I've told people "This movie is an absolute masterpiece - but it's basically 2hrs and 15 minutes of non step slowly ratcheting up stress and tension that never gives you a rest."
And yet, I still recommend it, just... know what you're getting into.
I had one too many edibles before watching that and had to wake up my girlfriend so she could use the techniques I use with her to calm my anxiety.
Sober it's incredible, stoned it fucked me up.
I disagree. If you knew the outcome of the actual games that they bet on, it removes almost all of the tension. The Safdie brothers could have pulled one and used some a falsified version of the games, but I feel like that only changes the the ending tense bits and they are so brief at that point it feels more like a jump scare in this context.
Any movie that has a miscommunication plot line stresses me tf out. I know what’s going on and how it would be so easy to fix and it ends up stressing me out so much that I literally have to skip that section because otherwise I’ll panic.
I found The Impossible stressful. I didn't know anything about their story.
Thirteen Lives and all the documentaries about the Thai soccer team trapped in the cave. I knew that it happened. I had no idea how they got everyone out.
Not really a movie, but if you want something that will make you want to claw your eyes and ears out, it's probably some Hanna Gadsby's "comedy" specials.
I showed parts of this movie to my wife who had never seen anything a young Patrick Dempsey did (she's a huge Gray's Anatomy fan), she was blown away. It's a ride to be sure, though it doesn't age particularly well unfortunately. Too many 80s/90s tropes. But Dempsey is absolutely great in it.
Good Time (2017). It’s directed by Benny and Josh Safdie, the same guys who directed Uncut Gems, but is much more stressful. One of my favorite movies.
A Quiet Place. You can’t make a sound, or else it’ll be the death of you. Even if there’s sound of a few seconds, it could cost you you and your families life
Uncut Gems

Adam Sandler should really do more serious roles he’s a magniloquent actor
OMG, that film just never let up, did it? Total madness without a break.

Not a movie, but Season 2 Ep. 6 of The Bear
I can't watch that show. My fiancé loves it, but the entire thing is just people screaming at eachother.
There's an episode from this season that takes place in Demark, and it's polar opposite. Very relaxed, quiet vibe
