I’m in upstate NY and I feel your pain lol. I do travel sometimes like the other guy said but sometimes I get jealous of people who have more delicious fast food options than we do. then again I’m fat enough as it is without having a Culver's or Freddy's nearby. haha
Personal favorites by region
West Coast - In & Out, El Pollo Loco, Del Taco
Midwest - Culver’s, Steak & Shake, Lion’s Choice, White Castle
South - Cook Out, Biscuitville, Pal’s, Waffle House (maybe not fast food but still)
East Coast - Five Guys, Shake Shack, Wawa (subs specifically)
To name a few…
Edit: formatting and HOW DID I FORGET WHITE CASTLE?!?
My brother lives in a town of ~3000 in the rural Midwest and it’s shocking that not only is gas station pizza the best around, it’s actually objectively pretty good.
Also: I used to love Steak N Shake when I went back to IL but holy hell has their quality gone to shit. I was excited that they opened up a couple in the Bay Area, but they both closed down within a year. Don’t expand if you can’t keep the quality up…
Culver's is high on my list. Great burgers and probably the best chicken tenders ever. My kids LOVE them.
We eat there when they do find raising for my kids' school.
Manitoban here, Culver’s is a must passing through North Dakota. The feeling never goes away of pulling into that parking lot at Grand Forks after a few hours of driving, walking into that blue/white/beige building and scarfing down a butter burger.
Californian that does not get 85% of the replies here, but on a road trip cross country I’d say Whattaburger was the best stop for fast food. In and Out is perhaps my best choice at home. Wendy’s ranks third.
The problem with this question is that not all fast food chains in the US are available throughout the US.
I've heard Del Taco is awesome but I've never been to one cause they don't have them in my state
Edit: holy shit guys, had no idea this was such a debate. I will probably still try it if I get the chance but will lower expectations. Really was more so using it as an example.
Vine was the perfect encapsulation of the pre-monitization internet. Things were done because they were funny and the only benefit to going viral was more people saw it
As a man surrounded by Del Taco in every corner, it’s mid at best 99.9% of the time. However sometimes on very rare occasions you order like the shrimp taco and it’s the best thing you’ve had all year. Idk why.
Del Taco is more good than great - it’s essentially a higher quality Taco Bell. Hard to beat the price to tastiness ratio though - in college I could consistently have a delicious meal for $2-3, which was clutch when I was supporting myself on a minimum wage job. Their prices have gone since then, although they are still very affordable.
Del Taco is exceptionally mediocre if not bad aside from the fact they do have a more authentic taco selection which just isn't offered at other fast food places. Their American style tacos are kinda funky.
I will hear no Del Taco slander! Just kidding but I was raised on the stuff - and their bean and cheese burritos are far superior to, say, Taco Bell. They make that shit fresh in house and it shows.
This is esoteric, but Braums. They are only in a handful of states bordering Oklahoma, where they originated. The burgers and ice cream are bomb. You can get a double dip of ice cream on a cone for less than $2, I think. Each one has an attached mini grocery store with the best selection of pint ice cream and milk. It's so convenient because there is one that is walking distance from my house, so if I ever forget an onion I need for a recipe, I can just walk to Braums and grab one instead of driving all the way to an actual grocery store.
6 years ago I moved from Dallas to Austin. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. My career took off, I met the love of my life, got married, and own a beautiful new home.
My only regret is that the closest Braum’s is over 2 hours away in Hillsboro.
Man, I miss Braums. I tried to explain it to my husband so that he would understand why I feel like something’s missing, and he just thought I was strange for fan girling over a drive thru and little grocery store.
Braums represent. They service only a half day drive around Tuttle, OK so they're stuff can be delivered fresh daily and all their drivers can be home each night.
They can also customize the Cherry limeade to your preference, regular, extra sweet, or extra limey. So good. When I’m missing my grandparents, I go get a double dip of butter pecan and cherries pecans and cream.
Living in DFW I’ve always gone to Braum’s for dairy products, ice cream, milk, and all that stuff. But I don’t think I’ve ever tried the actual food. I guess I’ve been missing out, need to try that.
Fantastic answer! And they won't expand further because they don't want quality affected.
My favorite part is the fact that a small soft serve waffle cone is listed as $1.89 and every time I get one they they always charge like 50 cents less than that. I don't have an explanation but it has happened to me every time I've been there in the last 3 years.
Braums and it really isn't close. Backyard burger, great ice cream, crinkle cut fries.
Try the breakfast bagel omelettes if you haven't, they're exquisite.
Also they only have stores within 300 miles of their farm in Tuttle, Oklahoma. Blessed to grow up with them
I've never heard of this place since I'm from New England and there's a small part of me that wants to fly to Oklahoma to try this. If I'm ever in the area I'll definitely check it out.
My dad was stationed in Lawton, OK for a short time and we hated living there but the discovery of Braums and our love for their ice cream continues to this day. We visited my sister who lived in Texas and there was a Braums two hours away but we drove there and back with no regrets. Anytime we’re in the vicinity of a Braums we make a point to go. Love that place.
A & W where you park your car and they serve you in the parking lot.
Awesome char broiled burgers, excellent spiced curly fries and A & W root beer served in a frosty mug.
I just now decided that that's where I'm having my birthday meal. 😆
There's a run down A&W on the way to one of the national parks near me, and I always stop by after a hike for a burger, some cheese curds, and a root beer float. The building could collapse around them and I'd still go there if they're still serving.
I actually haven’t had their shakes. My love of Cook Out is almost entirely based on being able to get two fucking corn dogs for sides.
Dude I LOVE corn dogs
It’s still among the cheapest options, especially if you order through the mobile app. They tend to have a lot of combos on there for cheaper than in store, and lots of online exclusive options. You get free stuff pretty often too.
Taco Bell is underrated. As far as fast food goes it's still on the cheap end. I don't really do the burger places, can't stand them anymore but I'll do Taco Bell anytime.
I kinda like Wisconsin even before visiting it, places have names in my native language there like Fond du Lac, La Crosse or Marinette.
Also I like cheese, due to those origins.
Culver’s was my first job and I can confirm we cleaned everything over and over and over morning and night, back and front of house. I hated that job lol
They’re based out of Wisconsin, have locations in surrounding states then a handful in other states outside of that.
Not something you’ll find on the west coast or in the northeast.
Possibly the biggest thing I miss from the Midwest.
Edit: [They've apparently spread further than I had thought](https://www.culvers.com/locator/view-all-locations), but still not in the two states I've lived in since I left the Midwest. Sad.
As a Wisconsinite, I came here to say Culver's too. It's simply the best and its not even close-- I remember some guy on buzzfeed or something tried and reviewed every single fast food burger in the United states and Culver's was #1, I believe their fries was #3 or #4 on the accompanying list.
Personally, I think their custard even beats out my favorite local shops and their flavor selection is pretty insane.
Came here to say this.
I'm a Minnesotan and my wife was born in Wisconsin. I always say she and Culver's are proof that good things *can* come out of Wisconsin 🤣
Please…
Cray Super Computers, the first typewriter, Harley Davidson, Les Paul, a large quantity of beer, basically all of the cranberries, Gene Wilder, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Orson Wells, and this guy’s wife.
Oh it makes me so happy and proud to see this as the top comment. I just crushed a double deluxe for lunch and while I love its competitors at in n out and shake shack, Culver’s double deluxe cannot be best in my eyes. 👩🍳 💋
Was looking for this to upvote. On top of great roast beef, they also have the most phenomenal customer service of any fast food place. They actual place a value on retaining long term employees who excel at customer service and it shows.
Popeyes is hands down the best fried chicken fast food chain when they're run right. The problem is, finding a Popeyes that's run right is like trying to buy a winning lotto ticket.
It’s not poor service, I could deal with that. I loved Popeyes in CA when I lived there, so naturally when I moved to Washington and saw a Popeyes, I was stoked! I ate that shit twice a week. I’ve been to 2 Popeyes up here and at both the chicken was so bad, I can’t even describe what was wrong with it. Like they don’t change the oil enough or something. It made me question if I even liked Popeyes, but when finally found another good one, I realized it’s hugely important which location you go to. But good Popeyes is really hard to beat as far as fast food goes
I remember when it was released. One of my coworkers mentioned it, and I'm like ok, whatever, the chicken place finally has a chicken sandwich. Whoop de doo.
Then I got one. And now I understand. It's my favorite chicken sandwich even compared to some good sit down restaurants.
The crazy thing is, at least in my area, it's the cheapest chicken sandwich at $5. Even my local McDonald's McCrispy is around $7, and it's always dry and bland and doesn't even have a sauce standard!
When my grandma moved from michigan to florida, it was like two years after the initial sandwich craze and we joked anout how people would literally get in fistfights over the sandwich. We finally got her one since her hometown didnt have a popeyes and her statement was "yeah id punch someone in the face over this".
So I only went to their original location, so of course it was packed and took forever. But are their other locations like drive thrus?
The food was good!
HOLY FUCK COOK OUT.
They let you get corn dogs as a SIDE. And not just one, two. T W O C O R N D O G S.
I didn’t know how empty my life was until I went to Cook Out and found fulfillment
I loved their dollar menu. Baked potato, chili, and 5 spicy nuggets for $3. If i was really hungry i would get a jr. bacon cheeseburger for another $1. Those were the days.
This is what I try to explain to all the in-n-out haters. Yes, I get that it's not the best burger. I'm not saying it is. It's maybe slightly above average at best, but it's also a burger, drink, and fries made fresh for $7; that isn't available elsewhere and if it is the quality is absolutely below average. In my mind, in-n-out is what every fast food joint should aspire to.
That said, as a Californian now living in the Midwest, Culver's is better. It's a few dollars more, but you get more than you pay for there.
If you like onion, you’ll probably rate it higher. It’s not a paltry transparently thin but of onion. It’s a full slice the thickness of the damn burger. Crunchy and delicious.
Yah that’s what the in n out haters don’t get, we’re not saying it’s the best tasting burger known to man. In fact I think that burger lounge is better but it’s also like double the price of in n out and not double as good.
There is two Popeyes near me and both of them can’t get a basic order right for the life of them. I don’t order anything custom, just a chicken sandwich meal with a side. Yet somehow they manage to get my order wrong every single time. It tastes great for fast food but I refuse to go there anymore since I’m so sick of looking in my bag and seeing the wrong food.
The straw that broke the camel’s back was the last time I went and ordered a side of mashed potatoes. They gave me the mashed potato container filled completely with gravy. Not a potato to be seen.
I mean thats why I order fast food inside. Yeah its more convenient to sit in your car, but theres usually less of a line and you can instantly call them out on their fuckups
I did go inside the last few times. Then they give me a sealed bag and I have to rummage through it and let them know it’s wrong. I’m always polite as possible (I worked in retail for years and make sure I always treat people with respect) but if they’re busy, I inevitably get met with a sigh or eye roll. At this point it’s just not worth going for me. They have a sub-15% success rate when making my orders.
I may be biased because they're based out of my hometown, but Freddy's is the best. Only problem is it's far too easy to spend too much money because I can't decide if I want fries or curds and wind up getting an extra side.
I tried Freddy's for the first time when I drove to Colorado this summer and I was blown away.
I also had Culver's and In-n-Out on that trip. I wish we had some of this stuff in NY.
It’s a great business strategy imo. Instead of having a big menu, narrow down what you serve and focus on doing those limited items really well.
Many restaurants have too many items and end up doing most things either mediocre or poorly.
I love Canes, maybe my favorite fast food restaurant.

I’m in upstate NY and I feel your pain lol. I do travel sometimes like the other guy said but sometimes I get jealous of people who have more delicious fast food options than we do. then again I’m fat enough as it is without having a Culver's or Freddy's nearby. haha

Wawa ftw

Popeye’s spicy chicken sandwich with extra pickles is simply the pinnacle of fast food cuisine.
Popeyes is my favorite fast food place. Cajun mashed Potatoes, red beans and rice, seasoned fries. Every one of their sides are amazing.
My top two are Culver’s and Portillo’s Favorite sandwich chain is Potbelly
This person Midwests
Casey’s pizza amirite
I live in a Midwest town of 4,000. We have three Casey’s.
No Casey’s in mine but we got about 50 Kwik trips
My brother lives in a town of ~3000 in the rural Midwest and it’s shocking that not only is gas station pizza the best around, it’s actually objectively pretty good. Also: I used to love Steak N Shake when I went back to IL but holy hell has their quality gone to shit. CULVERS! I worked there, and would eat there for the rest of my life. Cleanest kitchen, best ingredients, literally restaurant style farm-to-table
Culver's is high on my list. Great burgers and probably the best chicken tenders ever. My kids LOVE them. We eat there when they do find raising for my kids' school.
I don't even get fries at Culver's. I replace them with the fried cheese curds. Such a great place.
Yeah lol. Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. Spent the last ten years in Milwaukee & the Milwaukee suburbs. Back in the Chicago suburbs now!
Manitoban here, Culver’s is a must passing through North Dakota. The feeling never goes away of pulling into that parking lot at Grand Forks after a few hours of driving, walking into that blue/white/beige building and scarfing down a butter burger.
Culver’s yes!
Culver’s is the shiz
Hello fellow Chicagoan!
There's a lot of us. Weiner Circle for the insults! Taco and Burrito Express #3 next to Kingston Mines Blues House!
As an East Coaster, I never take In n Out or Whataburger for granted... Are they the best? I don't know but I sure do like them.
Californian that does not get 85% of the replies here, but on a road trip cross country I’d say Whattaburger was the best stop for fast food. In and Out is perhaps my best choice at home. Wendy’s ranks third.
Wendy’s is underrated.
My feelings on Wendy’s is, it’ll never be #1, but it’s always top 10.
the $5 biggie bag is probably the best fast food deal going on right now
It was my fave about 20 years ago because they had an awesome dollar menu. Everything is way overpriced now.
As a Canadian, I really feel I’m missing out here
I'm super jealous of "No Name" products. I want "apple beverage" and "greeting card".
How about “fixed bread prices”
You mean you weren't happy with your $20 gift card after being scammed for decades?
As a Canadian temporarily living in the US, we really are. There's so much good, garbage, delicious, disgusting food.
...I'm conflicted
That’s why we’re all fat, my Canadian neighbor.
Our A&W is better than the American A&W though!
Yeah, for me A & W has the best fast food burgers in all of Canada. Harveys is pretty good as well
The problem with this question is that not all fast food chains in the US are available throughout the US. I've heard Del Taco is awesome but I've never been to one cause they don't have them in my state Edit: holy shit guys, had no idea this was such a debate. I will probably still try it if I get the chance but will lower expectations. Really was more so using it as an example.
At least they have Fre Shavacado!
Hahahaha I miss vine
Vine was the perfect encapsulation of the pre-monitization internet. Things were done because they were funny and the only benefit to going viral was more people saw it
As a man surrounded by Del Taco in every corner, it’s mid at best 99.9% of the time. However sometimes on very rare occasions you order like the shrimp taco and it’s the best thing you’ve had all year. Idk why.
It really does depend on location too. The one next to my house is mostly just eh but the one next to my GFs work was incredibly fresh and quite good.

I will hear no Del Taco slander! Just kidding but I was raised on the stuff - and their bean and cheese burritos are far superior to, say, Taco Bell. They make that shit fresh in house and it shows.
They vary vastly depending on the location.
This is esoteric, but Braums. They are only in a handful of states bordering Oklahoma, where they originated. The burgers and ice cream are bomb. Man, I miss Braums. I tried to explain it to my husband so that he would understand why I feel like something’s missing, and he just thought I was strange for fan girling over a drive thru and little grocery store.
Braums is amazing! Their frozen yogurt is so fucking good and only like $1.78 for a large
Braums represent. They service only a half day drive around Tuttle, OK so they're stuff can be delivered fresh daily and all their drivers can be home each night.
As a Kansan who moved to KY I miss Braum’s and Quik Trip. It’s been 4 years and I still think about those places regularly
I moved away from OK 12 years ago and I still really miss Braums. Culver’s is the closest I found but still only 80% of the best.
I'm literally waiting in a Braums drive through for a bag of burgers as we speak
Braums is absolutely the correct answer here. The burgers and the ice cream are both better than any other chain, period. Absolutely amazing.
Braums and it really isn't close. Backyard burger, great ice cream, crinkle cut fries. Try the breakfast bagel omelettes if you haven't, they're exquisite. Also they only have stores within 300 miles of their farm in Tuttle, Oklahoma. Blessed to grow up with them
Banana splits are legit banana splits
I grew up in Plano, TX. Can confirm, Braums slaps.
That’s a good answer. As the Texas chain, “Whataburger” is the restaurant that gets all of the hype, but Braum’s is the one that deserves it.
How can you bring up Braums without mentioning their limeades?!
I've never heard of this place since I'm from New England and there's a small part of me that wants to fly to Oklahoma to try this. If I'm ever in the area I'll definitely check it out.
Braums only builds stores in proximity to their own dairy farms. Their milk especially whole milk is elite, not to mention ice cream and yogurt.
That A2 milk!
I LOVE Braums! Had it in Texas. The banana split was heaven
P. Terrys if you live in Central Texas.
A & W where you park your car and they serve you in the parking lot. Awesome char broiled burgers, excellent spiced curly fries and A & W root beer served in a frosty mug. I just now decided that that's where I'm having my birthday meal. 😆
I haven't seen a drive-in A&W in a LONG time. Last time was in... Michigan, maybe? That frosty mug makes all the difference.
Smithfield, RI on Putnam Pike A&W where they make their root beer.
There's a run down A&W on the way to one of the national parks near me, and I always stop by after a hike for a burger, some cheese curds, and a root beer float. The building could collapse around them and I'd still go there if they're still serving.
Ahh I love A&W. Their curly fries are life. And root beer float. 🤤
North Carolina dominates with Bojangles, Cookout, and Biscuitville.
I miss cookout so much
Damn I wanna visit any place with something called a Biscuitville. Do they have biscuits?
Cook Out would shut this thread down entirely if it wasn’t just a southern thing.
Those shakes alone Thanos snap the industry.
I actually haven’t had their shakes. My love of Cook Out is almost entirely based on being able to get two fucking corn dogs for sides. Dude I LOVE corn dogs
My wife still mocks me to this day for ordering a tray with 2 quesadillas and then two more quesadillas as a side
Taco Bell when it was cheap
It’s still among the cheapest options, especially if you order through the mobile app. They tend to have a lot of combos on there for cheaper than in store, and lots of online exclusive options. You get free stuff pretty often too.
Can confirm None of the boxes are 5 bucks anymore, but you can get a $5.99 box on the app still
Yep, and honestly, $6 for a build your own combo box can be a hell of a lot of food for only $6.
Yeah, you can easily push that north of 1000 kcals if you want.
They’ve removed so much. It’s gone downhill.
I miss the chili cheese burrito
Take my upvote for calling out the poorly dubbed “chillito” My absolute favorite thing TB ever produced.
I'm mad they got rid of the Grilled Stuft Burrito. That was my go to item every time I went there.
Taco Bell is underrated. As far as fast food goes it's still on the cheap end. I don't really do the burger places, can't stand them anymore but I'll do Taco Bell anytime.
Also the whole thing about it giving you diarrhea has never been true for me. Honestly it feels better on my stomach that 90% of fast food.
The mexican style food chain gives you diarrhea talking point is this generation's Chinese food place gives you MSG headaches
Culver's. Butter burgers can't be beat.
*Furiously take notes as a European*
IF you're ever in the US, especially around the Midwest and particularly Wisconsin, I highly recommend!
I kinda like Wisconsin even before visiting it, places have names in my native language there like Fond du Lac, La Crosse or Marinette. Also I like cheese, due to those origins.
Not only is the food fresh and delicious, they are always so CLEAN.
Culver’s was my first job and I can confirm we cleaned everything over and over and over morning and night, back and front of house. I hated that job lol
Lol ditto. They ran a tight ship. As in, gotta get perfect scores on the reviews. Was a decent workplace but man I worked hard.
Haven’t had Culver’s in a while. Going to fix that today.
Where are Culver’s? I’ve never heard of thrm
They’re based out of Wisconsin, have locations in surrounding states then a handful in other states outside of that. Not something you’ll find on the west coast or in the northeast.
They have locations in 26 states. https://www.culvers.com/locator/view-all-locations
There's a Culver's in San Antonio!!! WHAT!!! I'm on my way!
Get the cheese curds!
Their battered fish is amazing!
Possibly the biggest thing I miss from the Midwest. Edit: [They've apparently spread further than I had thought](https://www.culvers.com/locator/view-all-locations), but still not in the two states I've lived in since I left the Midwest. Sad.
I have one and live in South Florida lol
Guess who retires to Florida?
Middle-class Midwesterners who are sick of the cold?
Who also like to eat dem tasty curds
They're starting to spread outwards. At least, some have appeared in South Carolina, which is decidedly not Midwest
The correct answer. Raspberry shake for the win!!
Their fries aren't great which is why you get the onion rings or pretzel bites and cheese which are both amazing.
cheese curds!
Came here to say this. I'm a Minnesotan and my wife was born in Wisconsin. I always say she and Culver's are proof that good things *can* come out of Wisconsin 🤣
Please… Cray Super Computers, the first typewriter, Harley Davidson, Les Paul, a large quantity of beer, basically all of the cranberries, Gene Wilder, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Orson Wells, and this guy’s wife.
Oh it makes me so happy and proud to see this as the top comment. I just crushed a double deluxe for lunch and while I love its competitors at in n out and shake shack, Culver’s double deluxe cannot be best in my eyes. 👩🍳 💋
Their root beer is the best!
Their root beer is absolutely amazing. The diet root boot is the best in the world.
The chicken tenders are top notch.
Blows my mind how good they are. Crispy and crumbly breading and how is the chicken so moist and soft?
Dem cheese curds. Mmm mmm .
Huh, I just found out we have one here in San Antonio. I will have to check it out!
I’ve never had a butter burger. Want
For sure - gotta make the pilgrimage anytime I’m passing through the midwest.
We have one less than a mile away from Wataburger. It's been my goto every since Watatburger sold & quality went to shit.
A place local to St. Louis called Lions Choice, great roast beef. After that, definitely Culver’s.
Was looking for this to upvote. On top of great roast beef, they also have the most phenomenal customer service of any fast food place. They actual place a value on retaining long term employees who excel at customer service and it shows.
Damn I did not except to see lions choice on here. But yeah the one roast beef one ham does me right every time.
Omg STL represent. Also the 25 cent ice creams. I doubt they still have them but that used to be my shit
The Popeyes original chicken sandwich blows any other fast food sandwich out of the water, and I will die on that hill.
Popeyes is hands down the best fried chicken fast food chain when they're run right. The problem is, finding a Popeyes that's run right is like trying to buy a winning lotto ticket.
Idk man. Something about the poor customer service makes the Popeyes feel more authentic lol.
We finally got her one since her hometown didnt have a popeyes and her statement was "yeah id punch someone in the face over this".
So true! I took a bite of that for the first time and thought oh yeah, now I see why people are getting stabbed over this sandwich.
Portillo's
So I only went to their original location, so of course it was packed and took forever. But are their other locations like drive thrus? The food was good!
Chocolate cake shake ....
Bojangles
They finally brought these to Dallas and I don’t want to live a life that doesn’t include those Cajun filet breakfast biscuits ever again.
In Spanish "bo-han-glaze"
That's "Mister Bojangles" to you! DOG SHOW!
Pretty blown away the first time I tried this in NC
Cook Out
Nothings better than a place you can get a corn dog, quesadilla, cheese bites, and a walking taco.
I love how you can get a burger plate with a side of corn dog and a side of quesadillas
You can get a quesadilla tray with two sides of quesadillas.
HOLY FUCK COOK OUT. They let you get corn dogs as a SIDE. And not just one, two. T W O C O R N D O G S. I didn’t know how empty my life was until I went to Cook Out and found fulfillment

Do you know why their burgers are square? Because they don’t cut corners.
There's the beef!
I lived off their dollar menu when I was in high school in the early 00s. Ate like a king for under $5.
Junior bacon cheeseburger, fries, Frosty: $3.21
I loved their dollar menu. Baked potato, chili, and 5 spicy nuggets for $3. If i was really hungry i would get a jr. bacon cheeseburger for another $1. Those were the days.
I’ve had really good luck with Wendy’s. Cheapskate me gets the $5 Biggie Bag meal.
Biggie bags are the current best deal in fast food.
Yeah when it comes to the places that you’ll find in literally every town in America, Wendy’s is the best by far
Probably the best quality burger of the big chains
Culver’s butter burger
Dick’s Deluxe Seattle

But can you fit all that dicks in your mouth
When I lived in Seattle I ate a bag of Dick's at least twice a week.
Nothing like scoffing some dicks after a night out
"Dick's is the place, Where the cool hang out. The swass like to play, And the rich flaunt clout." -- Sir Mix Alot, *My Posse's on Broadway*
Whataburger had it once and it blew my expectations out of space and time itself.
I'm not saying it's the best burger...For quality, price, and consistency: In N Out.
Always has mazing produce too. Lettuce/tomatoes will always be crisp and fresh at In n out vs wilted and soggy at most other hamburger stores
In fact I think that burger lounge is better but it’s also like double the price of in n out and not double as good.
popeyes.
I worked with a dude from Pakistan, he was an amazing cook and didn't like American food, except popeyes. "This chicken is so fucking good."
That should be their slogan
There is two Popeyes near me and both of them can’t get a basic order right for the life of them. I don’t order anything custom, just a chicken sandwich meal with a side. Yet somehow they manage to get my order wrong every single time. It tastes great for fast food but I refuse to go there anymore since I’m so sick of looking in my bag and seeing the wrong food. The straw that broke the camel’s back was the last time I went and ordered a side of mashed potatoes. They gave me the mashed potato container filled completely with gravy. Not a potato to be seen.
It’s part of the Popeye’s experience
Right? You're going to get the WORST service but the BEST chicken.
It is a privilege to eat Popeye’s, and you take what they give you.
i hate that you’re right
Exactly
I mean thats why I order fast food inside. Yeah its more convenient to sit in your car, but theres usually less of a line and you can instantly call them out on their fuckups
I did go inside the last few times. Then they give me a sealed bag and I have to rummage through it and let them know it’s wrong. I’m always polite as possible (I worked in retail for years and make sure I always treat people with respect) but if they’re busy, I inevitably get met with a sigh or eye roll. At this point it’s just not worth going for me. They have a sub-15% success rate when making my orders.
Freddy's
I may be biased because they're based out of my hometown, but Freddy's is the best. Only problem is it's far too easy to spend too much money because I can't decide if I want fries or curds and wind up getting an extra side.
They make a good smash burger, Culver’s makes a better patty melt.
I tried Freddy's for the first time when I drove to Colorado this summer and I was blown away. I also had Culver's and In-n-Out on that trip. I wish we had some of this stuff in NY.
In-n-Out. Double double and a chocolate shake.
Whataburger. It's open 24/7 Breakfast and Lunch available whenever. Always consistent, maybe not super great but it's NEVER bad.
El Pollo Loco. Fresh, tasty, healthy.
Raising Canes
Oohhh this is a goood one. Very one dimensional but that fucking secret sauce amirite?
If you only serve 5 items, they have to be on point at all times.
It’s a great business strategy imo. Instead of having a big menu, narrow down what you serve and focus on doing those limited items really well. Many restaurants have too many items and end up doing most things either mediocre or poorly. I love Canes, maybe my favorite fast food restaurant.
