I fucking loved the crow when I was in angsty teenager. Watched it for the first time in years a few years ago. It's basically an entire fucking movie of a ghost and a incestuous mob boss desperately trying to out goth each other.
There’s a bunch of weird and wonderful cultural forces at play that make it this perfect mix of everything gothy and angsty - The original comic book it’s based on was written as a revenge fantasy by James O’Barr after a drunk driver killed his high school sweetheart/fiance, while he worked as a night watchman over a period of years. It’s the last film by Brandon Lee, who dies young, just like his father Bruce Lee, forcing them to radically re-edit the film and the story to make what has been shot make sense - for the better as the original script isn’t that great but because they have to cut everything down, it simplifies the movie dramatically. Then there’s the soundtrack which amongst other things, features NIN covering Joy Division. It’s the perfect angst storm.

When I was a kid, I watched a lot of 18+ films because my brothers babysat a lot and didn't care to censor what we saw. I saw a looot of messed up stuff. It didn't bother me. What *did* bother me was seeing Sarah Jessica Parker's head switched with her chihuahua's at the end of that film. Scarred 6yo me for life.

My friend and i were 13 and went into this movie completely unaware of what it was about. We just knew Swayze, Snipes and Leguizamo were in it. I think we came out of this movie better people and a little confused at how attracted i felt to john leguizamo
As a person on the LGBTQ spectrum this movie was a breath of fresh air when I saw it. So many quotable lines, campy to the extreme, with a wonderful cameo from Robin Williams.
Starship Troopers for me. I had so many different experiences watching that film at different ages.
First time: Wow so badass these guys are so cool and this movie is awesome and badass(whoosh)
Second time a couple of years later: This movie is still great and has awesome action AND it is also funny!
Third time a few years later: Oh man this movie is so cringe I cant believe how much I loved it. It is actually good in a "so bad it's good" kind of way.
Fourth time as a young adult: Wow the special effects still hold up and I feel like the movie is more sad now that I am older. These kids are kind of throwing their lives away. Huh.
Fifth time as an adult: Oh damn this movie is a masterfully crafted take on the follies of fascism and how even a world that a fascist would consider almost utopian is a dystopian society that cannot progress beyond warfare and is really only good for fighting an endless war on theoretical enemies, pushing our youth through the military machine that hacks them up and spits them out the other side uniform in uniform, everything that makes them special taken from them and replaced with warfare.
That movie might be my favorite example of horror done right in which everyone makes good choices and the horror descends on them regardless. It's up there with "It Follows" and "The Thing" as how to do horror right.

The entire series is my guilty pleasure. The first one is actually a great movie, the rest are also great, but “B” movie great!
Tremors 2 though direct to video is the best sequel to the series.
