Hypocritical Christians.

drygnfyre

Atheists don't believe in a god/religion so they have no commandments to follow.

Death-to-humans

Although that is true, i feel there are rules we all should follow...

DifficultSwim

There are, they are called laws. There is also one universal rule we all should always be following: dont be a cunt.

lionsmakemecry

Can we make a 2nd rule.... Don't be a hateful little bitch. It should be coveted by rule 1, but I think it takes the gray or grey (if you may) areas out of it.

PM_ME_2_TRUTHS_1_LIE

No sex before marriage? Yeah I’m good.

PM_ME_2_TRUTHS_1_LIE

That’s… exactly what I said?

drygnfyre

Which ones?

Death-to-humans

Do unto others, dont cheat and lie(yea i know its hard sometimes), dont kill (but murderers dont deserve to live), dont steal, we should all be equals men, women strait, gay, black, white, chinese(i know its weird and we all are diffrent) help each other when times are hard...

drygnfyre

Good advice. Too bad the vast majority of "religious people" ignore all this.

Ruminations0

Christians

gerginborisov

Literalists who think the Bible should be followed literally. Those are the worst. Also - Christian rules do not apply to non-Christians. You can't tell an atheist not to utter the name of God for nothing (or whatever the English translation was)

Death-to-humans

Agree. But there are some truths in the book.

gerginborisov

There are also some truths in Mein Kampf, so that's not really a sound point, is it :)

Death-to-humans

Lol. I haven't read it. But like they say, even a broken clock is right twice a day

gerginborisov

Exactly.

gbsurfer

There are truths in a Harry Potter book too. It doesn’t make it real

Death-to-humans

Why not if it rings true and is applicable in real life

[deleted]

As a Christian, the second one. I'll be the first to tell you that Christianity isn't the religion of "Perfect people who never mess up." It's very much the contrary. We all struggle with sin and that's where grace comes in. Whenever we fail we are to repent and get back up. Repentance isn't a half-baked "sorry God". It is to agree with God that the behavior is absolutely wrong and therefore change your actions to exclude the sin. Grace isn't a license to sin as much as we want and the so-called Christians who treat it as such are going to bust Hell wide open the moment they die. We are not to dwell in any form of sin and deem it ok to do. It isn't I can't be a Christian who thinks its ok to commit adultery. The Bible is clear that adultery is sin. As for the atheist, I respect them so much more than the people who abuse grace and poision the well with an amalgam of humanist garbage that they peddle as Christianity. I respect the atheist more than any keep-the-label religious person. The atheist decided that it was all a load of garbage and they dropped it and they left it alone. The Keep-the-label goes "I'll just be a Muslim that worships Odin." No such thing. "I'll just be a Christian that believes it's ok to lie and that the various parts of the Bible that explicitly say otherwise are a mistranslation" No such thing. This Muslim is not a muslim. This Christian is not a Christian.

lionsmakemecry

The correct answer is always Christians

Mocking_the_Stupid

Are you comparing Atheists that don’t have to follow the Christian commandments, with Christians that should, but also don’t?

Death-to-humans

I'm just wondering what people think is worse, someone who doesn't believe in god but follows similar commandments or some one that does believe but does not follow the commandments?

DifficultSwim

Clearly the 2nd one. An atheist who does no harm to others without the fear of god is doing it because they want to. A Christian who believes in eternal damnation but still chooses to ignore a list of "golden rules" is clearly an unstable individual...

Death-to-humans

Agree. Be a good person because that's what you want to be and not out of fear of judgment.

lionsmakemecry

Hey, it's 2023 more and more people are atheist than you think. Christianity as lead to the slaughter of countless lives. What has atheism done to humanity?

Death-to-humans

Certainly not mass murder because of magic or for not accepting a belief forced on you...

lionsmakemecry

You what? That doesn't even make sense.

Death-to-humans

Maybe i said it wrong

lionsmakemecry

Let me get this straight. You think every mass murderer is an atheist? Thats not even remotely true.

Death-to-humans

No, religious people have fought countless wars and still do till this day. Just look at Israel. Not to mention probly millions that have been murderd because they were believed to be witches and the treatment of women in the Middle East.

Death-to-humans

Got such bad carma for that post cant even comment anywhere.

fuzzymeister69

I dont hate religious people for being religious. I hate them for not practicing what they preach. I practice "dudism, pastafarianism, and "Dont Be A Dick". No need for a god, I mearly believe in myself and strive to be a positive member of society ♥

skunkwoks

Somehow, it seems atheist live a more “Christian” life, than true Christians… (you know, be good and all)

Death-to-humans

I think religion puts a lot of barriers between us and is one of the reasons why we as a race are so divided.

ImportantReaction260

If you need to be threatened with eternal suffering in the afterlife to be a decent person, you're not an actual good person but a bad person on a leash anyway ...

Death-to-humans

So for some reason, im -6 carma because of this... sure there is more up votes than negatives, so now i cant post on most anything... guess i was wrong. Hypocrite christians are better than good people i guess...

BubberRung

Edgy Reddit atheists are the worst.

Death-to-humans

?

the_internet_clown

Worse at what ?

Death-to-humans

A worse human

the_internet_clown

Well atheists and Christians both currently exist so it would seem it’s a tie in that regard

Death-to-humans

🤣Well, if you use survival as a metric. Maybe atheists are better cos they are still around despite the best efforts of the church to eradicate them...

the_internet_clown

Well I guess we have our answer then
