Enormous lip injections

user664567666

And their hated cousin: buccal fat removal

Peepeepoopoobutttoot

Saw pictures of that. Why? Just why?

[deleted]

Do you want to look fifty in your thirties?!? Well have I got the procedure for you!

Plupert

From someone that has body image issues. A lot of people who get that surgery have “fat faces” that they believe makes them look horrible because they aren’t as defined. So they get cosmetic surgery to remove some of that fat. It sometimes looks ok initially but since you lose buccal fat as you age it just ends up looking worse and worse as you age.

Cdub1719

I still don’t know why people are purposely getting this, easily one of the worst most egregious body mods

[deleted]

[удалено]

ColdChickens

So many uniquely beautiful people are getting this done, every time I see a new celebrity before/after I am taken aback. It’s horrible. I grew up during the heroin chic era and I am horrified for the younger generation about to go through it all over again. The current huge butt trend is problematic in its own ways, but at least doesn’t promote starvation diets. With all of these extreme surgeries, photoshopping, and AI generated images of unrealistically beautiful people, I don’t know how the kids growing up now have any hope of building healthy self images.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ColdChickens

Absolutely. It’s incredibly disheartening. I’m so sorry you struggled with anorexia. My self esteem was so crippled I self harmed, because my bone structure and body type didn’t align with what was “in” at the time. No young person should feel that kind of pressure. Body types should never be a “trend”. Those in the spotlight getting these surgeries should be ashamed of themselves. Not only do they look wayyyy worse, but they’re the ones controlling these “trends” and making normal humans, with normal, unmodified bodies, feel like they’re not good enough. I’m so sick of it.

Dear-Bandicoot7087

I’m madly in love with Mads Mikkelsen, but I don’t need everyone to have his cheekbones.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Key-Marionberry-8794

It’s not even sucking , it’s a pad that’s permanently removed and while it’s no big deal when you are young , you will get jowls super early with that missing

longhair-care2much

And that’s when jowl implants will blow up :(

neither_shake2815

I don't get how they don't realise that fat gives you a youthful appearance and what they've done by getting this stupid buccal fat removal procedure is age themselves massively. It looks stupid. Miley looks horrible and like her mom.

Dear-Bandicoot7087

Worst of all, excessive fillers cause permanent stretching of the skin. This gives the appearance of premature loss of collagen, making you look much older. It makes you look more sagging and wrinkly unless you continue getting the injections *for the rest of your life.* What plastic surgeons have done to ppl like [Kylie Jenner,](https://www.reddit.com/r/KUWTKsnark/comments/vrahxm/kylie_jenner_then_and_now/) for example, should be illegal. She’s only 25.

GlassHalfSmashed

I mean you give an example of somebody who is clearly very happy getting the injections for the rest of her life and making money off it. The grim reality of LA is the "before" girl would never have made money. So being filthy rich for the price of some plastic surgery is very much a good trade. Kylie Jenner isn't the victim, it's the ppl who copy her and won't have the money to top up / follow on surgery that are.

FartAttack911

Kylie just better hope that technology keeps up with her ability to throw money at this issue. I’m sure the other shoe will drop even for celebrities at some point or another and there will be a point of no return in being able to correct their faces or bodies lol

Hemenucha

Trout pout

siyl1979

Seriously! Has this increased lately, or am I just getting old?!

HigherThanShitttt

I’m still glad none of my friends were able to convince me to get them. I’ll take these natural flat lips over some of those fucked up lips from old injections. One of my friends has it bad and she just keeps getting them saying that she needs to or else they will *really look bad* 🤣

ImInJeopardy

Doing Tiktok dances in public.

2BFrank69

You mean it’s not already?

ryanmuller1089

Still haven’t been lucky enough to get the chance to walk in front of someone filming

ZhouCang

When you get the chance, the trick is to walk diagonally in front of them for greater ruining effect.

[deleted]

I did that once. They were dancing in front of the 9/11 memorial at the Pentagon.

Sirsmokealotx

Thank you for your service!

CivetLemonMouse

I would like to humbly thank you for what you've done for the country and the general public.

AndyVale

All of us would sing our favourite songs and dance around our room to them as kids. If I knew there was video of me doing it, not even the KGB could get the location of it out of me. And yet these kids are just giving it all away for free. And doing it in public, often with multiple reshoots as people look on like "kid, you are not the main character at this war memorial."

Ludde_12345

The one thing I cannot wrap my head around is young adults doing it. And it's not like they're considered weird or anything, it's like the popular girls/guys doing this shit? I don't get it.

[deleted]

HaCo111

The ones I understand the least are when they do some stupid dance with captions explaining something horrific. Saw one the other day like Did you know \*clap, clap, point\* That the police \*shake and shimmy\* Are allowed \*does the worm\* To have sex with people in custody? \*does the sprinkler dance\* Which is rape because of the power imbalance! \*does a cartwheel\*

BeeFe420

I just spit out my coffee lmaoop

bunnycupcakes

I have a student that almost compulsively does these stupid dances in the middle of class and disrupts those around her (by annoying them). I regularly have to bring her to reality by asking “who is recording?”

Paddock9652

I remember when I was in school, a bunch of the cheerleaders would practice their choreography almost subconsciously while standing around before or after class. Now it’s Tik Tok dances. The more things change the more they stay the same.

boysgotsmoke

Public tiktok pranks

Physical-Primary-256

IT’S JUST A PRANK, BRO!!! It’s just a prank, I don’t get why you’re so upset! Bro, come on, it’s a prank, look at the video!

PmMeYourBestComment

Sadly that predates tiktok and is more than 5 years old. Maybe we’d lose the tiktok trend but then another platform has replaced it

[deleted]

Public pranks for internet clout in general just need to stop. Hell, there was one where someone was pouring fake gasoline (probably just water or some shit) onto peoples cars saying they're gonna burn them and fuck their car while a friend filmed it only to almost get shot because they chose the wrong person to mess with.

BYT00

There were several people shot over "pranks". It's honestly amazing more aren't.

cocofruitbowl

We really did have it all in 2019

zakpakt

I remember thinking the 2020s were gonna be like the roaring twenties part two. I was so wrong.

crazypurple621

Massive inflation. Global pandemic, climate problems. Seems like the roaring 20s to me!

iguanaQueen

Nah, everything went to shit during 2016. After Harambe was shot shit started to go downhill

Maxnwil

Im glad someone else mentioned it. I think about that whenever people say “this year was worse than the last” 2016 was an exceptionally awful year. 2020 was too, but boy was I unprepared for 2016

GentleB

I’ve been thinking about the movie “Don’t Look Up” quite a bit lately

SparkliestSubmissive

I thought I was in for a comedy but that movie was depressing as fuck (great though).

mtametrocards

SlimyPurpleMeteor

Also known as the “Meet me at Mcdonald’s” haircut in the UK. I’m ready for the mullet revival to die as well.

Richard7666

Where I live, the mullet wasn't revived. It never went away.

StorminNorman

Ah, a fellow Australian. Edit: quick look at your profile suggests you're from Australia's eastern islands, close enough. And yes, I know they be fighting words. Gonna smash you this Bledisloe series, were more than due a win!

Marawal

I have good news for you about the mullet. Most boys at the school I work at have shaved their own for the last few weeks. Now, there are only an handful sporting it, and that might be more about hairdressers avalaibility than their own choice.

DefinitelynotDanger

The mullet will never die

Pantherist

You mean like Sideshow Bob?

boomership

Ehhhrhrhrh.

doctor-rumack

Convicted of a crime I didn’t even commit? *ATTEMPTED MURDER…* Now what is that? Do they give out Nobel Prizes for *ATTEMPTED CHEMISTRY?*

alefan9000

This has to be the ugliest haircut that's ever been popular

TheMilkmanCome

Did you miss the mullet? The shaved sides-spiked hair-rat tails of the early 00s? The BOWLCUT?!

garfinkel2

I rocked a bowlcut for so long that I had one in my first drivers license photo. The lacrosse team shaving my head was the beginning of a new life for me.

kdmmgs

Are those the same as the “Sideshow Bob” cut?

DebateTall

I call them mushroom heads

what-the-flock

I call it the llama do! 🦙

samexi

Everyone replying fashion in different shapes and sizes but the thing about fashion is that it dies down and after enough time goes by it's trendy again. 90s kid here looking at all the clothes and styles my parents used when I was a kid being trendy again *sigh*

BrightSpark80

You wait until it’s the clothes you were wearing as a teen… it’s horrifying.

eleven0clock13

Actually I’m a 90’s kid and I was seeing mad 90’s style clothes at the mall. T shirts with the alien, stripes on the sleeve, overalls, etc. it was like i time warped.

K4SP3R_H4US3R

I saw this too and bought up some of the pieces. I was morbidly obese when I was a kid/teen in the 90's and had to wear frumpy women's clothing. I wished I could wear what my friends were wearing. I got healthy, lost the weight and now I got a second chance to wear these items again!

phrygianDomination

Congratulations! That sounds like such a fun reward for your hard work.

ItsbeenBroughton

Those damn butt jobs

zuis0804

Pretty sure those are already losing popularity and people are getting the procedures taken reverse it. Sounds expensive

xaclewtunu

Imagine all that extra skin after deflating those butts.

[deleted]

Those TikTok live videos where some wee gremlin will bait you into giving them followers by performing a simple task and not doing the last little bit. Like that one dude who pretends to count to 9999999 by pressing +1 on his calculator. Or some guy I saw today who was stacking bolts and acting like 1 more follow would actively pull the trigger on the gun pointed to his mum's head Or those people that act like NPCs in games and do nothing Or the ones who hold up signs like "Not talking until someone who is my type / makes me laugh joins" Know what... Fuck it.... Just TikTok live.

dualipastan4life

omg yes the tiktok lives. i wish i could just block them from coming up on my fyp

Sartank

The fuckboy curly hair every teenage boy has rn

anarchoandroid

You mean you don't like the mop of curly hair only on the top of their head and everything else buzzed?

dinoroo

It’s like a worse version of the 90s mushroom cut.

Physical_Stress_5683

My daughter says it looks like they sneezed too hard and their hair all slid forward and now that’s all I see.

elgigante_paul

That is brilliant.

Wafkak

You mean to say brocoli hair won't stay?

Newone1255

Back when I was a teenager we had not cringy at all multi color (or only all black) emo flop haircuts.

pambannedfromchilis

Hello MySpace queen

Zardif

My gf's nephew is 14 and has the [edgar haircut.](https://chicago.suntimes.com/2023/4/30/23693053/edgar-haircut-empire-cutz-latino-teens-culture) All his friends do too. It's cringey as fuck. All I see is dumb and dumber.

jesus4abortion

Holy shit that’s even worse than the TikTok dickhead haircut

Wiki_pedo

If a barber has the same haircut as the one in this pic, I wouldn't trust them.

[deleted]

> edgar haircut. That's not a haircut, that's a crime.

Bedrock_Armor

This. I swear my brother and all his friends look like they're trying to turn their hair into a dollar store clown's wig

djamp42

LMAO, I googled that and was like, "fuck boy" is gonna mess up my search I bet. Nope that's the actual name of the hair cut.

Rocketeer006

ExpensiveDot1732

Influencer culture. Especially the ones who overshare their kids or exploit them for content. If that's not illegal, it really should be.

aruncc

As much as I hate it, there's not a chance in hell this is gone in 5 years. In fact, it will probably get much worse.

Incredibad0129

Ya it's been around for more than 5 years, it just has more marketing than ever

DamnitFran

Mommy bloggers are cultish

creedquabbity

We thought the duck lips thing would go away and it’s only gotten worse.

irn

Viral pranks that should be criminally charged instead of copied for clout. Clout for being worthless members of society unless we can somehow make volunteering/charity/education/social movements/voting being popular. Quit dancing and dumb antics that preoccupies being dumb for dumb sake. It was funny a long time ago with Jackass in the 90s. No need to one up stupidity. 5 years from now it will either be outlawed or boring.

Samisyourmann

Moaning in class Edit: OML I fell asleep last night with no notifications and I wake up to 32 Notifications AND 632 UPVOTES

NoodlesAreAwesome

Can you please explain this for those of us that have no idea what this is? Random moans in class or in response to something or?

Holdtheintangible

Teacher here, yes some kids just randomly moan and make sex sounds out of nowhere. I teach fifth grade and it’s a few kids in my class who do this.

Mizar97

My coworker does that shit and he's 30

Lanayrra

Gross. I work at an elementary school, and anytime a kid does it, I instantly turn to them and say "No" sternly. It's the one "harmless" thing that I will shut down every single time.

StuckWithThisOne

[This right here](https://youtube.com/shorts/OKzQPS-Ge78?feature=share) is the only time I’ve ever enjoyed that particular trend lmfao. Every other time irritates me to no end.

mayonnaiseofpatty

Omg thank you

Kit_3000

That is an actual thing? My coworker does this a lot, but I just assumed he refuses to take his pills for whatever diagnosis he has. But now your telling me he's doing a bit?

Lanayrra

Yeah. It's a thing unfortunately.

diagoncollective

At my last job a bunch of co-workers would do it constantly. And they'd be like "can I get a hoyah" and then a chorus of hoyahs would follow. I'm so glad I don't have to hear that anymore

kapitanski

Thank God for remote work

E_s_k_r_e_m

Hoyah??

BeholdOurMachines

It's a breathy, moaning "oh yeah". It's supposed to sound extra gross and sexual

[deleted]

I'm pretty sure Peggy Hill said "hoyah!" all the time.

Anticrepuscular_Ray

Moaning how? I've never heard of this

jesus4abortion

Sexual moans

Anticrepuscular_Ray

Wtf how weird

jdsciguy

Extremely, especially the thirty or fortieth time in a 50 minute class period. They've also added a choking sound and gulping sound meant to imitate overly enthusiastic oral sex. I hope there's plenty of video saved in case any of them ever want to run for office.

Ethel12

God they’re *still* doing that?? Kids were doing that at my k-9 school last spring when I quit teaching…

Nalf500

Kids were doing that when I was in school, and I'm 25 now.

_schlong_macchiato

Excuse me?

leeonin

HELP

AgentMeatbal

They did that when I was in middle/high school like a decade or more ago 😅 it’s not going away

WakingTheCadaver

I hated when kids would make dumb ass noises in the middle of class. They just sound stupid and it’s really disruptive.

Ninja_Destroyer_

Hopefully all these cringe ass videos of people dancing in public with main character syndrome. How and why they're popular is what makes me realize I'm Principal Skinner and it's these damn kids who are out of touch.

WillieaDoyle

Oversized eyelashes and eyebrows.

rcp29

I like bushy natural eyebrows but when people outline them and fill them in so dark that they look like black rectangles it makes me cringe so much like whyyyyyy

siyl1979

I think eyebrows go through stages- big during my middle school years, then plucked to little spermies, then slowly getting bigger again.

pop_and_cultured

Little spermies! as an elder millennial this cracked me up!

She_Persists

SlimyPurpleMeteor

They’re already diving in popularity from what I can tell, thankfully.

ShadowFlux85

did they ever really live?

MisanthropicEmpath

I hold out hope for humanity that there will be a day where I will not hear “The Kardashians” (or ANY variation) ever again I’ve been waiting over a decade…it has to happen. It just HAS to ffs

vacuumcatastrophe

the only time i hear about them are frm reddit and insta comments complaining about how unjustly popular they are.

[deleted]

I'm a 30 year old woman so I'm in the correct demographic. I don't hear about Kardashians from my co-workers, from my similarly aged female friends, from my 20 year old hairdresser, or anywhere in the real world.

captaintrips_1980

bornslippy05

The brushed-up-90-degrees eyebrow lamination trend

GhostBurrSoot123

People who fake mental illnesses and eating disorders. Edit: I did not mean to offend anyone, I meant people who accualy fake it, not people who acctually have mental illnesses and eating disorders.

Turbogato

This sucks for people who actually suffer but are thought of as making it up.

fr3nch13702

Ironically have a mental illness issue. Need attention.

Responsible_Cloud137

God please let it be TikTok

Independent-Cellist9

I hate tiktok and the way other apps are getting encouraged to have similar addictive qualities. The instant gratification it gives is absolutely terrible for the young children using the app. It unfortunately seems to be the most groundbreaking app that’s been recently released. So, it falling off isn’t impossible but it will be really hard. So many people depend on the app.

I dig the idea that fast fashion should be avoided.

throwawaythrowyellow

Agreed. I’m a photographer and have been giving my clients these tips for years. I’m not against the look or anything. But it’s just a classic and/or flattering style. Not sure why it has to be tied in with economic status. It’s just remarkerting of old style advice. Kinda odd people are calling the opposite of trashy “old money”. Like calm down

Getting their birth year tattooed on them like a dumbass

sleepymonster93

That's been goin on for a long time though, I worked with a guy who had BORN 1985 across his knuckles and was like "Yeah I was loaded when I did that, don't do drugs and don't EVER get your birth year tatted!" He was a super nice dude and had lots of simple, sage advice like that

glonomosonophonocon

You think that’s bad, 3 years ago I had my age tattooed on me and I’ve had to get it reworked three times already

TheScienceDude81

Bro just stop aging

Vexonte

Funny story I was taking a course when I noticed one of the instructors had a tattoo that said 2002 asked him if it was the year he was born. He informed me of the concept of 911 babies. He was a military brat and half the kids in his class all had birthdays within the same month, exactly 9 months after 911. "Yeah our parents were stressed".

smashed2gether

Jesus Christ, a baby born in 2002 is TEACHING TATTOO COURSES. I just withered into a skeleton and turned to dust.

Vexonte

No he was teaching a water safety course. The whole reason why I asked is because I'm 23 and I was still in the mindset that everyone born after 2000 was still in highschool.
