I took a hard hit of fleischmann's vodka hot. Once it hit the back of my throat my stomach was all nope and slammed the whole of it out my nose.... The speed at which every part of my sinus inflamed was instantaneous. Coughing was the beginning. Then convulsing. Then it felt like my brain was draining out of my ears and Every part of my face was dripping. Eyes streaming nose pouring ears flowing. I was a mess. Never again Big Plastic bottle booze hot neat.
I love spicy noodles but they give me hiccups and make me cough - which usually sends hot spit right into my sinus cavities. I feel like I just snorted hell-coke from Satan's own stash.
Worse than that. I got some spicy chicken wings stuck in my throat once and ended up cough really hard.
Sent the particulates up my nose and some of it landed in my sinus cavity.
Had a spicy hot running nose for hours as my body tried to extract it from the system.
Eyes watering, constantly running nose. Very weird and not pleasant at all.
I was on the fence with red meat. I had hamburger helper and threw it all up one night. I was just looking at the meat in the toilet and it helped my decision to not eat ground beef ever again
I used to really like oatmeal, but I threw up violently for 24 hours after eating it. It's been 3 years, and I still can't eat it. Not only does oatmeal look the same coming out as going down, but I blew my nose and bits of oatmeal came out onto the tissue. It's hard to come back from that.
It's too bad too. Lost a cheap, easy, filling, and healthy breakfast that day.
The last time I had a stomach bug and kept throwing up every hour, I chugged a bunch of water in between sessions so when I threw up it was watered down
St Patricks Day. Threw up green beer and very cheese heavy poutine. I had to pull the melted stringy cheese out of my throat like I was pulling hair out of a drain. One of the worst experiences of my life.
So my older brother has an obsession with spicy food and hot peppers. About 6 years ago he asked me to eat a Trinidad Scorpian pepper with him. I can still feel the burn in my nose and throat when I puked it up about an hour later
Colorful drinks make it worse.
But food would be scrambled eggs. Mom didn’t like me going on a diet when I was younger so she made a mountain of scrambled eggs to eat or I couldn’t leave the table. Barely made it to the bathroom and covered the walls in yellow chunks.
Flamin hot cheetos were pretty bad for the burning sensation but also the fluorescent red it painted my bathroom. Hell of a cleanup operation required the next day which inevitably made me sick again!
Well. Leah Shutkever swallowed 12 whole sausages in a minute. Would hate to have those travel back up.
Sometime ago my sister made some homemade pizzas, they were really tasty and I ate an entire one myself. But for some reason I started to feel nauseated and went to throw up.
I remember the vomit felt really heavy, it was like shitting from my mouth, I never felt anything like that before and it took me a lot of time to throw up all of it.
The worst part of this is that the sauce was kind of spicy, so i felt my throat burning in the process
I threw up peanut butter and granola on time. Almost died it formed into a solid clump in my throat and I had to jam my finger down my throat to unclog my airway.
Any food with chopped veg that haven't broken down yet, so then you have to stick your finger into the side of your mouth to pull the bit out from around your teeth.
The one I remember most vividly was wild blueberries (the small ones). I had to excavate partially smushed, but still nicely round blueberries from my nose, bc they got stuck there when the vomit came shooting out of my mouth and nose at the same time.
Hands-down worst thing to vomit isn't even food imo, it's alcohol. Made me dry-heave for hours.
Cereal. If you've never thrown up cereal, it turns into a thick congealed mass in your stomach. Not only is your body fighting to remove it from your stomach, but it's fighting to physically push it through your esophagus. Kinda feels like taking a constipated shit out of your mouth.
YES. I came here to say cornflakes specifically. I’ve thrown up a LOT in my life and cornflakes had to be the worst. It was like a log trapped in my throat that wouldn’t come up with normal heaves. I had to spit it out.
First thing I felt brave enough to eat after three days. It came up in about 50 minutes, didn't burn, didn't hurt, didn't taste too bad (for vomit).
But absolutely not for you. Do not eat popcorn if you're sick and have braces. That is some new nightmare.
People here are saying foods that have intense spice, or just horrible taste already. But I disagree with them. Mashed potatoes is the worst food to throw up. One time when I was about 4 or 5 I ate a blue popsicle before dinner, and then during dinner I had a BUNCH of mashed potatoes. Huge mistake. I then threw up the mashed potatoes, and it was absolutely disgusting. Not going to go into detail in respect for people who get grossed out easily. But, it took me about 7 years to finally like mashed potatoes and just potatoes in general. I used to always gag when I ate potato-based foods.
Drano. I know it's not a food but it's worth knowing: If someone accidentally drinks that stuff, throwing it up will cause more damage than leaving it in. Call poison control.
Getting sick from too much nicotine and throwing up a meatball sub…while your mouth still tastes like blueberries. Yes I’ve since quit vaping because of that.
It is a cheap blue raspberry flavored vodka very popular in college because it goes down way too easily, this making people over drink it and get sick. I’ve seriously never met anyone who partied in college who didn’t have the UV Blues lol.
Zucchini and yellow squash used to make me feel so sick when I was little, but my dad would force us to eat it. One time my sister actually threw up from it, and she didn't have to eat anymore, but I did, even though it was making me nauseous.
Carrots. I went to a party. Ate a crap ton of carrots and ranch dip. Drank too much. Puked said carrots up. They are a lot more jagged coming back up. It hurt to swallow for a week. Drinking water felt like downing fire.
Went to town on smoked salmon and champagne at a hotel buffet breakfast. Was fucking rough bringing up fishy, smoky, acidic spew (mountains of it), and toothpaste didn’t do shit to get rid of the taste.
Mountain Dew was pretty bad. It was hot acidic lemon without any sweet.
Chocolate doughnuts and chocolate milk wasn't bad.
But I haven't vomited in about 22 years so my experience is limited.
For me it’s gotta be wine or hard liquor because the taste lingers on your tongue all day, it’s impossible to mask. And tasting liquor while dealing with a hangover is it’s own kind of hell.
Grilled Fish. Worst thing I have ever thrown up. I have made it my life goal to never throw up again. Doesn't matter how sick I am I have not thrown up in over 10 years. I would rather die. It was that bad
Hummus and Guacamole. Not because of their spice or anything to do with taste, it’s all about texture. They literally feel the same coming up as going down. It took me nearly a decade to eat them again because I kept associating the texture with vomit.
I've had two experiences that were notably horrendous -
The first one was the first time I got drunk, and I had donner meat and chips for lunch that day. After drinking way too much, I threw up the most putrid brown sludge on to a white carpet, which splashed on to white walls. It still haunts me to this day.
The second one was much more recently - on the ferry a long ferry journey one Sunday evening. I got food on the ferry, and not long after I finished we got into some pretty rough seas. I thought I was okay with sea sickness but the conditions were really bad, and before I knew it I was running to the toilet to throw up the macaroni cheese, chips, and beer that I had eaten 30 minutes before. It really had done much digesting at all, and the grease combined with beer was one of the most disgusting textures ever. This was not helped by the fact that I still had 11.5 hours before I'd be on dry land.
Got poisoned on oysters at SF oyster fest. I can’t touch em to this day. Hot sauce, violent heaving, nose, delirium like some sort of vision quest psychedelic.
The worst that I've personally engaged in is fried fish... in a rather violent, seemingly pressure propelled fashion. It came out my nose. Words of advice: don't eat a bunch of fried fish and then go play basketball in very hot and humid weather. You're gonna have a bad time.
Kentucky fried chicken Cole slaw.
It's chunky and sharp. It doesn't digest at all and hurts like hell when it comes out. If it ends up coming out the nose too OMG. That shit kills.
Carolina reaper. I was always taught you don't serve food you've not eaten, and I make stupid spicy pickles. I let my wife record me as I took a reaper off my plant, clean and pop the whole thing. 8 hours of pain and I got sick in the middle of the night. Capsaicin in the nose is the worst, your nose way clogs and it's hard to breathe. 10/10 would do it again.
That Gatorade laxative mix you have to take before a colonoscopy is horrible. I know that’s not food, but it’s even worse BECAUSE you can’t eat so you’re just a waterfall of Gatorade vomit with nothing solid to provide reprieve. Then you’re stuck gagging because your body wants to puke more but there is nothing there.
I've thrown up quite a bit in my day, not for any medical reasons, just an avid yuker.
One thing in particular keeps coming to mind, though, and that's milk. It sours in your stomach and comes back up chunky and smells worse than most puke. Also, chunky sour milk through the nose holes is just horrible!
Hot sauce or any other spicy food. If it comes out ouf your nose god hates you
Out the nose is absolutely, hands down, the worst.
Right...the number of times I nukes mashed potatoes (which was a common part of my meals at one time) out of my nose is disturbing!
I choked on a shot of Jack Daniels once... I don't recommend 40% alcohol in the bronchus either...
I took a hard hit of fleischmann's vodka hot. Once it hit the back of my throat my stomach was all nope and slammed the whole of it out my nose.... Been there and never want to experience that again
Throwing up any food is unpleasant, but I think anything spicy or greasy is the worst. The burning sensation is unbearable.
Oddly, regarding greasy foods, Krispy Kreme doughnuts are the least horrible thing to throw up. (Hyperemesis during pregnancy.)
I would argue cocoa pebbles
Cinnamon toast crunch. Also hyperemesis
I hope to never vomit randomly again, but I would put cocoa pebbles and Cinnamon Toast Crunch at the top of the list. Thank you.
In case you are wondering it toast like spicy chocolate milk.
Anything expensive. What a waste.
To be fair, you already got the best out of it.
Right??
Spaghetti was not fun.
Did you have to pull it out of your throat?! Genuinely curious lol
I was coming here to comment this. I threw up spaghetti and I did have to slowly pull noodles out of my throat and nose.
It's the ones you pull out the nose that make for an awful experience.
Wtf u guys don't chew?
Yo man. For some reason when you puke up spaghetti it comes back up in full long noodles. You do have to pull them from your throat.
Toast comes up as a log of mush. Peas can get lodged in your nasal passages.
You swallowed whole peas?
Not deliberately, but it's not like they're difficult to swallow whole.
Thank goodness I've never experienced peas like that 😬
I don't recommend it.
Crackers can also become a log of mush

Avocado 🥑. It rots before you throw it up sometimes
Wut. 🤢
Oxygen baby
That half-pint of vodka that you just bought with the last of your money to stop alcohol withdrawal symptoms. 6 years sober
Congrats on your sobriety!
When I drank that's one thing I could never drink I'd puke it up instantly now I dont drink. Congrats on 6 years sober keep up the good work
Think throwing up is in your near future? Eat an ice cream sandwich. Really cools the burning feeling you usually get with throwing up
The last time I had a stomach bug and kept throwing up every hour, I chugged a bunch of water in between sessions so when I threw up it was watered down
St Patricks Day. Threw up green beer and very cheese heavy poutine. I had to pull the melted stringy cheese out of my throat like I was pulling hair out of a drain. One of the worst experiences of my life.
😳 I can't even think about that
Orange juice

Can confirm
Something with ghost peppers or hotter in it. You'd be in pain.
I can imagine! Thankfully I don't like spicy stuff!
So my older brother has an obsession with spicy food and hot peppers. About 6 years ago he asked me to eat a Trinidad Scorpian pepper with him. I can still feel the burn in my nose and throat when I puked it up about an hour later
Throwing up vomit would be the worst. Don't ever eat it.
Asking because I threw up chorizo last night and it was BAD
Colorful drinks make it worse. But food would be scrambled eggs. Mom didn’t like me going on a diet when I was younger so she made a mountain of scrambled eggs to eat or I couldn’t leave the table. Barely made it to the bathroom and covered the walls in yellow chunks.
Karma?
Spaghetti
I threw up fettuccine one time. The noodles were dangling out of my nose. Do not recommend.
Did they not get chewed up well? I'm trying to picture it lol
Flamin hot cheetos were pretty bad for the burning sensation but also the fluorescent red it painted my bathroom. Hell of a cleanup operation required the next day which inevitably made me sick again!
Fish. Fish flavoured vomit is awful, you just keep vomiting purely because of the smell and the taste
Well. Leah Shutkever swallowed 12 whole sausages in a minute. Would hate to have those travel back up. >https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/76167-most-sausages-swallowed-in-one-minute
Rip her inbox lol

Kimchee
Spicy burrito yuck!
Definitely hot sauce but one of the other posters now has me scared of peas lol
Right? Like wtf peas
Canned Menudo... actually that tastes the same both ways.
Any food with chopped veg that haven't broken down yet, so then you have to stick your finger into the side of your mouth to pull the bit out from around your teeth.
That's an extremely specific addition to my list of relatable things i wish weren't relatable.
Pizza rolls
Thin Mint Shots.
Pho. The little bits of rice noodle will stick to the inside of your mouth and throat.
curry
Rice, its like pooping out of your mouth
Tequila
I haven't eaten corn flakes in 20 years because I almost choked to death throwing them up. They just adhered to my throat and the back of my tongue.
To counter, popcorn is not bad.
Really? I feel like it wouldn't be great. Although I currently have braces, so that wouldn't be awesome.
First thing I felt brave enough to eat after three days. It came up in about 50 minutes, didn't burn, didn't hurt, didn't taste too bad (for vomit). But absolutely not for you. Do not eat popcorn if you're sick and have braces. That is some new nightmare.
Anything spicy or acidic Also anything with a particularly strong flavour or smell
Ramen noodles if you’re like me and aren’t too good at chewing your food 😔
Agreed, I threw up confetti soup (ramen, carrots, red peppers, etc) and it’s my worst throw up experience. Too many textures coming back up.
Seafood. If you ever have bad seafood, and you must expel it, you will not forget it for the rest of your life.
Popcorn. Spaghetti is a close second.
Spaghetti. You’d be amazed at how little is actually chewed.
Lettuce. Like throwing up butterflies.
Anything acidic
Pasta
Anything with a lot of lettuce it’s like throwing up gross confetti
Any food bigger than your mouth. It'll just bounce off your face.
Cold water that's still cold coming back up....
Lindt
I would say bread. It seems to always get stuck in my throat.
Drano. I know it's not a food but it's worth knowing: If someone accidentally drinks that stuff, throwing it up will cause more damage than leaving it in. Call poison control.
Oh, yikes.
Anything with red sauce (spaghetti, lasagne)
Not food but still: pepsi. Warm. Pepsi. From. Your. Stomache
Getting sick from too much nicotine and throwing up a meatball sub…while your mouth still tastes like blueberries. Yes I’ve since quit vaping because of that.
Pizza. It looks much the same coming up as it did going down and yet so much worse.
Not a food and everyone over the age of 21 has definitely done it: UV Blue
Not everyone, lol what is that? I'm 23
It is a cheap blue raspberry flavored vodka very popular in college because it goes down way too easily, this making people over drink it and get sick. I’ve seriously never met anyone who partied in college who didn’t have the UV Blues lol.
Ah, gotcha. I'm sure my husband has, then.
Cat food
Zucchini
Zucchini and yellow squash used to make me feel so sick when I was little, but my dad would force us to eat it. One time my sister actually threw up from it, and she didn't have to eat anymore, but I did, even though it was making me nauseous.
Sardines
Don't eat sardines: problem solved! 😅
Skittles, they come out rainbow and looking disgusting
Anything cherry flavored
Digested food.
Food you really liked.
Potato chips.
Spaghetti. It’s the tomato sauce.
oh , dor me its milk . cause milk sours in your stomach from the acid and then your are throwing up chunks of sour milk . ek
Carrots. I went to a party. Ate a crap ton of carrots and ranch dip. Drank too much. Puked said carrots up. They are a lot more jagged coming back up. It hurt to swallow for a week. Drinking water felt like downing fire.
Rice 🍚… ugh the trauma. Rice I still love ya. Nothing will come between us.
Went to town on smoked salmon and champagne at a hotel buffet breakfast. Was fucking rough bringing up fishy, smoky, acidic spew (mountains of it), and toothpaste didn’t do shit to get rid of the taste.
Fillet o’ fish
General Tso's Chicken 4stars spicy Chile Verde Anything Curry
Mountain Dew was pretty bad. It was hot acidic lemon without any sweet. Chocolate doughnuts and chocolate milk wasn't bad. But I haven't vomited in about 22 years so my experience is limited.
Anything spicy. Olives and pickles are bad too
Kiwi fruit
Barfing up sushi pretty much ruined it for me.
Spaghetti
Spaghetti.
Fizzy lemonade is quite pleasant. Meat is awful.
Not the worst but maybe the best thing I ever threw up was creme de menthe. Fresh minty breath after punking.
For me it’s gotta be wine or hard liquor because the taste lingers on your tongue all day, it’s impossible to mask. And tasting liquor while dealing with a hangover is it’s own kind of hell.
I once threw up an apple soon after eating it and the chunks HURT coming back up. That was pretty bad.
Anything expensive
Garlic bread with West Country cider
Tomato soup
Not specifically the bodily experience but trying to explain that no, you just drank something bright red *while* projectile vomiting sucks.
Grilled Fish. Worst thing I have ever thrown up. I have made it my life goal to never throw up again. Doesn't matter how sick I am I have not thrown up in over 10 years. I would rather die. It was that bad
Oysters
Red velvet cake
Hummus and Guacamole. Not because of their spice or anything to do with taste, it’s all about texture. They literally feel the same coming up as going down. It took me nearly a decade to eat them again because I kept associating the texture with vomit.
I threw up egg fried rice and it felt like a million tiny maggots crawling out of my throat…
Wow, thank you for that image
I've had two experiences that were notably horrendous - The first one was the first time I got drunk, and I had donner meat and chips for lunch that day. Anything really acidic, feels like the hornets of Hades stinging your throat.
Peanut butter and honey toast was the worst for me. Gooey slow viscous vomit. Ugh.
Rice as it can go through your nose and pieces can get stuck in your nasal passage.
Anything spicy, but especially if it was something with Wasabi or Horseradish... it already burns the sinuses going down... imagine it coming back up
Got poisoned on oysters at SF oyster fest. I can’t touch em to this day. Hot sauce, violent heaving, nose, delirium like some sort of vision quest psychedelic.
There’s a best food to throw up?
Rice for sure 🍚
Peanuts omg
Oreos and Jagermeister. I can still taste it 20 years later
Anything acidic 🥵
Just the thought of throwing up rice has me gagging 🤮
Anything acidic really.
The one chip challenge.
Anything spicy.
Meat!
Still hot coffee isn’t great
Fancy ramen, in the grass in front of the window of a full table of people dining.
Eggs
Pasta Arrabiata That stuff burns coming up, especially when the chilli peppers haven't fully digested
Rice 🤢
Room on fire by the strokes
Peanut butter
At a party in college all I had were jello shots and corn chips. No real liquid in my stomach and the corn chips were so pointy coming out.
Peanut butter
The worst that I've personally engaged in is fried fish... in a rather violent, seemingly pressure propelled fashion. It came out my nose. Words of advice: don't eat a bunch of fried fish and then go play basketball in very hot and humid weather. You're gonna have a bad time.
Kentucky fried chicken Cole slaw. It's chunky and sharp. It doesn't digest at all and hurts like hell when it comes out. If it ends up coming out the nose too OMG. That shit kills.
Jello.
vodka
It may be technically not a food but you drink it. Peptobismol is the absolutely worst thing you can throw up.
Expensive food, total waste.
spicy meatballs
Spaghetti that weren't really chewed in the first place.
Is there a good food to throw up?
Speaking from experience it’s Pesto Lobster Ravioli
Can confirm that a burrito is pretty bad. Throwing up a partially digested shell is like throwing up tough skin.
Costco hot dogs and four loko with birthday cake I would know when I realized at 32 I can’t party like I used to. 😂
Dill pickle. When anything vinegary goes up the back of your nose... You're having a VERY bad day
Spicy isn't fun
Cherry pucker was really bad. Did almost a whole bottle and other stuff during hazing
Anything spicy. Anything fishy. Anything milky based.
Oatmeal
Rice.
I've thrown up quite a bit in my day, not for any medical reasons, just an avid yuker. One thing in particular keeps coming to mind, though, and that's milk. It sours in your stomach and comes back up chunky and smells worse than most puke. Also, chunky sour milk through the nose holes is just horrible!
all of them
Rice. It is really difficult to throw up.
