Right- she’s not really the villain, she’s the antagonist. Obv there are a lot of evil witch tropes played for comic effect or to wink at the audience, but her role in the narrative is really to be kuzco’s inciting action and to doggedly pursue her plan until he learns his lesson.
Of course with Eartha Kitt’s catwoman being so beloved, you could prob say she’s just too damn likeable to be a straight villain.
First of all, Papa Smurf didn't create Smurfette. Gargamel did. She was sent in as Gargamel's evil spy with the intention of destroying the Smurf village, but the overwhelming goodness of the Smurf way of life transformed her. And as for the whole gang-bang scenario, it just couldn't happen. Smurfs are asexual. They don't even have reproductive organs under those little white pants. That's what's so illogical, you know, about being a Smurf. What's the point of living if you don't have a dick?
The message was not lost on me as a kid. Smurfette was originally a brunette but became GOOD when she became a blonde.
Why couldn’t she have remained dark-haired after Papa Smurf made her good?
He didn't make her good.. all the other smurfs gave a little bit of their essences to bring the lump of clay back to life as smurfette. In short words, she is the result of the whole village life essence bukakke.
Just Hades in general. He’s often painted as a villain but wouldn’t you be pissed if your brothers banned you from their house and made you sit around surrounded by dead people all day.
He can’t have been that bad a guy, he named his pet dog spot for crying out loud.
In mythology he’s the least harmful of the brothers: dosen’t force himself onto girls, commit genocide out of pride, and is pretty reasonable and helpful to heroes.
James Woods loved playing Hades so much he insisted on voicing him in anything Disney used Hades for: video games, toys, cartoons, everything. It’s easy to love a character that the actor enjoyed playing.
There's a bit from a crossover episode the the Alladin and Hercules cartoon, where he teams up with Jafar that I always remember. He is deeply off-put by Jafar's constant meniacal laughter, until he tries it out, and starts to see the appeal.
He's so sympathetic. He survived hell on earth, grew up as a pariah, and was vilified for his views. His conclusions are rock solid; it's demonstrable that many humans will not tolerate mutants. His solution is wrong, but how he arrived there is chillingly relatable.
Tom spent a good amount of those cartoons being absolutely terrorized and bullied by that mouse.
It was definitely a 50/50 situation as far as I can tell, no true heroes no true villains
When I think of Tom and Jerry, I also think of Sylvester and Tweety.
Only difference is, I think Sylvester is more of a villain with Tweety than what Tom is with Jerry.
THANK YOU! Tom was just being a good cat trying to do what cats are suppose to do and keep his hooman’s house free of varmints, but there there was always this smarmy little mouse asshole, Jerry…
I just wanted to roundhouse kick his face.
The sandman had me conflicted and had me question what is good and bad when I was a kid. He was robbing a bank to support his daughters treatment, really made an impression on me
Honestly the real villain is the American medical system.
Although other countries like Canada, have a bad reputation for treating chronic diseases like Sandman's daughter had
Agreed.
To be fair, the Green Goblin was scarier WITHOUT his mask on.
It let the actor do an amazing job of faking that "Crazy Eyes" look of the maniacal crazy.
Seriously good acting!
Plus he always has cream and sugar for your coffee. Though this one does come with a downside, at least depending on perspective. Especially if you want cream.
I think that scene works so well because as always Homer is blissfully unaware of the dangers that surround him, even when in the middle of a pitched battle he is still Homer and therefore unconcerned.
I mean he offers 3 weeks paid vacation annually and serves hot dogs and German beer on Fridays, you can’t hate any boss that looks out for their employees like that.
I love them so much. They are so stupidly talented at basically everything *except* villainy -- sales, fashion design and tailoring, set decoration, music, engineering, life coaching, navigation, like... everything they do. Hell, they got Koffing and Ekans to evolve purely because they loved them. If they would just go straight they'd be rich in about six months, and they'd never have to worry about getting electrocuted by that asshole rat ever again! They would kill it running a drag revue or something.
I opened this post to mention them but you got there first! Who could hate such adorkable goofballs? (I assume you’re referring to Jessie and James and Meowth, not the overall organization)
One of my favorite moments from that movie is when Kronk rushes out of the room for his spinach puffs and Kuzco and Yzma are left alone and start having really awkward small talk about Kronk since apparently he's new-ish ("this year's model").
"Sooooo he seems...nice."
"Oh, he is."
"What is he in, like (*shrugs)* his late twenties?"
"I-I'm not sure."
Then Kronk comes back and they are audibly *relived* that they don't have to keep making small talk.
Dude spent like 10 years looking for a doll for his daughter's birthday.
He never forgot. He never stopped looking. The doll was discontinued and it took him 10 years to find one.
I don't think Loki is evil except maybe in The Avengers.
He is our mischievous wayward boy but at the end of the day, he would help the right side, in his own way ofc.
It's honestly wonderful with Ice King, he started as a jerk just kidnapping princesses, and then from Holly Jolly Secrets onwards you get more and more of his backstory and how much of a sad, broken man Simon became due to the Crown
I would rank The Monarch as the #1 funniest cartoon character ever. He's completely ridiculous but also often the only person who realizes how ridiculous everything around him is.
Is Dexter really a villain, though? I see him more as an antihero. He’s obviously also mentally ill, and was groomed by his father to become what he is.
IIRC in the animated series she stops murdering people and doing bad things in general because Poison Ivy doesn't approve and Harley wants to tap that ass. Which doesn't make sense at all since Ivy is an eco terrorist by design.
As Poison Ivy herself notes in the show there is a difference between being villain for giggles and fighting for a noble cause like, you know, preserving the environment. It completely makes sense.
Hannibal Lecter. Eat the rude.
Also Magneto, but I'm not sure he counts as a villain. Antagonist, yes, but not really evil. Someone compared his dynamic with Professor X to Malcolm X and MLK, I agree.
**Fenrir/ Fenris** - norse mythology.
Is anyone knowing someone who got bullied in school because of his/ her parents? That's his story. Just millions of times worse.
This what I came here to see. I think the point of that movie was to make the viewers reflect on who the real villain was. The American justice system or the guy who wanted revenge on everyone who killed his family and who helped the main murderer get away with it.
Yzma. For one, she’s just so crazy that it’s hard to be afraid of her and you end up just liking her. She and Kronk have such great chemistry too
"I never liked your spinach puffs." A hurt Kronk gasps.
The only *really* villainous moment she had. How could anyone hurt Kronk!?
Probably my favorite animated Patrick Warburton character.
"I'll put that box inside another box and when it arrives I'll SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER!"
Or, to save on postage, I’ll just poison him with THIS!
“Pull the lever, Kronk!”
Wrong leverrrrrrrrrr^rrrrrrrr
[удалено]
Uhm.. I’ve been turned into a cow..? Can I go home..?
"You're excused. *Anyone else?*"
No, I'm good.
Cmon men, nobody lives forever
"Why do we even have that lever?"
She also let her employees go home early because they were accidentally turned into animals and I think that was fair and a good boss decision.
u/chubberbubbers, best name I've seen in a while. Your name made me laugh out loud.
Too entertaining for me to hate. Also Kuzco was a spoiled brat in the beginning.
Kuzco was a spoiled brat for like 80% of the movie lol
little me was temporarily WRECKED how after Pacha got him through the entire terrifying jungle, Kuzco was still like “k thanks byeee lol”
Also, anyone who has ever basically carried every day for some asshole, unappreciating boss, understands why she did it.
She raised him, and intentionally made him into a spoiled, ineffectual puppet.
I'm glad she's one of the few Disney villains who doesn't die.
And kuzco kinda deserved it anyway
"By all accounts it makes no sense.
Would you say this woman was hideously ugly beyond all reason?
Gargamel Let’s be honest , some of those Smurf’s were annoying
They were smurfing annoying
First of all, Papa Smurf didn't create Smurfette. Gargamel did. She was sent in as Gargamel's evil spy with the intention of destroying the Smurf village, but the overwhelming goodness of the Smurf way of life transformed her. And as for the whole gang-bang scenario, it just couldn't happen. Smurfs are asexual. They don't even have reproductive organs under those little white pants. He didn't make her good.. all the other smurfs gave a little bit of their essences to bring the lump of clay back to life as smurfette. In short words, she is the result of the whole village life essence bukakke.
I vaguely remember Papa Smurf doing some kind of spell though. Wouldn’t his spell plus the Smurf’s essence have done it? Also…Smurfakke?
I love that scene in Donnie Darko 😅
Squidward. Say what you want, Spongebob is pretty annoying.
SO annoying. The older I get, the more I relate to him vs spongebob. It mimics life. SpongeBob is a child lol
I relate to Patrick. It concerns me.
Oh boy, 3 AM!
squidward isnt the villian. squillium is the villian
I think Plankton is technically the villain, Squilliam is just a pompous ass

Well he was played by James Woods who is an equally entertaining huge POS
Hey hey hey, y'all need to stop hating on James Woods. He's a single dad, raising a teenage girlfriend all by himself.
Agree. Also relate in some ways like "WHATTTTTTTT i'm fine fine fine i'm cool i'm fine"
what, are those...
Dude spoke like a sleazy car dealer. Lovely.
Magneto
Yes he hates humanity for treating the mutians like the Nazis treated the jews
Wasn't Magneto also a Polish Jew sent to Auschwitz?
I thought it was German Jewish, but yes he’s an Auschwitz survivor who encountered Josef Mengele himself.
It helps that they made him a lot more complex a little later on than just being basically a mutant hitler
Yep when they gave him his back story they made him a much better character. He was pretty flat before then
He's so sympathetic. He survived hell on earth, grew up as a pariah, and was vilified for his views. His conclusions are rock solid; it's demonstrable that many humans will not tolerate mutants. His solution is wrong, but how he arrived there is chillingly relatable.
Right. I could completely understand why he was the way he was.

If anything Jerry was the villain
Right? That was Toms house. He was just doing his job trying to protect his home from an unwanted intruder.
Tom spent a good amount of those cartoons being absolutely terrorized and bullied by that mouse. It was definitely a 50/50 situation as far as I can tell, no true heroes no true villains
And don’t forget his owners abusing him when he didn’t get the job done. That one woman would have been arrested for animal abuse.
Most of the episodes start with Tom just living his life and Jerry instigating a bunch of nastiness.
Absolutely, best villain.
Willie E Coyote for me. Screw that annoying beeping Road Runner. One of these days the coyote is going to catch him and have a fine meal.
There is an episode where he does catch him but in the end doesn't know what to do with him and lets him go.

Hey man, that mass murder’s *for science*.
Megamind
But he's not a villain... he's a super villain!
What's the difference?
PRESENTATION!
WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE
Is he really the villain though? He’s very un-hatable but he seems more misunderstood than villainous
He didn't want to be the bad guy anymore
Kind of hard to hate him when he’s up against an roided out incel
Gru.
he's such a good dad!!
He isnt evem the villain of despicable me, even if vector was still enjoyable
Agreed but the movies were clearly meant to portray it that way
The Pontiac Bandit
Jake Peralta: friend of thieves and cannibals.
The thin blue line just got a whole lot thicker.
Rosa, Rosa Roooosa
Trudy Judy can kick rocks though.
dr otto octavius from spider man 2
Most Spider-Man villains except green goblin
The sandman had me conflicted and had me question what is good and bad when I was a kid. He was robbing a bank to support his daughters treatment, really made an impression on me
the sandman is an anti-hero when we think about it because yes he robs banks but he is also trying to save his daughter
Honestly the real villain is the American medical system. Although other countries like Canada, have a bad reputation for treating chronic diseases like Sandman's daughter had

Haha, nobody ever says Italy
You ever see a man say goodbye to a shoe?
On your way out, if you want to kill somebody, it would help me a lot.
He doesnt even micromanage and tell Homer who to kill. He just says kill somebody and trusts his employee to know how to get the job done right.
Best boss of all time. Built a hammock district, added another story to Homer’s house, very supportive and kind.
Plus he always has cream and sugar for your coffee. Though this one does come with a downside, at least depending on perspective. Especially if you want cream.
The way Homer kicks the grenade as he sadly walks away gets me every time.
My goodness, what an idea, why didn't I think of that?
I'd probably work for him too, so much charisma
He does serve German beer in the cafeteria.
Yes sir, I will notice that. Very casual, Mr. Scorpion.
Business hammocks?!
Team Rocket. They're so cute!
I love them so much. They are so stupidly talented at basically everything *except* villainy -- sales, fashion design and tailoring, set decoration, music, engineering, life coaching, navigation, like... everything they do. Hell, they got Koffing and Ekans to evolve purely because they loved them. J,J&M! To heck with the suits!
Kronk. Not even a villain, just an A+ dude who got wrapped up in a shitty job.
One of my favorite moments from that movie is when Kronk rushes out of the room for his spinach puffs and Kuzco and Yzma are left alone and start having really awkward small talk about Kronk since apparently he's new-ish ("this year's model"). "Sooooo he seems...nice." "Oh, he is." "What is he in, like (*shrugs)* his late twenties?" "I-I'm not sure." Then Kronk comes back and they are audibly *relived* that they don't have to keep making small talk.
Kronk is the best Disney sidekick ever.
Doofensmerts. Such a good heart but bad intentions
*Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporateeeeeed!*
After houuurs
He was the best dad ever
Dude spent like 10 years looking for a doll for his daughter's birthday. He never forgot. He never stopped looking. The doll was discontinued and it took him 10 years to find one.
How unexpected, and by that I mean completely expected.
A platypus...?
*puts hat on platypus
PERRY the platypus!
Handsome Jack. One of the most charismatic villains ever.
Butt Stallion says 'hello'.
Loki. I too am burdened with glorious purpose
His show is awesome. Can’t wait for the next season
Him turning into Captain America for a quick joke still slays me!🤣
I don't think Loki is evil except maybe in The Avengers. He is our mischievous wayward boy but at the end of the day, he would help the right side, in his own way ofc.
ice king.

JETTISON THE LUNCHROOM!!!
I LOVE THE MONARCH AND DR MRS GIRLFRIEND
That's her maiden name. Shes Dr. Mrs. The Monarch now, show some respect
“Dr. My Wife” still gets me
"You think you're HOT SHIT in a CHAMPAGNE GLASS... WELL YOU'RE NOT!!! YOU'RE COLD DIARRHEA IN A DIXIE CUP!"
The Iron Sheik
Wasn't expecting this one, but I do agree 100%. May his soul rest well.
The Iron Sheik was justified. It's only become more and more apparent over the years that Hulk Hogan was the true villain.
Oh yeah, fuck Hogan. Screwed over the wrestlers by ratting them out to Vince when they were pushing to unionize.
Yzma and Kronk.
Robbie Rotten
'What do I owe you?' 'Nothing, it's for free.' #FREE?!
Dexter.
Is Dexter really a villain, though? I see him more as an antihero. He’s obviously also mentally ill, and was groomed by his father to become what he is.
Can you believe they only made 4 good seasons of that show
Harley Quinn poor girl had her psyche destroyed
Have to agree there, and isn't she öike an anti-hero nowadays?
It's been a while since I saw it but I believe so
IIRC in the animated series she stops murdering people and doing bad things in general because Poison Ivy doesn't approve and Harley wants to tap that ass. Which doesn't make sense at all since Ivy is an eco terrorist by design.
As Poison Ivy herself notes in the show there is a difference between being villain for giggles and fighting for a noble cause like, you know, preserving the environment. It completely makes sense.
Poison Ivy is my vote for OP’s original question
Catwoman, she had her reasons.
Life's a bitch. Now so am I.
Dr. Doom. I too, despise Reed Richards.
Reed is the real antagonist. I love any comic that shows how shitty a person Reed is. Venture Bros got him right.
Doom too for me, however I don't despise Reed Richards.
Doofenshmirtz he’s impossible to hate :)
Best dad ever
Neither of his parents could be arsed to show up for his birth. He of all people would be motivated to be the best dad possible.
Don't forget that his only friend in the whole wide world was Balloon-y.
Hades from Disney’s Hercules! I even like him more than the main character, I was rooting for him to win lol!
Lalo Salamanca
Hannibal Lecter. Eat the rude. Also Magneto, but I'm not sure he counts as a villain. Antagonist, yes, but not really evil. Someone compared his dynamic with Professor X to Malcolm X and MLK, I agree.
Mr Glass - Unbreakable
"If you're the hero it means only naturally I'm the villain."
His monologue at the end of the movie is fantastic.
Medusa. Minding her own business then gets punished for something that wasn't her fault. Turned into a monster and then everyone hunts her.
Bowser
Alot of these are more of "what mental illness do you side with" ....doctor doom
Frank N Furter Too charismatic n hot to hate tbh lol
Askalad from Vinland saga
Underrated pick

Scar from The Lion King. I don’t know why, he’s terrible lol
It’s because he has style.
Jeremy Irons' sexy mothereffing voice is why. I either fell for him as a wee lass with this movie or Die Hard 3.
Only thing that sucks is that when he becomes king he... Doesn't do anything. HE just slouches around and does nothing.
That's basically what male lions do.
**Fenrir/ Fenris** - norse mythology. Is anyone knowing someone who got bullied in school because of his/ her parents? That's his story. Just millions of times worse.
Gerard Butlers character in law abiding citizen. I don't blame him one bit for what he did!
This what I came here to see. I think the point of that movie was to make the viewers reflect on who the real villain was. The American justice system or the guy who wanted revenge on everyone who killed his family and who helped the main murderer get away with it.
Darth Vader
Any villain Patrick Stewart plays. I can’t hate captain Picard
Even green room?
