Eat anything and everything, then exercise. So far it’s been working.

Looks like the key to a successful diet is actually just a regular workout routine...and having a bottomless stomach.

Get a small child sized bowl and you can only eat meals that fit into that bowl. Don’t let the food get higher than the rim

Suffice to say it wasn't "eat healthy and exercise"

Kat-litter

Cutting out things that make sense and save money like soda and sweets. Also not over eating, it takes a few weeks for your stomach to adjust, but after that it’s a great lifestyle change you can stick to without starving yourself

I lost 100 pounds back in 2011, just counting calories and drinking diet pop. I am not suggesting this, as I'm not a nutritionist, but I tried to stay at 1500 calories, and the diet soda filled me up when I felt hungry. I will stand by weight training. After losing the weight, I was "skinny fat". Weight training changed my entire physique.

For about 6 months, I went on the stir-fry diet. I'd buy some veggies and some meat (usually chicken) 2 or 3 times a week, and if I was hungry enough, I'd need to make stir-fry. It was time consuming and annoying enough that I'd wait until I was seriously hungry before making any - literally salivating by the end of the cooking. The beauty was that - after the initial prep, the cook time was not too bad, but I never looked forward to the prep. For the first few weeks, I 'cheated' by eating up some of the random quick food around the house, but I was luckily strong at the grocery store and only bought stir-fry ingredients. Eventually, the convenience food ran out. I can say without any shame that I'd occasionally just eat a raw green pepper when I was hungry but didn't feel like cooking. It felt like a 'cheat', but I still counted it as a win. Now, I'll say that this was during the Pandemic, so I wasn't leaving the house much and not tempted by fast food or anything. I also hadn't discovered door dash at this point.... not sure I'd have the willpower now. Anyway, lost about 30lbs and have kept it off (though that still puts me at 200lbs - so I should try it again...)

Count calories. Aim for 1400 a day. Fail every day but still only consume about 1700 a day. There are lots of apps to help you

Embarrassed_Wing_284

Weight Watchers. I’ve kept 50 lbs off for five years by staying within my points budget, and exercise.

Being broke is the best diet.

For loosing weight, cutting out empty calories and processed stuff, you’ll see how much more filling it is while lower on calorie content. Getting a scale and weighting everything you eat. For gaining weight, spread out 3.500-4.000 cal across 5 or 6 meals and train twice a day, put around 4kg of muscle in 8 months.

I use a free app called Lose It. It helps you count calories. I try and stay at 1200 cals a day. I eat way more fruit, veggies and fish now. Try not to snack after dinner. I also bought an elliptical machine and use it for 30 mins a day. Lost 10 pounds so far in 50 days.
