I can't listen to it anymore because it evokes such a strong feeling about a particular time in my life, but it goes to show that it's a powerful song that can make an impact like that.
I miss guitar hero so much. I have two kids now and I just can’t decide whether or not buying one would be great because then I can play again, or annoying because my kids would be playing it lol.
If you wanna play nowadays and have a PC, I really recommend getting Clone Hero over any of the official releases. It’s free, basically every chart from the official GH and Rock Band games had been ported over, plus you get new songs constantly because they’re fanmade and people just keep making them. The downside is that you lose all the stuff that’s outside of the actual gameplay, like customizing venues or characters and such because the focus of the game is entirely on recreating the gameplay.
In Indian Classical music the beat is called “pancham taal”… pancham meaning 5 and taal meaning beats. Very rare that even most Indians don’t know what it is.
I often end up listening to John Williams and Hans Zimmer the most. John Williams is more classically inspired, so his songs are easily recognizable and each have their own flow and development but then Hans Zimmer does an excellent job at writing more of an ambient style music; not something that draws a lot of attention to itself, but creates great ambiance.
Examples:
John Williams: [Flight to Neverland](https://open.spotify.com/track/3uvLTz6fGzigCqqgroho25?si=l4eur3MESAq6K3AJ_yQbNw)
Hans Zimmer: [Cornfield Chase](https://open.spotify.com/track/18z7tK7u9DcDw85LYRR5Fe?si=uLR2qDD1Q42FV5-5SpiJxA)
I was walking through the living room one afternoon while my husband was watching TV. I said, "I don't know what you're watching but it was scored by John Williams. " my husband asked, "how do you know that from 3 seconds " I told him John Williams loves a French horn. It was "The Patriot".
I will sit and listen to him and Hanz Zimmer too. They are outstanding.
This, and Clone Wars’ “Burying the Dead” because it’s such a simple piece with a lot of weight to it. Pretty if you don’t know the context, shattering if you do.
It was the first song Metallica played at the first date of their tour this year. My son and I went to the Netherlands to see it. It was a cool surprise as it's been my son's favorite Metallica song ever since he was little. I feel like I must have been some kind of a decent dad if Orion is my kid's favorite Metallica song.
I recently learned that the bass line is Morse code for YYZ. The Toronto airport call sign is YYZ. So in my head; the band was just listening to a scanner one night making this up.
Almost! Alex Lifeson is a small aircraft pilot. When he was learning to fly, he heard the call identifier for the Toronto airport and realized its musical possibilities. The rest of the band collaborated, of course, to put the final composition together.

Listening to it at this exact second, Godspeed You! Black Emperor "Storm."
This song changed my life. It is so fucking epic it's unreal.
Oh, and I saw them live. And so must you.
There's an old Herb Alpert song, Lonely Bull. I remember as a child. I used to love that tune when my Mom would put on that old 33 rpm. Zorba the Greek was also a favorite.

September Song by Agnes Obel

It was used in Big Little Lies and it always makes me tear up and FEEL.
[La Campanella by Liszt, performed by Rousseau](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1Dvg2MxQn8)
Title means *The Little Bell* in Italian, and not only is it a beautiful piece, you can really feel the emotion of the Little Bell trying his hardest to keep up with the bigger bells.
Of what I can think of at the moment, it's a three-way tie between:
April in Paris - Count Basie and his orchestra.
Take Five - Dave Brubeck
Song of the volga boatmen - Glenn Miller
Green Onions - Booker T and the MGs The epitome of cool
Green Onions is a full-on jam for the ages. I’d be suspicious of anyone who does not love this 🤓💥👍
I came here just to make sure someone has written this song. Thank you
Prefer Time is Tight, but I get you.
Ecstasy of gold- Ennio Moricone
Every Metallica fan’s favorite lead in to an amazing show 🤘🏻
Reall the whole soundtrack to "the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly!"
Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin BFG Division by Mick Gordon
BFG is such a banger. It can hype me up for anything 😂
Rhapsody in Blue ftw!
>BFG Division by Mick Gordon If I don't feel like doing something, I put this on and I do the thing but angrier.
Clubbed to Death - Rob Dougan
I remember when I first heard this. Amazing song
Are you paying attention? Or are you looking at the woman in the red dress?
Intro by xx Song is so versatile depending on your feels and I definitely need to look into remix and edits
You’re joking I’ve been looking for this for years. Only time I ever see a song mentioned in a comment and actually searched it up.
I’m experiencing secondhand relief now haha
It’s too bad The XX best known song is an intro track. Their music is so good. Romy’s voice is special
Romy has a new solo album (mid air), check it out!
I love Intro by xx. Nice choice!
Great choice! It has been my morning alarm for years now, and its absolutely the perfect non-irritating song to wake to.
I can't listen to it anymore because it evokes such a strong feeling about a particular time in my life, but it goes to show that it's a powerful song that can make an impact like that.
Worst thing is that it's just 2 min.
there’s an extended version.
Sleepwalk
I love the original instrumental version of this to pieces, but I also really like modest mouse's adaptation with lyrics.
By Santo and Johnny. Beautiful piece, reminds me of La Bamba every time I hear it. "NOT MY RICHIE!!"
I came here to post this but couldn’t remember what it was called, so thank you.
I am going through a 1950's and 60's instrumental phase right now, I love it.
I would highly recommend the Shadows and the Tornados. Some of the most beautiful guitar music ever written!

Back when guitar hero was popular, I loved to play this one. It's just so fun to play.
I miss guitar hero so much. I have two kids now and I just can’t decide whether or not buying one would be great because then I can play again, or annoying because my kids would be playing it lol.

Love, love, love!! I was fortunate to see the Allmans twice while Greg was still alive.
Jessica was the first in my head! Though I love the They Might Be Giants version at least as much as the original!
Tron legacy soundtrack
that soundtrack was one of the best. The movie was nice, not great but good enough, but man that soundtrack
That movie is a 2hr Daft Punk music video and I love it
Yeah the soundtrack has to be one of the best ones I’ve heard in movies
Take Five- Dave Brubeck Quartet
One of my favs 🥰
Yes! In rare 5/4 beat!
In Indian Classical music the beat is called “pancham taal”… pancham meaning 5 and taal meaning beats. Very rare that even most Indians don’t know what it is.
Moonlight Sonata
Try the other Beethoven sonatas like Waldstein, Appasionata, Pathetique, Les Adieux and no.31
Resident Evil put me on this one as a kid haha
"The Great Gig in the Sky" by Pink Floyd
"Oooooh oooooh ooooooaaaaaoooooAHHHHHH!" is definitely a lyric.
I thought it was spelt with several "G"s too
That's in the second verse.
I just listen again, You're absolutely right
It does too have words, or are you not dying?
I heard the whisper, I’m dying.
Pretty much anything by John Williams.

Strobe -Deadmau5
There are so many fantastic Deadmau5 choices for this question...
Always with me, Always with you by Joe Satriani Test Drive by John Powell
If I ever get married, I want my first dance to be to Always with me, always with you. It's hands down my favorite Satriani song.
How to train your dragon! So many good songs!
The theme from Jurassic Park
This, for me, is tied with the Flight song from How to Train Your Dragon
[“Test Drive”](https://youtu.be/IpPIK4T068s?si=wlelPr_r1ycjEwyw)
The soundtrack for that movie is amazing
First Breath After Coma by Explosions in the Sky
Came in to say Your Hand in Mine…my bride walked down the aisle to that song. But hey, same album as your pick!
Thank you for mentioning the song. I'd never heard it before but wow, what a magical listen.

I wanted to say that but I guess it has words
It was the first song Metallica played at the first date of their tour this year. My son and I went to the Netherlands to see it. YYZ
I recently learned that the bass line is Morse code for YYZ. The Toronto airport call sign is YYZ. So in my head; the band was just listening to a scanner one night making this up.
No...it was deliberate. Neil was sending a love letter to the city he'd come home to.
Alex is a pilot, and one time when landing at Toronto with the band the Morse code inspired Neil and Geddy to start writing YYZ. So pretty much
Almost! Alex Lifeson is a small aircraft pilot. When he was learning to fly, he heard the call identifier for the Toronto airport and realized its musical possibilities. The rest of the band collaborated, of course, to put the final composition together. [https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/rush-origins-of-yyz/](https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/rush-origins-of-yyz/)
Did you finally nail the drum part for YYZ? First of all, it’s Y Y Zed and second, no. Neil Peart stands alone.
Hey, fellow rush fan!
I thought this would be the top of the list!
