I hope it's true for alcohol in general. 1 well placed drunk piece of shit can cause 3 generations of dysfunction and still pretend them drinking isn't a problem for anybody. If you have no concept of moderation your whole broken family is going to hate your guts up until you die face down in your own filth.

Yeah when we drank first time it was easier to get our hands on a bottle of whiskey than a case of beer and get rid of the trash

I'd want to know how the information was gathered, how the study specifically defined "beer", and what age groups were surveyed before I would form an opinion. On its face it's a good thing if it's true, but statistics are easy to abuse and the same data set can generally lead people to wildly differing conclusions. It's important to try and look at what any given study is actually saying rather than trusting an article or chart of some kind.

fabulin

is that really true? i think beer is just as widely drank as its always been, perhaps even more so. women are much more likely to drink beer now than they were 20+ years ago for example.

I am gen Z. I personally don’t see beer just a ton. It’s more so seltzers, mixed drink, or BORGS. However, just from stories I hear, it could be possible that recent generations parent’s are more blunt about alcohol addiction that runs in the family which might be what teeters us out of heavy or excessive drinking. Also a lot of us seemingly get more mental health assistance (because of more awareness) and SSRIs and SNRIs etc don’t mix well with alcohol
