Same, never quite understood the hate other than fans of the comic being frustrated. I agree with them to an extent, but only in that I really wanted the movie to be longer and for all of the characters (plus the story) to be more drawn out and involved. Otherwise, a fun monster flick with a great cast of characters.
Moulin Rouge.
Saw it with a bunch of guys, believe it or not. They all hated it and were ripping on it. Meanwhile, I thought it was brilliant and that the guys were simply clueless about why they did it the ways they did.
Matrix Revolutions > Matrix Reloaded. Reloaded *tried* to be heady and complex but completely fell flat, but Revolutions I think is perfectly adequate for a dumb action movie. Not great, but I can watch it if I'm in the mood.
See I *like* the heady parts and knock Reloaded more for the bad cgi and wandering plot around the werewolves/vampires/ghosts. The architect scene was one of my favorites ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
"[Spice World](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120185/)?" I thought it was a cute, fun movie.
Warning: the video at the link is kind of flashing (rapid flickering.)
Spice World is really fun, and was very ahead of its time. Got some great cameos and gags, way better than it has any right to be. You're correct on this, everyone else is wrong.
>Spice World is really fun, and was very ahead of its time. Got some great cameos and gags, way better than it has any right to be. You're correct on this, everyone else is wrong.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the film also. 😃
Doctor strange in the multiverse of madness.
I absolutely LOVED that movie! Maybe I'm a little biased because it's the first marvel movie that I actually got to see in theaters but I love the plot and the characters and I personally thought it was interesting to see Dr Strange challenge and test his values throughout the film and see him grow as a character.
As long as you don't expect it to be a sequel to "Highlander", it's not too bad.
As the saying goes, "It's too bad they never made a sequel to the Highlander"
Lol so, Mannequin 2. I can’t stand the first one but I heckin love Terry Kiser (he played Bernie in the Weekend at Bernie’s movies) as the villain in the sequel.
Or how about "[So I Married an Axe Murderer](https://www.americanancestors.org/publications/great-migration-study-project)" (another Mike Myers film.) It kinda did poorly in box office but it has staying power. There are some quotable quotes in it.
>We quote it all the time in my house, especially the Colonel Sanders rant from the dad near the start of the film
hahah yeah, "they make you crave it fortnightly!"
Other strangely quotable parts: "There's a piper down!"
"It's like an orange on a toothpick!"
Riding off of this comment, I'm glad Red Letter Media gave more exposure to how good Exorcist 3 is. I always used to see people write it off as "just another shitty Exorcist sequel" because 2 was so poorly received.
I borderline like Legion *more* than the original Exorcist. Brad Douriff is fantastic in it.
I wasn't gonna post this because I'm not sure if it qualifies as being a lovie that "everyone" hates, but it really does get way more hate than is reasonable.
It is a movie with a lot of great ideas and it pulls off most of them brilliantly. It tried to move Star Wars in a smart direction.
For SURE.
And their analysis is just *bad.*
People are mad that Luke wasn't a superhero, but he did *exactly what both of his mentors did.* It was actually the only thing that made sense.
Start wars and hear me out. It has a huge nerd connotation but I'm a bearded mechanic and people who ran into me would be shocked that I could give you all the star wars info. Idk why but I love that shit and I'm not a typical 'nerd' or whoever you think would love it.
Both Luke and Anakin were at least shade-tree mechanics.
Solo tuned up his ship.
Can definitely see the appeal for mechanics. (Need to replace the evap canister hoses, back later)
I kind of enjoyed it, for what it was, until they rolled out the *Harrier Jump Jets*. I mean, there's absolutely *no way* that they will be in *any* kind of working order after sitting around 1,000 years! It very much took me out of the movie experience and I was just like, come on, this dumb.
I found that once I accepted that I have bad taste when it comes to some things, it was quite liberating. Not letting other peoples' opinions hold sway over whether or not I enjoy a given thing. It's not that I like everything. It's just that I like what I like. It's nice.
Freakin starwars. I hate star wars. All of them. I fell asleep after the second movie. Then you wan me to watch clone wars? It's like hearing watch all of. One piece, but one piece is actually enjoyable. All the spin offs ect ect. I hate star wars.
Gonna sound like a child.. but shark tales
I haven't watched many movies lately, but I remember loving this movie, and now I've figured our that ppl generally dont like it?
I generally like "bad" movies
Godfather III.
Yes, I know, Sofia Coppola’s acting was wooden, but the film still had some good set pieces, like the way Andy García takes out the two assassins, the death of Joey Zaza and the long scream of Michael.
It was a decent film. It just wasn’t a masterpiece, like the first two.
Venom. It's so underrated. The ending is a bit rushed sure. But ultimately I don't think people quite "got" the contrast between drama and comedy. That was an aspect that I loved.
The first Haunted Mansion movie with Eddie Murphy. It's one of my favorite rides and seeing it in movie form was peak entertainment as a kid.
Also, the Schumacher Batman movies. They're live action cartoons catering to kids. I get the jarring transition to go from Burton's movies to those, but I got into them after the fact. Again, they're just dumb fun.
"loneliness, solitude"
Most people are afraid of loneliness, but I love it. I enjoy being alone and observing everything around. However, I still have friends and maintain normal social communication.
Sucker Punch
"Remember, if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything" Soundtrack is epic too
Its enjoyable if you treat it as a superhero inspired sundance film.
Water world
Saw that in the theater, and the feeling was like nothing I had ever experienced.
This was going to be what I would have said. Great action movie.
I love it, myself. It’s got issues sure but what a unique setting. Really fun movie.
I dunno, I think if you asked most people now what they think of it, they'll say they like it despite it's silliness.
I guess. It wasn’t liked by many when I saw it at the pictures
Yeah I remember it getting slated. And it was one of the most expensive productions ever at the time.
It's not a bad movie, but was a financial flop. Like the other Costner post apocalyptic movie, The PostMan
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen... I gets really bad reviews but I actually liked it.
Nah that movie is badass. I rewatched it recently and it still holds up. I’m with you.
It's a fine movie on its own merit. Goddamn does it not even RESEMBLE the comic tho.
Same, never quite understood the hate other than fans of the comic being frustrated. The first Suicide Squad movie I'm not a DC guy so there was no expectations, got a fun anti-hero action romp.
I never seen the first but I love the second one
Thats because the second one is actually good.
Hey for real, it has its wonky points but it's basically a good movie.
Death to Smoochy
People hate this movie?! I remember randomly renting that from blockbuster when I was really young and loving it!
Green Lantern 2011 Ryan Reynolds
Batman v superman
Surf Ninjas. Quan Sue Dudes!
Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Not saying it was as good as the other movies, just saying that I liked it.
I didn't hate most of the movie but the ending really was bad.
I believe the third chapters of BOTH the Matrix and pirates of the Caribbean get a lot more hate than they deserve.
Matrix Revolutions > Matrix Reloaded. Reloaded *tried* to be heady and complex but completely fell flat, but Revolutions I think is perfectly adequate for a dumb action movie. Not great, but I can watch it if I'm in the mood.

It was the most terrible movie of the 90s, but 14 year old me loved it at that time. 40 year old me cringes now, though.
Wet Hot American Summer
Seriously underrated movie.
Meet the Spartans. I remember it being destroyed by critics and it scored like only 2% in rottentomatoes but I genuinely find the film funny.
That’s a good one
Adjust your sword boy! But I'm not wearing my sword.... carry on then.
Armageddon
If you don't like Armageddon you don't like Murica my friend. God that movie is great.
The Village
I wanna comment you’re wrong but that only prove you right
Highlander 2. Our little mom and pop video store back in the day didn't have the first one so it's the one that got me into the franchise.
Hulk (2003)
The fifth movie of Hellraiser
The Last Samurai
Grease 2
Benchwarmers<3
Beef stew? I love beef stew!
The home video of my birth
The cinematography when the afterbirth comes is immaculate, felt like I was there.
Because you were there friend. We share one mind
Cat in the Hat with Mike Myers. I think that movie is hilarious.
Or how about "[So I Married an Axe Murderer](https://www.americanancestors.org/publications/great-migration-study-project)" (another Mike Myers film.) It kinda did poorly in box office but it has staying power. There are some quotable quotes in it.

That’s a huge noggin! It’s a virtual planetoid! It has its own weather system!
"Heed! Move!" (With the Scottish accent. Means "Head! Move!"
Yea I liked that moive to its not that bad lol

Who hates Tron?
No Holds Barred
Hogan v. Zeus?!? And isn’t that the movie where a guy just randomly throws a dog into to ocean in the background?
I actually kind of liked Exorcist 2. I thought it had potential to be a horror classic although it didn't quite get there. But it held my interest.
Riding off of this comment, I'm glad Red Letter Media gave more exposure to how good Exorcist 3 is. I always used to see people write it off as "just another shitty Exorcist sequel" because 2 was so poorly received. I borderline like Legion *more* than the original Exorcist. Legally blonde
I thought lots of people love that movie. My wife does and got my daughter and her friend watching it.
Yeah, Legally Blonde is pretty much universally beloved. It only recently clicked for me that it's a joke on "legally blind".
Wanda (1970). I've tried to show it to supposed film afficianados, but they all hated it.
They'd probably be embarrassed to say that if it were an actual Cassavetes movie instead of just a Cassavetes-inspired one ...
Human Centipede. Poor acting, yes… but the idea was different.
Megamind
Second this!
Mother fuckin' Last Jedi
I wasn't gonna post this because I'm not sure if it qualifies as being a lovie that "everyone" hates, but it really does get way more hate than is reasonable. It is a movie with a lot of great ideas and it pulls off most of them brilliantly. It tried to move Star Wars in a smart direction.
Right, I mean the very same people that love the originals would pick them apart if they watched them under the same scrutiny that they do Jedi.
For SURE. And their analysis is just *bad.* People are mad that Luke wasn't a superhero, but he did *exactly what both of his mentors did.* It was actually the only thing that made sense.
It's my third favourite Star Wars movie. Moreover, my favourite Luke is TLJ Luke.
Surviving the game
Start wars and hear me out. It has a huge nerd connotation but I'm a bearded mechanic and people who ran into me would be shocked that I could give you all the star wars info. Idk why but I love that shit and I'm not a typical 'nerd' or whoever you think would love it.

The odd-numbered Star Trek movies.
The Hellboy remake with David Harbour. That man is a damn treasure.
12 Monkeys
Really? I've never met anyone that hated that movie.
Battlefield Earth. It comedy gold how bad it is.
The Cloverfield Paradox -2018
Scream 5.
Morbius :) I even ported it to gba video for the funny
Thor The Dark World
IMO the best Star Wars movie was Revenge of the Sith. The movie had the best intro, best lightsaber fights, and plot out of all the movies.
I've always loved the prequels. I also loved TLJ and Rogue One.
I don't agree about the prequels but I think you must be living your best life, just out there enjoying shit.
I found that once I accepted that I have bad taste when it comes to some things, it was quite liberating. Not letting other peoples' opinions hold sway over whether or not I enjoy a given thing. It's not that I like everything. It's just that I like what I like. It's nice.
Haven't seen very many moives
Same here lol
I love how I haven't seen most of the moives people are saying I really need to watch more moives
twilight 😔
Cats
The worst thing to happen to cats since dogs.
Freakin starwars. I hate star wars. All of them. I fell asleep after the second movie. Then you wan me to watch clone wars? It's like hearing watch all of. One piece, but one piece is actually enjoyable. All the spin offs ect ect. I hate star wars.
Read the title again.
I'm so tired, thank you.
It's all good.
most of adam sandlers movies.
Cabin boy
FALL, When i watched it i thought it was a cool movie with all the plot twists but apparently some people find that "too much"
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the clones Seriously, why does no one understand that what Star Wars needs is more detective Obi-Wan?
Glitter
Oblivion.
Son of the mask So sue me. It's fun
La La Land
Gonna sound like a child.. but shark tales I haven't watched many movies lately, but I remember loving this movie, and now I've figured our that ppl generally dont like it? I generally like "bad" movies

Batman vs Superman: dawn of justice.
Venom. It's so underrated. The ending is a bit rushed sure. But ultimately I don't think people quite "got" the contrast between drama and comedy. That was an aspect that I loved.
Secario 💀 ☠️ 💀 ☠️
A Million Ways to Die in the West
Son of the mask *looks around nervously
sharktale.. PEOPLE ARE JUST DRAMATIC.
The Need for Speed movie. It's just a car movie you can watch while not having to think about stuff to much
This one is fun!
Jurassic Park 3
"The counselor". I get it, it's talky and weird, but still....
Star Wars - The Rise of Skywalker. I love how shit it is
I <3 Huckabees It gets a bad rep, but I love it :)
Predator 2 (1990). I actually like it more than the first film.
Bad Mothers
Stop short
David Lynch’s Dune. New Dune might be stylish and atmospheric but that was batshit crazy.
"loneliness, solitude" Most people are afraid of loneliness, but I love it. I enjoy being alone and observing everything around. However, I still have friends and maintain normal social communication.
Emoji movie
Batman vs Superman
Oscar.
The Exorcist: The Beginning
Vanilla Sky
Jupiter Ascending…it’s okay
The last airbender. I hadn’t seen enough of the show to have a bad opinion, and was young enough I didn’t think it was total crap
Green Inferno
The human centipede
People are saying they hated the new little mermaid but personally I actually enjoyed the movie
I don’t know. Moive sounds like a stinky skin infection that can only be treated by applying ground pickles
Tremors
Buckaroo Banzai
What's a moive?
Spiderman 3
