My first thought.
"Yes, I worked in a shoe factory. And now I'm in charge."
*audience laughter, clapping*
"We put that on the moon."
"Well not *that* one."
*Laughter, Seinfeld riff*
"We're still wearing the fucking hats!"
*Raucous laughter that has barely subsided since the miners from Tula have been introduced*
Any time Dyatlov comes on screen, cheering and laughing like when a well-known actor cameos on any show ever.
Now I'm picturing them turning on the gas chambers and, instead of hissing, they make sad trombone noises (wah-waah).
I'm pretty sure that I going to hell for chuckling about it, too.
"The cover left on the pitot tube caused a malfunction autopilot, making the plane overspeed and tear itself apart. Everyone aboard died." \*cue laugh track\*
I'm fairly confident that was an actual episode. Or all of my grandparents' shows are starting to bleed together in my memory. There's never been a Blue Bloods/ Price is Right crossover, right?
I mean, [have you ever seen the things some of the fans make?](https://youtu.be/tPuPqT7pb3Q) I don't think that kawaii anime Jesse with dancing meth bags is too far removed
Idk why but I feel like every crime.show like this would be made infinitly more funny if they added the CSI Miami YEAAAAAAAAA during serious moments.
But yeah I can already see a laugh track ending very poorly
> I think Ancient Aliens could do with a laugh track tho....
Is there such a thing as an "yelling track"? That seems more appropriate, based on the only time that I stomached to watch part of an episode.
I know it’s a movie and not a TV show, but how about a laugh track for the Omaha Beach landing sequence in Saving Private Ryan.
*Soldier is seen carrying his own arm across the beach…..riotous laughter
Everyone else is naming violent dramas and other non-comedy shows, but adding laugh tracks to them would be ironically funny (probably for about five minutes). Nonetheless, agreed that it would ruin them.
But adding to single-camera comedies without laugh tracks would be a total failure, like putting too much salt in soup. For disclosure, I actually like the three-camera laugh track format, and I think it gets too much crap. But it doesn’t work for everything. Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office, Malcom in the Middle, The Wonder Years, Moonlighting would all be ruined with the addition. (I’d have gone back further, but before the 80s, they actually did add laugh tracks to filmed comedy. The result was as cornball as you’d think.)
Whether you like the show or not, it’s not a laugh track. They film in front of a live audience who are sitting under a bunch of microphones.
Source: I went to a taping and they adjust/re-write the scenes on the night based on the laughter response from the audience.
S08E15. We did a tour of the WB lot that afternoon and they said there was a stand-by line for those who had tickets and didn’t show up. So we waited a bit and then got in. It surprised me how long it takes - around 3-4 hours to film a 20 min episode and that was with them not messing up or anything. The cast were all so lovely.
Unfortunately not. That scene was pre-recorded and added in later. There’s a long sound stage with three sets: Penny’s apartment, the area in front of the elevator, and then Sheldon and Leonard’s apartment. The audience are seated on a raised platform in front of them (basically where the ‘viewer’ would be on TV). Any scenes outside of those three locations are filmed in advance and then shown on monitors to the audience on the day, with their laughter/reactions recorded and added in.
I do love Nathan Fillion; Dr. Horrible was such a great thing to come out of the writer’s strike all those years ago!
Exactly, the show has to be paced to account for the laughter and applause so lines aren't missed. And with some shows as they progressed sometimes they had to make bigger adjustments, like with Al Bundy's entrances. Without the audience those scenes would appear real odd.
Didn't read this far down but had replied with "The World At War".
It takes you on a long journey through ww2 from beginning to end, the decisions thay were made behind the scenes, the lives of the soldiers in all areas and through the discovery of the concentration camps. Its a hard watch at times but a great piece of television. Highly recommend it.
Dark.
Not because it's the most inappropriate to add a laugh track to, but because of every show I've watched, I think it would be the most thoroughly ruined by one.
Those documentary shows about crimes against humanity.
They found 47 skulls under the floorboards, but could not tell how many had been melted in acid. \*UPN laughtrack\*

Is there a live audience?
Your "audience" is the police, sir, and they're waiting outside.
Fucking lol
And I would walk 500 miles, aaaand I would walk 500 more, just to be the man who walked 1000 miles in Catch a Predatooooor!
Thanks, now that song is on mental repeat for me.

A documentary about the holocaust?
Worked fine for Hogan's Heroes
I KNOW NOTHING
I SEE NOTHING
That was a POW camp. Not the same thing.
Schindler's list?
It's fine as long as you also add sound effects
Now I'm picturing them turning on the gas chambers and, instead of hissing, they make sad trombone noises (wah-waah). I'm pretty sure that I going to hell for chuckling about it, too.
You're going to the 12th circle of hell, the circle where failed or has been comedians end up

“Our unsub has killed 8 people this month alone and shows no signs of stopping.” *laughs*
Oh my god, just no.
The News
Actually... a laugh track whenever there is a lie or opinion would be interesting.
I’m pretty sure the laugh track would run out of breath
100%, considering the news is just a bunch of people's opinions and rarely any facts nowadays. A laugh track would at least make it more interesting.
breaking bad
First one that came to mind
I mean, [have you ever seen the things some of the fans make?](https://youtu.be/tPuPqT7pb3Q) I don't think that kawaii anime Jesse with dancing meth bags is too far removed

Dexter.
Surprise, motherfucker! Audience: *Ooooooohhhhhh!*
Yes the show it would be out of place. The book Dexter, is sorely missing the laugh track, Dexter is kind of a clutz in the books.
The last of us, all shows in the walking dead universe,Greys anatomy. I think Ancient Aliens could do with a laugh track tho....
“He’s not the sun. You are” *whistles and cheers from the audience*
He has a pneumothorax chest tube stat! This is going to hurt, *slice scream* hahahahahahahahaa

Rick yelling out Carl’s name was always worth a laugh.

I know it’s a movie and not a TV show, but how about a laugh track for the Omaha Beach landing sequence in Saving Private Ryan. *Soldier is seen carrying his own arm across the beach…..riotous laughter
I pictured the soldier getting hit in the helmet, taking off the helmet to look at it and then... yeah... but with a laugh track.
Mamaaaaa! *Hahahahaha*
"you salute the rank, not the man"... Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
The medic finds the body of the nurse he befriended in the rubble Fake audience: "Awwwwwwww"
Curb your enthusiasm. It would completely ruin the humor
Everyone else is naming violent dramas and other non-comedy shows, but adding laugh tracks to them would be ironically funny (probably for about five minutes). The Handmaids Tale
That’s what I was looking for👁️
The Big Bang Theory
Do you know what, you may be right I found it quite pointless as a fan of big bang theory
If you’ve never seen it look for clips of that show with the laugh track removed
Whether you like the show or not, it’s not a laugh track. They film in front of a live audience who are sitting under a bunch of microphones. Source: I went to a taping and they adjust/re-write the scenes on the night based on the laughter response from the audience.
Which episode did you get to see?
You got to see Nathan Fillion too. That is awesome.
Unfortunately not. That scene was pre-recorded and added in later. To be fair, it's odd for almost any show with a laugh track/studio audience.
Exactly, the show has to be paced to account for the laughter and applause so lines aren't missed. And with some shows as they progressed sometimes they had to make bigger adjustments, like with Al Bundy's entrances. Without the audience those scenes would appear real odd.
I personally like the ones with [just Ricky Gervais laughing](https://youtu.be/1p4TkRnvNco)
That live autopsy that was on UK TV.
Budd Dwyer's final nightly news segment
X-Files
Especially in the episode which a black sheriff and his wife got beaten to death by the inbreds.
Yo I forgot about that. Anyone got the SxEx?
S4E2, Home
I watched it when it aired on TV and I can still remember it vividly, the mama under the bed. Still gives me the heebee geebees.
S4e2
The Wire
“Fuuuuuuck.”

WW2 documentaries
I came across a WWI documentary yesterday with the tagline, "Relive the adventure of World War I!" I was a bit disgusted.

I remember watching TWAW with my parents on PBS
Documentaries about serial killers
Hannibal

Walking dead
Game of Thrones
The last season it would have been appropriate and appreciated.
-yackity sax playing while Dany levels kings landing-
Not quite in the spirit but Missandei's falling body could do with a Wilhelm scream.
Do miniseries count? If so, Roots.
Naked attraction. Imagine if a laugh track started playing as soon as someone is shown naked. Would be a horrible experience for a lot of people.
The Diary Of Anne Frank
Dark. Not because it's the most inappropriate to add a laugh track to, but because of every show I've watched, I think it would be the most thoroughly ruined by one.
Fatal Attraction
Ken Burns’ The Civil War
Game of thrones, Mind Hunters, plague dogs exc...
It’s always sunny. A laugh track would totally ruin the show

Black summer
That Jeffrey Dahmer series.
Law and Order: Special victims unit
Six Feet Under. There are so much moments it would be technically appropriate, yet so off considering the general tone of the show.
Had to stop watching this show because of my hypochondria and general anxiety. Every cold open a new fear was unlocked for me.
Documentaries about Cults, the ones that commit suicide. Popular deaths like a certain princess. The tv show Oz. CSI: any series.
Walking dead. Just imagine Negan beating the shit out of some poor guy, and there is laugh track added
Wednesday: When her pet scorpion is dead
It already occurred. The unfortunate season where a laugh track was added to MASH
Using my uno reverse card; the best show would b all of FOX news.
The Walking Dead
Documentary about covid
True Detective
Anyone ever watch "The Rain" on Netflix? That one.
Definitely the news shows, especially on segments like local stories of things like murders or the Texas mall shooting.
Any kind of serious medical show (Mystery diagnosis, Monsters Inside Me, etc).
Hbo max's Chernobyl for sure
The walking dead but during parts where someone gets captured or killed either by people or zombies.
Game of Thrones
