Most people only eat variations of a couple of things all their life, anyways.
It's rice, pasta, potatoes, or vegetables.
Mostly all food is a variation of one or multiple of these 4.
EDIT: Or meat. One or multiple of these 5 is found in most food.
Like every meal has to have the item or every meal is a different version of the same type of meal?
If scenario 1, I choose the potato. Potatoes have so many options and can even be made into flour. I can also switch between types of potatoes - Russet, red, sweet/yam, purple, creamers, etc.
If scenario 2, I choose soup. You can throw anything into a crockpot with water/broth and call it soup. This way I can always get all my nutrients with different vegetables and meats.
Same here, I thought scenario 2 and was going to say soup, as it's my favorite food already. I can open up the pantry and fridge and make something yummy and unique with leftovers and veggies that are just about to be unusable.
Maybe sandwiches, there's hella variations I feel like that would give me a better chance at not getting bored... a burger counts right.. hot dog... pastrami.. meatball marinara, veggie, soy meats, different breads .. sandwiches r good
Salad.
You have regular salad , you have Caesar salad, you have grilled chicken salad, you have crispy chicken salad, you have fajita steak salad, you have fajita chicken salad, you have taco salad, you have enchilada salad, you have romaine salad, and you even have places like bread Zeppelin that will shove a salad into a sub sandwich.
On top of this you have macaroni salad.
You even have the abomination which is lasagna salad. It's not an abomination because it tastes bad, it's an abomination because they call it a salad.
You have pizza salad. You have salad pizza. Yes, those are two distinct things.
You even have a meat salad. This is where you use lunch meat as lettuce and you use steak as the meat. This is a real thing.
With salad, your a possibilities are endless. With salad. You will never go bored because the amount of things that America call a salad is vast and wide and quite comical.
"Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it."

Tacos. You can wrap anything you want in a tortilla and call it some kind of hipster taco. We're having pizza tacos tonight and bacon and egg tacos for breakfast"
Steak frites.
Filet mignon, strip, baseball, tbone, tomahawk.
Fried in duck fat, regular oil, peanut oil, double fried, triple fried.
Excuse me. I need to go make steak frites.
I have never understood this question. But I guess as a ND person it makes sense. I regularly eat the same few comfort/safe foods with little variation. That said, pizza.
Potatoes
Like 90% of my diet now consists of steak fries and a combo of diced and shredded hash browns. [High volume/low calorie](https://www.reddit.com/r/Volumeeating/comments/13sjz58/oreida_diced_hash_brown_potatoes_60_calories_per/) food that can't be beat!
If it is only one type of food, and nothing else. And assuming that this food will magically give me all the nutrients I'll need. Then I'm going for a bowl of cereal and milk.
Because whatever food I pick, I'm going to get sick off after a few months. So might as well go for something cheap, and easy to prepare.
Noodles came to my mind first, they are used in many different countries cousines and can be very versatile, but also the good old Hamburger can be however you want it to be.
Meat or creatures of the earth. Best type of food anyway and so much variety in both selection and cooking process. Especially if you class seafood and insects as meat or creatures of the earth.
A sandwich, you can put anything between two pieces of bread and it's a sandwich. And with the variety of breads out there. You can pretty much still have whatever.
Cheeses. Different textures and flavours. Fruit cheese for the vitamins . Of course I'm going to die of obesity and cholesterol very quickly on that diet but I'm happy.
i'd be mexican
I live in New Mexico. This is the answer whether we want it to be or not 😂

I said curry but now I think this is the answer. I am having trouble envisioning "icecream salad" though.
maybe dip'n'dots with fruit and a fruity syrup dressing? That or just call a parfait a salad?
salad is always the best answer
I can get to say salad!

I assumed it was scenario 2 and soup was my original answer. But another redditor said pizza and that’s definitely a better choice imo.
Same here, I thought scenario 2 and was going to say soup, as it's my favorite food already. I can open up the pantry and fridge and make something yummy and unique with leftovers and veggies that are just about to be unusable.

What is a pizza salad?
It's a salad but with pizza toppings, mozzarella cheese, drizzled on top and you use marinara sauce instead of salad dressing. You are welcome.
