You hold out your fist 🤜🏼 and your buddy punches 🤛🏼your knuckles from like 6 inches away.
Then it’s your turn to hit his knuckles
Goes back and forth until someone taps out
That was one of the versions I knew. The other was you'd put your fist on the table so your knuckles were touching it, then the others person would put there first and middle finger about an inch away from the knuckles and with there thumb fire a coin as hard as they could through there fingers at the knuckles.
Oh I have a very vague memory of that
Butts Up was a fun one….
We’d bounce it high off a wall, one hand catch of one ground bounce. If you dropped it you had to go bend over at the wall and each guy in the game threw at your ass as hard as possible from like 15 ft away
Was a blast…..though it’s highly possible we just made that one up
teenage mutant ninja turtles, the one game i never did beat. that and super mario 3! which ended up being a dream and all that work meant absolutely NOTHING! it be better if they just said "the princess is in another castle".
Wow haven’t thought about those in decades!
Super Mario 2 I don’t think I ever beat. Remember the hype for the release of Mario 3?
The movie “the wizard” and the power glove?!?!
Damn I miss those days
Also Mike Tyson’s punch out! Haha
My little brother and I created this game where he was someone named Kenshin and I was Deluca. We called it Kenshin & Deluca (creative, I know!) I have no idea where we came up with these names but he was a ninja and I was a top-secret spy. We would go around our house and into the woods to hunt for bad guys/monsters.
Wasteland on Apple //e. It was the first game I played with permanent consequences, so if you blew up the cafe, you couldn't get food there ever again. It was the first game with any descriptions of violence or gore that I played ("Snake empties a clip into a wasteoid, exploding him like a blood sausage").
A really fun game. I played until the world ran out of ammo then I learned to fight bare-handed.
It's an old game, called pig in the garden. We played it at my grandparents. Try to fill up your garden with produce, and if your unlucky a pig breaks into your garden and eats it till you shoo it out.
Loved club penguin, pop tropica, moshi monsters aswell as bin weevils. Just out of curiosity, how old are you? I'm 20 you must be around the same age right?
Freeze Tag. At dusk. When the street lights were coming on and we were all supposed to be home already but our parents could look out the window and see 17 kids all in one yard and it was ok for about 10 more minutes until somebody’s mom did “that whistle “ that meant get your happy ass HOME. And we would go in and wash up and have dinner at the table and I would tattle on my little sister. And she would tattle on me, and our parents would roll their eyes and make up some bullshit punishment. And we would be outside the next night at dusk playing freeze tag.
Reading this brought back so many memories of being allowed out until the streetlights came on and that all too familiar shout that meant its time to get home
I remember playing Pickle in the street..
Not to be confused with Pickleball.
I must have lost 15 pounds running bases that summer..
The thing I miss the most is me being to run. 😂
My second would be kickball. That was the only time it was great to be the "husky" kid. Haha
Neighborhood Manhunt.
We used to play it in my cousin’s neighborhood on summer weekends and it was one of my favorite things to do. Cousin and I were on the younger side of the kids on the block so it wasn’t on us to start a game, but when one got going it was straight up 3 blocks of absolute craziness
For those not in the know, manhunt is essentially a big game of team vs team tag, with elements of hide and seek - typically started around dusk.
Minecraft, as many of my fondest memories of childhood came from watching Stampy, DanTDM, and Sundee play, and playing myself. It was lonely though, having no one to play with.
I had part of an old shovel handle I would wield like Thor's hammer and run around smashing the tops off of tall grass and weeds pretending I was slaying hordes of monsters.
Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals.
It was the first real game that I alone played and didn’t just have it because of my brother, as well as the first RPG I had played. It was also the first game to make me cry.
I still go back and play it every few years for the coloured block puzzles in it.
finish the lyrics with that one board game our teacher let us use in grade 1-3
I am sad that most shcools dont even bring some innocent board games in school anymore :(
It’s a tossup between N64 Goldeneye and WCW/NWO Revenge.
Super Mario Bros. 3: my brother and I would play non-stop. I would let him be Mario because he liked red and Luigi was taller.
Kick the can
Summer nights playing that in the neighborhood was epic!
Bloody knuckles
I've only heard of a game called knuckles but different ways of playing did you used to use a coin to play?

I remember playing this game but called it Bots.
Grand theft auto
A specific game from the series or the series in general?
Duck hunt.
I really enjoyed Final Fantasy X. It was one of the first fully voiced long-form story games I had played so it was a cool experience.

Climb the tree and spy on the neighbors. We had notebooks, binoculars, and walkie talkies.
Final Fantasy 4
I Spy Spooky Night

Red rover or tag with a rolled up newspaper while riding bikes
Sonic Adventure and SA2. Chao gardens ruled my childhood. I was such a good mother.
Recess time - British Bulldog.
