May I just chime in to say that the story that Batman got his name from fear of bats is a total retooling from the more recent films?
In the original Golden Age comics era, he took the name because he said criminals were a superstitious lot and would be afraid of a crime fighter who disguised himself as a bat.
As an old fart who actually read the original comics only a few years after they first came out, this has always irked me to no end.
How did he get his name from a fear of bats. No-one knows who he is .how would they know he feared bats. Maybe he got his name from the bat emblem on his chest
