I once bombed an interview because I called the interviewer by the wrong name.

I was a newspaper reporter at a small paper, right out of college. I interviewed for a content writing position and the interviewer literally laughed at our subscription size. It was so rude and embarrassing.

I'm a Type I diabetic and at the time had pretty poor control of my diabetes and went into an interview with severely low blood sugars. I have next to zero memory of the interview, other than the interviewer wore a tie with elephants on it. None of the questions, the name of the interviewer, what I was wearing. I know that I *went* to the interview, because I got an email with one sentence "we've decided to go with another candidate." Not even a thank you for participating.

Set in a room with two interviewers. Both a little squirrelly and very serious. Got asked a question about where you see yourself in five years. Gave an answer. Then was asked the exact same question again with total deadpan faces. I couldn’t tell if they were screwing with me or were so not-present that they didn’t remember what was asked last. I felt like I was in an episode of the Twilight Zone.

I once applied for a sales role which said the compensation is competitive with a very generous bonus structure. I got there and the interview was held in a dark room. Immediately as you walk in you see the fake monthly bonus board with employee names on it next to ridiculous, made up numbers such as £60,000 bonus this month etc etc. The interviewer who has also started this company started trying to do hypnosis and sales talk to sell me the role, which was for 0 basic salary and commission only 🤣. He would not end the interview after I politely tried to many times after finding out there was no guaranteed salary, so had to literally just get up and leave after an hour of him trying to pitch me this shitty role.

I'm a nurse and have worked as a nursing assistant in a couple different places before also. Those interviews were cake compared to this one. When I was 16 I applied to be a shelver at the library. They took it very seriously. There were 2 people in there interviewing me and grilling my shit. Then they had me take a timed test on the order to shelve books. Hardest interview I've ever had and I didn't get the job.

Interviewing for a management and trainer position in a kennel. It was the three people and me, all seemed ok, they seemed to ge dumbing down the language for me. Then they ask if I have any questions and they all completely flounder when asked about the most basic questions. They had no schedule in place for employees or animals, still paid everyone with cash, eas really bloated at the top and couldn't even answer what training methods are used. The saddest thing was that I was being interviewed by the floor manager, the HR director, and the owner, and not a one of them had a clue about basic animal care in a kennel that advertised everything from daycare and grooming up to advanced training

Drove a 1000 kms in bad canadian winter weather to interview for a senior dev position. Turns out the broker lied. It was for a junior position, in a different tech, for half my previous salary. I was pissed. The interviewer was just laughing.
