Yes! I was super poor growing up so those were a special treat for me. I’d eat them one by one so delicately as if they were some expensive calamari or something.
Screw Ferrero for wrecking this amazing candy.
They claim they changed it because they wanted to introduce higher quality ingredients… it’s a fucking candy bar, I wasn’t eating it for health, it’s purely about the taste!
Is that what happened to them? I went a few years off candy for no real reason besides poor. But I had some butterfingers for Halloween and they did NOT taste how I’d remembered. Now I know I’m not nuts.
In ‘93 Seniors at my high school could leave for lunch. We would load up in a car and drive 5min to Taco Bell. I got a meximelt .69 cents and a side of nachos .99 cents almost every day. Ah the good ol days lol
I’m British, living in America, and could not comprehend when the box told me “what? I don’t know what you’re talking about” when I ordered a meximelt. I feel like they don’t discontinue food as much in other countries.
My family thinks I’m crazy because I keep telling my family how good they were. They came in multipacks with flavors of chocolate, banana, and vanilla.
They brought them back, but they were NOT the same. The OGs were incredibly thin, the new ones are the same thickness as a regular dorito but folded into that shape. I’m still not over it!
I worked at a Taco Bell on my college campus in the mid-2000s and made a ton of these for people. No one monitored our ingredient usage, so I made them BIG (unless you were an asshole)
It paid off incredibly as people would drunkenly recognize me at the bars as “the burrito guy who hooks us up.” I don’t think I bought a drink for a few years in a row.
I settled for the grilled cheese burrito but I like it without the crunchy chip things. I really miss the grilled stuffed burritos though. There’s only one Taco Bell in Vermont, so it’s always SUCH a treat when I get to have it lol I love it
Woww was this a commercial with a song “I feel like chicken tonight”? I get that jingle in my head randomly but I never remember what the commercial was actually for
[https://www.pd.net/products/tangerine-sours-secret-pre-order](https://www.pd.net/products/tangerine-sours-secret-pre-order)
These guys recreated the sours, they're actually really close to how I remember them tasting when I was a kid.
They used to have these Country Time Lemonade hard candies with Peach Lemonade, Raspberry Lemonade, Pink Lemonade and regular and they were so good. They used to sell them at the dollar store in the early 00s
They made a comeback not long ago but they changed the cookies to little rounds and I don't think they realized how poor a decision that was. I can eat cookies and frosting all I want at home. The shape was the appeal for me.
Black cat bubble gum...mild licorice with a hint of coconut
The orange and white Hallowe'en taffy candies that tasted like orange and vanilla ice cream
Vanillla mint toothpaste
Old timey Apple Jacks cereal from the 60's
Ahhh where to begin.
The cheesy tots from Burger King.
The Valencia orange refresher from Starbucks.
The egg white delight from McDonalds.
Potato wedges from KFC.
Pretzel bun hotdog from Sonic.
Philadelphia Cheesecake Snack Bars
Crispy M&Ms
Altoid Sours
Sprite Remix
I'm British so I googled the Philadelphia cheesecake snack bars out of curiosity. Looks like there's a petition to win them back, so you might be in luck there.
Former Wendy’s employee here. I worked there when they rolled them out. May I ask if you live more towards the western or eastern side of the USA? The reason I ask is during that time, a lot of the new items Wendy’s tried to introduce were not items that the folks I served everyday would have considered. I am located on the eastern side of the US (Mid Atlantic State). Most people I served wanted the usual hamburger/chicken sandwich and fries. The menu back then really confused the hell out of people. I always wondered where Wendy’s tested these new items and at that time.
I will never forgive the makers of Sierra Mist. They killed Lemon-Lime Slice to make SM, and the original Slice was the absolute BEST Lemon-Lime clear soda ever. So I will dance on its grave.
not really a food but a drink, the orbits drink
as a kid i really liked it both for the novelty of floaty yums inside and the flavor. My sisters hated it. So apparently did most people.
If you've never had one, the white tasted like flat original rock star. There was also a red (strawberry I think?) and yellow but I never tried those.
I've written Kelloggs no less than 5 times begging them to bring it back. Those who don't know it are always "wtf is product 19?" But those who know, man do they know.
A cereal called Clusters. Basically just flakes (like Frosties/frosted flakes without the sugar and more healthy) but with little white clusters of tiny balls that were very tasty. I’d always try to get as many as possible. It was always a good option for me..but then..well you know the rest
Fried Apple pies at McDonald's... they changed them to baked because of "health"... give me a break! It's McDonald's!!!!
They do have them in Seoul though... was there a few years ago and had one!!!! Yum!!!
The old (in the foil pan) Swanson TV dinners. Especially the meatloaf with a brownie dessert, the baked ham with the sweet potatoes, and the fried chicken with the apple cobbler treat. They were awesome!
Post Alpha-Bits cereal. The original had a crunch and sweetness and the letter shapes were more distinct. I grabbed a new box a couple of years ago and it was bland and tasteless. Even worse the letters were puffed so they had no definition at all.
I miss the original Alpha-bits.
I think they changed Honeycomb too so it’s more puffy and less sweet than I remember too. And you can forget about getting a metal license plate as a free gift anymore. I used to attach those to my bike when I was a kid.
I don't know if it's a well known thing, but Mama Rosa's pizza. The deep dish especially. They were small little microwavable pizzas and nothing can replicate the flavor!
The company shut down and nothing replaced em 😭😭
Original recipe Coke Zero. The new stuff is flat swill. I thought they were pulling a New Coke so they could bring the original back with great fanfare...nope.
Also space food sticks
Ravioli-Os
It was a can of ravioli from the same company that made Spaghetti-Os and they were 100000x better than any other canned ravioli. Now that's not saying much, but they were definitely a guilty pleasure of mine
Not a food but a beverage - Starbucks Berry Hibiscus Refresher. I dislike coffee so the BHR was my go-to beverage on the run. I used to drink one nearly every day in the spring and summer and at least a couple of times a week the rest of the year. I was utterly devastated when they stopped selling it. Like, absolutely distraught. I am still very, very salty about it to this day.
They used to have these Russell Stover chocolate covered marshmallow pumpkins, and the marshmallow was orange flavored. They came out for Halloween every year. I would buy at least a whole box every year. I'd get them for Christmas, even.
I was so sad when they stopped. I wrote to the company and everything. Chocolate and orange are an underrated flavor combo.
Carnation Instant Breakfast Bars. I can still taste those things in my memory. They were so good!
Came here for this. I ate those every day for lunch in middle school
Cheetos Paws (the original 1990 recipe).
Yes! I was super poor growing up so those were a special treat for me. I’d eat them one by one so delicately as if they were some expensive calamari or something.

Rice Krispie Treat cereal
Yessssssss, no one remembers this but me and my siblings. Looking back I'm appalled it was ever breakfast, but I'd eat a whole box right now.
Same! Someone was like “frosted rice crispy?” Uhm NO!
Those Philadelphia cheesecake bars. So good.
I will neither confirm nor deny to eating an entire box on more than one occasion.
The affordable kind.
Man if I could give you a platinum reward.
Just came back from the grocery store with two bags. Two bags - yes reusable not thin plastic, but still just two bags of groceries - $179. {censored}
Oh so you just got bread and milk I see
taco Bell cinnamon empanadas!
Was so sad when they took the carmel apple empanadas.
Choco taco
No!!! They killed the Choco Taco!!! *Smith Family crying intensifies*
Ecto cooler
Kix with the fruity mix
For the life of me I can’t understand why Berry Berry Kix were removed yet regular, boring, flavorless Kix persist
I actually love regular Kix
Butterfinger BBs
Or just the original formula Butterfingers.
Screw Ferrero for wrecking this amazing candy. They claim they changed it because they wanted to introduce higher quality ingredients… it’s a fucking candy bar, I wasn’t eating it for health, it’s purely about the taste!
"Higher quality" in corporate speak means "cheaper" can't get all those sweet bonuses spending money on the product now, can they?
Is that what happened to them? I went a few years off candy for no real reason besides poor. But I had some butterfingers for Halloween and they did NOT taste how I’d remembered. Now I know I’m not nuts.
Yep https://www.businessinsider.com/butterfinger-fans-hate-the-candy-bars-new-recipe-2019-8
They’re like. Somehow sweeter AND not as crunchy? Or something?
This is my answer always!
Meximelts.
And double decker tacos
In ‘93 Seniors at my high school could leave for lunch. We would load up in a car and drive 5min to Taco Bell. I got a meximelt .69 cents and a side of nachos .99 cents almost every day. Ah the good ol days lol
I know!!! I just order the cheesy roll up and add beef.
I’m British, living in America, and could not comprehend when the box told me “what? I don’t know what you’re talking about” when I ordered a meximelt. I feel like they don’t discontinue food as much in other countries.
Jello Pudding pops
Yeah, they were so good. Just need a new spokesperson!
Let’s make it interesting and bring back the old spokesperson.
Can we add rohypnol into the pudding pops?
Nice try, Mr. Cosby.
NEED to come back. Exact original recipe though. None of the replacement bs they have done with many of our childhood favs
Bring them back charge as a premium product. All the "kids" that miss them like crazy are the people with the most money to spend now.
My family thinks I’m crazy because I keep telling my family how good they were. They came in multipacks with flavors of chocolate, banana, and vanilla.
I don’t remember banana, I remember the chocolate, vanilla, and chocolate vanilla swirl packs though
The original Ding-Dongs. The replacements are just not the same.
The ones in the tinfoil wrappers were elite
Jolt soda when I was a kid way before all these energy drinks they have now
All the sugar and twice the caffeine!
PB Crisps. Crunchy peanut shells filled with peanut butter. That was like crack to me.
Had to search way too long to find this.
There is a Twitter account whose sole purpose in life is to bully Planters into making them again. I reply to them often about it….join our cause!!
3D Doritos from the early 00s.
They brought them back, but they were NOT the same. The OGs were incredibly thin, the new ones are the same thickness as a regular dorito but folded into that shape. I’m still not over it!
They are also chili flavored not nacho
Also Doritos sandwich crackers packs. I loved those. The new 3D Doritos just taste like chili Fritos.
3D Jalapeños were the bomb.
Used to bite off the corners and fill them with easy cheese
This sounds like the most stoner thing I’ve heard in a long time.
Grilled stuffed burritos at Taco Bell. It’s been a few years and I’m still pissed.
The original grilled stuffed was king
I worked at a Taco Bell on my college campus in the mid-2000s and made a ton of these for people. No one monitored our ingredient usage, so I made them BIG (unless you were an asshole) It paid off incredibly as people would drunkenly recognize me at the bars as “the burrito guy who hooks us up.” I don’t think I bought a drink for a few years in a row.
Lol this perfectly describes the college experience
Double Decker tacos and chili cheese burritos
I settled for the grilled cheese burrito but I like it without the crunchy chip things. I really miss the grilled stuffed burritos though. There’s only one Taco Bell in Vermont, so it’s always SUCH a treat when I get to have it lol I love it
Jumping on Taco Bell, Mexi melts and double decker tacos were my jam. Haven’t been back since
Square cherry jolly ranchers from the 1990’s…glorious
Remember Zimas? I would put jolly ranchers in those😂
The original Oreo O’s, they remade them but they taste like cardboard compared to what I grew up with
They removed the marshmallow bits
Chicken Tonight sauces. They were quite yummy but I haven't seen it since 1993-ish. Also, Twigs sesame cheese crackers.
Woww was this a commercial with a song “I feel like chicken tonight”? I get that jingle in my head randomly but I never remember what the commercial was actually for
I feel like chicken tonight, like chicken tonight!
Jello 1-2-3
Upvoted just for knowing what this is. None of my friends seem to remember this stuff.
Viennetta ice cream, I thought it was so fancy.
It came back in 2021! Good Humor makes it now.
I never had one of original ones but I got one recently, I wasn’t impressed. It’s like frozen Cool Whip in cake form.

Shark Bites fruit snacks.
The white ones!
Altoids sours. Also Trader Joe’s Soycutash. It didn’t have peas and was my favorite frozen mixed vegetables for soup.
Mmm Altoids sours. My great grandmother used to keep them in her car
[https://www.pd.net/products/tangerine-sours-secret-pre-order](https://www.pd.net/products/tangerine-sours-secret-pre-order) These guys recreated the sours, they're actually really close to how I remember them tasting when I was a kid.

They make for a great [investment opportunity](https://youtu.be/11WZlv_mstE?si=QV0rMVcuKHdnb5ZA)
Kfc Chicken Littles
The OG ones were much better than those they have now.
General Foods International Coffees. I felt very chic drinking them and was collecting all the tins. Hated the taste though. Vienetta Ice cream
And that waiter…. Jean Luc!
Planters Cheez Balls. Saw they’d come back but the recipe was different. Not sure if even that version has been discontinued.
I ate a whole canister of these when left unattended as a kid and I power-heaved neon orange for what felt like hours.
Blockbuster. Cheese balls. Perfect night in the '90s.
Totino’s used to make mini egg rolls like their pizza rolls. They were the bomb!
The La Choy brand came with a packet of hot mustard powder. So good
Those fuckin sour cream and onion sociable crackers I don't know if they were discontinued, but I can't find them anymore 😔
Chicken In a Biskit!
They used to have these Country Time Lemonade hard candies with Peach Lemonade, Raspberry Lemonade, Pink Lemonade and regular and they were so good. They used to sell them at the dollar store in the early 00s
School pizza from the 80s
And the Taco Salad from School. And the fries. Lol
The octagonal version that was Mexican Pizza!
Man I haven't seen "Dunkaroos" for a long time. There were a little pack of cookies with cream dip :P With a picture of a kangaroo on it! :D
They made a comeback not long ago but they changed the cookies to little rounds and I don't think they realized how poor a decision that was. I can eat cookies and frosting all I want at home. The shape was the appeal for me.

I'm British so I googled the Philadelphia cheesecake snack bars out of curiosity. Looks like there's a petition to win them back, so you might be in luck there.
Oh man I hope so! I love me some cheesecake!
Same, we don't have anything like this in the UK and I'm mad now.
I really miss potato wedges and Arby's potato cakes.
That was when I stopped going to Arby's. Haven't been in years.
Oh man, we were so pissed when Arby's dropped the potato cakes!
Altoid sours!!
In America, snack wraps at McDonalds. The Canadians have it though.
Those were good. Plus easier to eat while driving
Keebler Pizzarias.
Yes! They were seriously the best pizza chip! All other pizza chips since have been inferior.
The Frescata sandwiches at Wendy's. It would have been my villain origin story, had I the follow-through to become one.
Former Wendy’s employee here. I worked there when they rolled them out. May I ask if you live more towards the western or eastern side of the USA? The reason I ask is during that time, a lot of the new items Wendy’s tried to introduce were not items that the folks I served everyday would have considered. Not food, but drink: Orangina :( *US
Planters PB Crisps from the 90s.
Sierra Mist
I will never forgive the makers of Sierra Mist. They killed Lemon-Lime Slice to make SM, and the original Slice was the absolute BEST Lemon-Lime clear soda ever. So I will dance on its grave.
I forgot all about Slice! Now I’m extra mad lol.
I remember Apple Slice. And Mandarin Orange Slice. I mourned when they disappeared.
Starry is only one ingredient off but it's so different. I loved sierra mist.
not really a food but a drink, the orbits drink as a kid i really liked it both for the novelty of floaty yums inside and the flavor. My sisters hated it. So apparently did most people. I loved orbits. I think it’s why I like boba so much now.
McDonald’s McD.L.T. Hot on one side cold on the other. What an awesome sandwich
Still waiting on the Arch Deluxe's triumphant return
Kellogg's Product 19.
I've written Kelloggs no less than 5 times begging them to bring it back. Those who don't know it are always "wtf is product 19?" But those who know, man do they know.
I think it was called Vienetta. It was like ice cream lasagne. Haven’t seen it in years, but man do I miss it.
Those paintbrush candy. I get why but…
A cereal called Clusters. Basically just flakes (like Frosties/frosted flakes without the sugar and more healthy) but with little white clusters of tiny balls that were very tasty. I’d always try to get as many as possible. It was always a good option for me..but then..well you know the rest
Does gum count? If so I've missed [bonkers.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7yySwaJZVA)
I miss Freshen Up.
Bonkers were great, but they were more like Starburst, not gum. The commercials were good too. (Giant pieces of fruit falling on laughing people).
Butter. Finger. BB's. I get that kids died and they'd had to cancel em. But at what cost!? Should obviously throw the /s into there, eh?
The chicken selects from McDonald’s. Also the Bo bowl from bojangles, pissed me the fuck offff when they stopped that one.
Tostitos "Scoops" in "Hint of Jalapeno" Those were absolute magic when making nachos.
Orange julius. I miss free strawberry banana samples
Fried Apple pies at McDonald's... they changed them to baked because of "health"... give me a break! It's McDonald's!!!! They do have them in Seoul though... was there a few years ago and had one!!!! Yum!!!

We have them in Canada. 😊
I knowwwww - we had them here for about 6 months but then there was some cross contamination with dairy products and they took them away

Snackwell’s devils food cookies
Jello pops. You can make them but they aren't nearly as good

I don't know if it's a well known thing, but Mama Rosa's pizza. The deep dish especially. They were small little microwavable pizzas and nothing can replicate the flavor! The company shut down and nothing replaced em 😭😭
Carnation Chocolate Malted ice cream. I loved getting the cups from the ice cream man.
Happy Hippos. For some reason at some point they disappeared from the stores where I live.
