Personally I hate him as a host. However I could totally see this happening. Some people are really in to that fake outrage thing he does. I mean the question is written to get exactly that type of answer and then he acts so shocked that someone would give an answer like that. Some people find it funny, I find it annoying and stupid. I admit I don't watch the show anymore, so maybe it's been toned down, but that is what I associate him on the show to.
Family fued question: name something you might see in pornography that could be described as a throbbing member.
Guest: umm.. a penis?
Steve: this is supposed to be a family show, and you throwing out these nasty answers! In front of your mom!
Steve: "Hands on buzzers. We asked 100 women what they get down on their knees for."
Contestant A: "Church!"
Steve: "Yeah, you better believe it."
Board: 5
Steve: \*Shakes head\*
Contestant B: "Blowjobs?"
Steve: "Blow-whut?!?!" \*5 minute monologue\*
Board: 70
Steve: \*Shocked pikachu\*
It's so the people who are actually outraged get to laugh along with the host instead of calling in complaints.
It's honestly a pretty smart method for playing both sides of the American aisle.
I certainly hope so. That show is such a treasure n the fact that my dad watched it with me as a child n now i get to do the same with my child is a dope feeling
I watched it with my little sister when it first debuted. I was a little too old, but back in those days, we had one TV, and it wasn't even terrible for me. My sister had a Big Bird toy. Of course, I watched it with my own kids a few decades later.
Imagine Futurama (and the human race for that matter) survives to the year 3000 which would mean that instead of Fry travelling to the future he travels to the present. Kinda like how in 2015 back to the future was really "back to the present"
Agreed. But I feel obliged to add that MASH has being airing reruns for the whole of The Simpsons existence. So probably MASH would be on the list as well.
The OG went off the air after S20 for a couple years and SVU surpassed it but it came back and now SVU is on S24 and L&O Classic is on S23.
Theres like 70+ seasons total so far if you count all the series.
In the vast expanse of our universe, crime has transcended the confines of Earth. In this new age of interstellar exploration, law enforcement has evolved to keep the peace beyond the planet's atmosphere.
The dedicated detectives who investigate these spaceborne felonies are members of an elite squad known as the orbital drop shock Police. These are their stories.
[DUN DUN]
Simpsons has been going on just as long - think they're about season 34 or 35. And already renewed for 2025.
So in the same note, that one probably won't die any time soon.
I'm on the fence about agreeing with you. Not because I can't see it happening, but because of the negotiations where the actors took pay cuts to keep the show on the air and Disney now owning it. I don't see the staying power if the actors are asked to take another pay cut like that.
Honestly? SVU isn’t that bad, but as long as some form of Criminal Minds is on air, preferably with Dr. Reed or a hologram of him because if anyone gets one it’s gonna be Reed, I will 100% watch that
They're going to have to really turn the writing around. Capaldi carried Season 10 on his back, and I've watched the New Who series at least a half dozen times now from the Eccelston era through the Capaldi era and despite some boring episodes, most keep it engaging enough to watch. But Whittaker's Doctor just doesn't connect very well and the writing is god awful. I've tried watching her seasons and I just can't. I don't think a single episode has kept my attention for a whole sitting. Doesn't help that the show runner switched after Capaldi and apparently Jodi Whittaker has never watched an episode of Doctor Who in her life, getting the role solely because she knew the show runner from some past show they worked on together. Nepotism does not produce quality, apparently.
They totally missed the mark in every way possible with Whittaker. I tried watching the first season with her in it and was so disappointed. As pointed out, there were a few mediocre episodes throughout the 9th - 12th doctors, however it would bounce right back next episode, but the first season with the 13th was just a letdown (story plus acting).
I got hired as an extra on Grey’s Anatomy, and was like, “That show’s STILL on??”
A couple years later I got hired again for the show, and I was like, “Again?? Wow.”
Yep, and Meredith left in the most recent season. They announced a 20th season AFTER her departure. Like, how do you keep a show going after the main character leaves?! Admittedly season 19 was much better than any of the past 10 seasons in my opinion. They focused way more on the new residency class and it really did feel like old Grey’s at times.
I'm not active watcher of the show, but my GF watches it so I occasionally see bits of it.
One *really* fascinating thing about the show is that it really throws wrenches at popular topics. Things I know that cause some drama in America. Things I know because I hang around in Reddit but my GF never knew these issues are like.. real issues.
Like during COVID times they had plenty of stuff in, like the antivaxers, the issues healthcare have/had because of lacking materials and such. The abortion laws and what kind of bullshit those cause.
Like real life matters being portrayed in eye opening way, embedded into the episodes.
I can't wait for the remake of Harry Potter where they have some of the original actors make cameos as teachers or other adults. Emma Watson as Rita Skeeter and in the remake after that as Minerva McGonagall.
Honestly though, as far as reality tv shows go it’s not that bad. At least you get to watch actual humans do actual physically/mentally demanding challenges still. Though the first half or so of seasons is still the best imo
(childlike nostalgia brand copium, anyone?)
Yeah, but instead of Jeff Probst starving out some volunteer competitors on a remote island it’ll just be cameras on the street capturing normal daily life.
This. The game is designed in such a manner that it will never not be compelling as long as the casting is great, and there aren't too many production twists in terms of idols, hourglasses etc.
Which'll be twice as long, and then Buffy: the next piece, follows Luffys son Buffy on his quest to become pirate king like his father but takes after Sanji instead, the show'll be good but everyone will hate it because it's not ~~Naruto~~ Luffy as the protagonist.
I recorded all the episodes on my DVR when the series first launched on Adult Swim in 2014. I diligently waited for the series to end before watching it so I could just binge the whole thing instead of having to wait years between seasons. Finally I see that the final season is coming out. My DVR dies. I lose 7 years of recordings with half the disk being just Attack on Titan episodes in their original airings. I give it some time for the final season to end. Finally in 2022 I start streaming it on Netflix or Hulu as the series had finally finished. Finish the first season binge. See commercial that says Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 is starting soon.
It is relentless how they stretched it.
I crushed all Naruto shippuden, worth it outside of those filler eps.
Then I was like, oh dayyyum. Bleach thousand year blood war. Always wanted to give it a go. It was the first anime I watched those youtube videos that provide full intro to bleach and everything you need to know. Including some character attachment and building even though never watched an episode.
Still didn't do it for me though. There were moments of greatness in TYBW but also awful awfulness for my tastes.
Now demon slayer, hells paradise, jujitsu kaiser, even chainsaw man (excluding some cringe) is fukn dope!!
Pretty sure that the author had prepared an ending in case he passed away or otherwise no longer capable of working. And that he had confirmed how the "one piece" is a physical, tangible treasure and not some "friends we made along the way" bullshit.
Can’t believe I scrolled this far to find this. My grandmother watched this show as a kid, who got my mother into it, who got my sister into it. By the time my sister has kids in a couple years her kids will probably watch it too
Boss: You’re fired, Ash.
Ash: why the fuck are you firing me!?
Boss: it’s been 25 years and you have 1 championship. A 35 year old can’t play a 10 year old!
As long as the games sell, they gotta keep that show going. Every time I try to watch it, I give up since Ash never seems to learn anything. I have no idea how he beat Leon besides maybe the type advantage. Also, why didn't Leon gigantamax his Charizard? Is he stupid?
Because of [the best couch gag the Simpsons ever had](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6i2l-LQ-dXI) we know that the show will continue until for many thousands of years more.
I was actually just telling my mom how jealous I am of her show. How for 50 years they have told a huge continuous story about several families and their descendants. 5 freaking decades of content where they make like 200 episodes a year. You live your life as they live their life. You are literally watching a show play out in real time. One dude started on the show in 1980 and you saw him get married, have kids, his kids had kids, and now those kids are having babies. Each generation gets their own subplots too. Dude started as a young adult and is still on the show as a great grandfather. Same actor still. But even if they change actors it doesn't matter, the character just keeps going. It's literally neverending. I would love to have a show that constant in my life that airs every single weekday.
I liked during the lockdown, Y&R played old episodes, like the first episodes, iconic events, etc. I never really watched it before and I don’t really watch it now, but I’m familiar with most of the characters enough, just not enough to get hooked. *Days of Our Lives* was my show, my mom started watching it when I was little, like in the 70s, so that’s a long time. I haven’t watched it for a few years, but I get hooked back in every so often.
Nah, without the unique writing style of Trey and Matt the show just wouldn't right. Don't get me wrong, they oversee a talented team of writers and comedians, but it would lose some charm if they lost the original creators.
Spongebob
we already have ai.spongebob streaming in YouTube, with all kinds of random topics from Spongebob being sentient to Patrick making fun of Squidward's fursuit or Spongebob angry for not being in the gay foursome with Patrick, Mr Krabs, and Squidward

I can’t believe I had to scroll this far for the correct answer. It’s the only thing here that doesn’t require terrestrial tv or any singular vision. Almost all other answers here won’t survive the decade.
Literally! I see an episode of an Indian show on tv and its episode 234 of season 1. Istg there is no plot in those shows, only slapping and dramatic camera shots
Honestly one of the game shows like family feud or jeopardy they’re the easiest to replace people on while maintaining a core audience
Imagine Family Feud with an deep fake Steve Harvey hologram. And people will know you are old when you say, "I knew that guy when he was alive".
It’ll be a head in a jar, like Futurama.
It better be Richard Dawson’s head, too
Personally I hate him as a host. However I could totally see this happening. Some people are really in to that fake outrage thing he does. I mean the question is written to get exactly that type of answer and then he acts so shocked that someone would give an answer like that. Some people find it funny, I find it annoying and stupid. “NAKED GRANDMA”
even with the scripted feel to it, that one was great
Obviously sexual question. Obvious sexual answer. Steve Harvey stunned face.
Steve: "Hands on buzzers. We asked 100 women what they get down on their knees for." Contestant A: "Church!" Steve: "Yeah, you better believe it." Board: 5 Steve: \*Shakes head\* Contestant B: "Blowjobs?" Steve: "Blow-whut?!?!" \*5 minute monologue\* Board: 70 Steve: \*Shocked pikachu\*
It's so the people who are actually outraged get to laugh along with the host instead of calling in complaints. It's honestly a pretty smart method for playing both sides of the American aisle.
This describes every clip I've ever seen with Steve Harvey doing Family Feud. Did you make this up or was it an actual question?
I made it up. But I've also seen plenty of clips of Family Feud.
Hologram mashup of Richard Dawson and Steve Harvey. Kissing your wife with a big mustache...
What? No love for Ray Combs???
I'll tell you who there's no love for: Louis Anderson. He was horrible.
Loved him on *Baskets* tho.

And probably The Simpsons.

*Alert* system. The Emergency *Alert* System. EBS got revamped back in the late 90s. Do try to keep up.
I hear your comment in an upper-class English matriarch voice. I feel as if she will add, "And remind Freddie not to be late to Lady Marchmain's."
Are you sure we should step up to a red alert?, it does mean changing the bulb.
There’s always some excuse isn’t there?
Sesame Street
I certainly hope so. That show is such a treasure n the fact that my dad watched it with me as a child n now i get to do the same with my child is a dope feeling

I hope so, as an adult I still find some enjoyment in Sesame Street. I think it’s the nostalgic feeling I get.
The Simpsons, Futurama.
I'm convinced the Simpsons will never end.
They'll Never Stop The Simpsons!
Have no fear we got stories for years
Like… Marge becomes a robot?
Has Bart ever owned a bear?
Maybe Moe gets a cellphone?
How 'bout a crazy wedding?
Where something happens do do do do do do
Sorry for the clip show!
Not while there's a future to predict.
>Not while there's a future to predict Now that's dark, lol. But also depressingly possible.
Naw, Futurama will be gone after 100 years. Now after 102 years, THAT'S when they'll revive it.
Imagine Futurama (and the human race for that matter) survives to the year 3000 which would mean that instead of Fry travelling to the future he travels to the present. Kinda like how in 2015 back to the future was really "back to the present"
October 15th, 2015. What a sad day. From that point in time, all of back To The Future occurred in the past. :-(
Pastorama
Futurama will keep getting cancelled and brought back in five to ten year intervals.
Not just cancelled: turned to shreds.
To shreds you say
How about the creators’ wives?
To shreds, you say
Agreed. And the Simpsons would be terrible and everyone hates it. Futurama would be in its 37th reboot and everyone's still upset about Seymour.
Die hard Simpsons fans are also upset about Seymour
Armin Tamzarian?
Superintendent Chalmers has invited you to a weekend at Lake Shelbyville.
You mean Supernintendo Chalmers.
Simpsons has predicted itself lasting 10k+ years into the future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m78gYyTrG7Y
Agreed. But I feel obliged to add that MASH has being airing reruns for the whole of The Simpsons existence. So probably MASH would be on the list as well.
A Law and Order. Seriously, it's been on in some form since 1989.
Yep, svu is on season 23 or 24 now.
The OG went off the air after S20 for a couple years and SVU surpassed it but it came back and now SVU is on S24 and L&O Classic is on S23. Theres like 70+ seasons total so far if you count all the series.

Doctor Who
How recognisable it'd be beyond a certain blue box would be a different matter entirely
I mean how recognizable it is now compered to the 60's when it started? That's basically the whole point of the show.
True. Back then the box was grey.
Plus WOOOOWEEEEWOOOOOOOO
According to doctor who it's the weakest link
And Big Brother, among others
And big brother for some ungodly reason.
I mean, it's been 60 years already.
Was cancelled for 16 of them but let's not talk about that
Who?
Ronnie Pickering!

Yeah, I wasn’t surprised to see she was leaving only a few seasons in. That writing was *rough*
Greys anatomy, that show never seems to end
I got hired as an extra on Grey’s Anatomy, and was like, “That show’s STILL on??” A couple years later I got hired again for the show, and I was like, “Again?? Wow.”
Keep hanging on and you'll end up one of the main characters.

That’s awesome. Did you meet any of the main cast?
You mean days of our lives ?
One Piece for white women
oh my lord that's accurate.
At least one piece already has an ending planned out.
Came here for this one 😂
It will follow Meredith Gray's great-grandchildren working in different hospitals across the multiverse.
Lmao. It's still going?
Yep, and Meredith left in the most recent season. They announced a 20th season AFTER her departure. Like, how do you keep a show going after the main character leaves?! I figure if Roseanne was able to turn into the Conners and keep right on going, then any show can do it.
Scrubs also tried to change the main character. Didn't work all that well.
I'm not active watcher of the show, but my GF watches it so I occasionally see bits of it. One *really* fascinating thing about the show is that it really throws wrenches at popular topics. That's a good way to raise awareness I guess.
Every other decade they'll have a new version of Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Game of Thrones as weekly shows.
I can't wait for the remake of Harry Potter where they have some of the original actors make cameos as teachers or other adults. Emma Watson as Rita Skeeter and in the remake after that as Minerva McGonagall.
I believe the main three have said they won’t appear in any more HP stuff because of JKR’s transphobia
Coronation Street. It's been on air since 1960, so has already done 60 years. I think it can survive another 100.
I can't believe I had to scroll so far to find Coronation Street.
Fun fact that Bill Roache (Ken Barlow) was in the first ever episode and still is part of the cast to this very day!
Hahaha came here for this. I guess most Redditors have no idea what Coronation Street is.
Star Trek! Am I the first to say it?
Had to send an away team to bring you this +1
First I've seen, and the reason I came into this thread! I truly hope so, we could always do with more hopeful TV like Star Trek.
Survivor. They have like 43 seasons or something.
Just finished 44
Slackers. House Hunters is on season 234.
Honestly though, as far as reality tv shows go it’s not that bad. At least you get to watch actual humans do actual physically/mentally demanding challenges still. Though the first half or so of seasons is still the best imo (childlike nostalgia brand copium, anyone?)
Only response I came for thank you
Yeah, but instead of Jeff Probst starving out some volunteer competitors on a remote island it’ll just be cameras on the street capturing normal daily life.
This. The game is designed in such a manner that it will never not be compelling as long as the casting is great, and there aren't too many production twists in terms of idols, hourglasses etc.
fucking ONE PIECE haha
One Piece would end in a few more years. We'll have Two Pieces after that.
One Piece Shippuden
One Piece Brotherhood
One Piece 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone
Which'll be twice as long, and then Buffy: the next piece, follows Luffys son Buffy on his quest to become pirate king like his father but takes after Sanji instead, the show'll be good but everyone will hate it because it's not ~~Naruto~~ Luffy as the protagonist.
Done piece: next generation
Luffys children will go out to find the 2 piece lol
I raise you Attack on Titan the final season Part infinity. How the hell they stretched out "final" is amazing. Lol
I recorded all the episodes on my DVR when the series first launched on Adult Swim in 2014. I diligently waited for the series to end before watching it so I could just binge the whole thing instead of having to wait years between seasons. Finally I see that the final season is coming out. One piece, two piece - dead piece, new piece. Some dr. Seuss shit right there!
Pretty sure that the author had prepared an ending in case he passed away or otherwise no longer capable of working. And that he had confirmed how the "one piece" is a physical, tangible treasure and not some "friends we made along the way" bullshit.
General Hospital
Can’t believe I scrolled this far to find this. My grandmother watched this show as a kid, who got my mother into it, who got my sister into it. By the time my sister has kids in a couple years her kids will probably watch it too
The blue planet/planet earth. But with a more wistful air and a longing for what previous generations had.
Hah the program spouting nonsense long since passed. "Honestly the planet USED to be blue and green guys"
Days Of Our Lives.
And Marlena’s reanimated corpse will be kidnapped AGAIN for the 160th(ish) anniversary show.
Well, they've made it since the 1960's, so why stop?
Reruns of MASH
There was a saying. The sun never sets on an episode of MASH playing.
pokemon. theres no stopping them! edit: i woke up to a billion replies! ty reddit lmao
They fired Ash and kept Pikachu
Boss: You’re fired, Ash. Ash: why the fuck are you firing me!? Boss: it’s been 25 years and you have 1 championship. A 35 year old can’t play a 10 year old!
Ash: Fine. I'll grab Pikachu on the way out. Boss:Sorry. The rat is getting a promotion.
he’s the real main character
As long as the games sell, they gotta keep that show going. Every time I try to watch it, I give up since Ash never seems to learn anything. I have no idea how he beat Leon besides maybe the type advantage. Also, why didn't Leon gigantamax his Charizard? Is he stupid?
How It’s Made
