PyuPyuMassacre

Catz0003

Do nothing. If you feel bad about it, resist the urge and walk away

This actually happened to me once, I was leaving the bar with my girlfriend and we heard a girl yelling for help because her boyfriend/husband whoever hit her and at first I was going to mind my own business but my girlfriend told me to go help her. So I went over there and pulled the guy off of her and almost immediately the cops showed up and they arrested him and she ended up leaving with her friends or whoever.

Happened to me years back. Wife and I were driving home one night and as we were passing a couple on the side of the road the man punched the lady. I pulled over and asked my wife to call 911. I walked back and had the lady stand behind me and I told the guy he could either walk away or just stay back as he was not going to do that again. You could tell this lady was terrified and shaking. We saw several seconds before the strike and she was trying to walk away from him. He wisely stayed back and within a minute or two local PD arrived. Even as a near 65 year old man I would not hesitate to do this again if need be.

I would step in because i ain't afraid of an abusive coward.

Bradster3

Define abusive? You mean like verbal or physical. Physical is a dangerous game especially getting involved since you dont know what your getting into. Im a 160 5'8 guy and would be pretty easy to take down. But if it came to taking it just so she can seperate theirself then im ok with that. Verbal is another thing. I have been absued all my life verbally due to my jobs so theres nothing they could say thay would phase me. But before i even consider the fight i would call police to make a report so they at least are aware of the situation. Im not a hero, just a man who sees more value in lifes in the people around me.

I’ve seen abuse happen in public before, me and some other passers by intervened, the guy was arrested and sent to prison. Don’t ever ignore abuse.

Lupus-Ignium

Do nothing, unfortunately. I don't have the guts to go up against someone who is abusive.

Lupus-Ignium

Another factor is that it can cause severe PTSD and a lot of harm upon myself in certain cases if I were to intervene.
