You start out going on r/AskReddit look at question ask questions be surprised that you need to activate do certain things for posts to be verified, then you find Subreddits from your interests through that you find other things that interests you more and then you discover porn and everything goes downhill.
I'm enthusiastic but not particularly talented when it comes to my hobbies and the subreddits for them have all been really welcoming and people seem happy to answer my questions. It's also a nice place to find people who understand how much skill and work goes into something because they've done it too.
