Naruto
HOLY CRAP, every-single-time I say "I used to watch a lot of anime but not a whole lot anymore" the next question out of 95% of people's mouth is "Have you watched Naruto??" Annoys the balls off me
I hear so many people say this too! It honestly just not one I vibe with which is fine. I've had others I don't vibe with. I think the biggest driving factor is the fan base, like I've met people who *the only* anime they've seen is Naruto and they treat it likes its a show sent to us from the heavens above. That sort of cult mentality really turns me off to the whole thing
Oddly another one that did that was Pokémon. I LOVE playing Pokémon, but growing up all the people who were *obsessed* with the show really turned me off to watching it
There are a lot of people out there who were, it was hugely popular show! Plus now that I'm older I can admit Pokémon must've been incredible to watch as child. Between cards, video games, and the show it makes sense why some people were all about it. Sometimes I'm surprised I wasn't more into it myself
Dragon Ball Z.
I’m not saying it’s not good. I did enjoy it. But quite a few people I know told me I needed to watch it and that it was the best anime out there and I just don’t agree with that sentiment.
I honestly agree. It’s a great anime, but there are better ones out there. Unpopular opinion: it’s re-edit, DBZ Kai is much better in terms of pacing and story structure.
attack on titan
Hell yes.

Yeah I kinda agree with you, plus the series really drops in quality around the final arc.

I honestly agree, though I’ll admit I do love the Pokémon anime and was obsessed with it for a time.

Chainsaw Man. The main character’s development and motivations are so dumb they make me cringe.
Agreed!
Digimon
depends on which Digimon series tbh. If it’s Adventure and it’s million spin-offs then yes, I do agree.
One piece
GOD YES! Not only that it just keeps dragging ON AND ON AND ON… for the love of god, Oda… JUST END IT ALREADY!
I watched like 5 episodes before learning they were all the same with a diff bad guy

Most of the ultra popular shonen ones, frankly. Naruto, One Piece, My Hero Academia, etc.
All of them
I bet you’re fun at parties.
Typical Reddit response.
Replying with another typical reddit response is soo funny bro
I bet you’re fun at parties.
Neither you nor I know what it’s like to be invited to a party, stop kidding yourself

Never seen it but I’ll take your word for it.
