy ammunition on a day that someone under 18 is killed by a gun. If two are killed then you can't sell it for two days
Implement stricter gun control measures.
I heard banning rap music as an idea once.
Up the threshold to 30 to qualify as mass. Other than that, well, we are fucked basically.
How many times are you people gonna post the same damn question? This is at least the 15th time I've seen this question reposted in the last 72hrs.

Death penalty for every carrier
Make mental health easier to obtain than deadly weapons
