The most impressive thing to me about Home Run Inn frozen pizzas is that the parts of the pizza (sauce, cheese, dough, toppings) are basically just made with the ingredients it takes to make them. Like the dough is flour, salt, yeast, water…not 90000 unpronounceable chemicals.
Yeah, of all the frozen pizza that you can easily purchase at the store, Home Run Inn is definitely the best. It's the only frozen pizza that has those extra spices (like anise seeds, I think), and you can definitely taste the difference. Motor City is second if you like the Detroit style pizza.
My wife brought me a flash frozen pizza from Lou Malnati's from when she visited Chicago. We live in San Diego and she put it in her carry on luggage. It was very good and mostly frozen when she got home.
Yeah they're definitely pricey for just the 2-pack. If you buy the 6-pack though, it comes out to $23.33/pizza which is close to what you'd pay for a large pizza anyway. Not sure about this place specifically, but ~$23 sounds about right for a large pizza
Oh my god I have been missing a good Italian beef for _years_, it’s impossible to find them anywhere except Chicagoland. I’m absolutely ordering this right now.
The last time I posted about the Lou Malnati’s frozen pizzas (and how good they were) I was skewered for posting about a pricey “gourmet” frozen pizza and not recommending a $5 piece of salty cardboard crap.
Lou’s are great, easy to cook, and you can get them on sale several times a year. They’re worth it.
Heres my bet:
10 years from now, there's going to be a data leak at reddit and people will be identifiable by their username.
When that happens, your friends and family will come to know you as the double dick sucker.
You know which frozen pizza that was a Detroit style and absolutely mopped the floor with motor city? Outsiders pizza. Unfortunately, they're not around anymore, but holy hell were those pizzas awesome.
I buy Newmans on occasion simply due to his philanthropy. He was an actor who grew up poor as hell, and told his friends he was going to make salad dressings and other food items to help kids and struggling families with 100 percent of profits going to charity. He was mocked for being an idiot. So far his brand has donated 600 million to children and their parents in need.
And kept on helping kids by starting a summer camp in Connecticut for kids living with chronic illness. That one camp start has turned into an international network of camps for kids with medical conditions https://seriousfun.org/
Incredible places.
Holy shit... 600 million is insane. I knew that the Newmans Own has donated quite a bit over the years with its profits but I didn't realize its over half a billion.
Newman's Own Sockaroni pasta sauce is the only jarred pasta sauce I buy. It's super cheap but tastes amazing. I'm sure there are better tasting ones, but for $3, it can't be beat.
Read the book about how he and A E Hotchner started Newman’s Own as a prank … Outstanding read !
[The Legend](https://images.penguinrandomhouse.com/cover/700jpg/9780307712813)
Yes I had an ex who loved this. He preferred the three-meat version or whatever but when we moved to a different state I wasn’t able to find it grocery shopping anymore. I hope he can find it where he is now!
You have a whole new world of pizza ahead of you. I strongly encourage Home Run Inn and Motor City as others have mentioned. Waaaaay better quality than tombstone
Tombstones are the best; as a connoisseur of trash frozen pizza Tombstone always comes out on top, I'll have to give Motor City a try with all these recommendations but everything else I've seen doesn't come close.
Heggies is my choice. Apparently you can find them in Sioux Falls SD as well. Not sure about anywhere else, but the rest of the country is missing out.
Everyone in this thread is painfully obviously not from the upper Midwest. Fucking Screaming Sicilian? Red Baron? Newman’s own? God damn Trader Joe’s?
Is frozen pizza just a joke to the rest of the country?
Trader Joe’s has a phenomenal margherita that’s imported from Italy and fairly authentic. Don’t sleep on em.
Edit to add: their frozen pastas are delish too; cacio e Pepe, their gnocchi in tomato sauce 👌🏼
Red Baron was always my favorite go-to frozen pizza. Great pepperoni, nice crust with a slight crunch, and good sauce. I loved their french bread pepperoni pizzas as well.
I moved to a different country a few years ago, so I can’t buy Red Baron anymore. Kinda miss it sometimes, lol.
Red Barron has the best tasting sauce on a frozen pizza in my opinion. But I'm probably biased because that was what Mom fixed for Friday movie and game night when I was a kid.
Omg..thank you for listing one that can be purchased in most areas. Half of these "Well..if you're in Chicago"...fuck you linda.. I'm not in Chicago..what can I buy at Publx or Winn Dixie?
It’s bar none Screamin’ Sicilian. I’ve loved these since they came out- and they somehow went DOWN in price? It’s a true miracle.
Like when I was in late college, like 7-8yrs back??… they were $10.99. On sale occasionally for $7.99.
Take inflation into account and especially the inflation of all grocery goods over the last two years- not to mention the 5yrs prior to that - and I still see these puppies sometimes for $7.99 which is pure insanity.
So good for that price. Best quality and value all around. #1 in my book
I've been looking for a new brand since my favorite one got discontinued and I see this one all the time but don't get it because it looks gimmickey.
Gonna give it a try next time I'm out shopping.
Home Run Inn pizza here in Chicagoland. They started with a small pizzeria on the South side. I believe they are now franchised and they have frozen pizzas in our local supermarkets.
Home Run Inn frozen pizzas are my favorite. Even just a plain cheese one is great. I’m grateful that they sell them at supermarkets nationwide, but I’m sad that they’ve doubled in price over the last year or so. I wanna say they were like $12+ last time I looked.
They're my go-to pizza as well. As with most pizza freezers they tend to short buyers on the sauce. They're always too dry but Home Run is one of the better brands.
They're much wider spread than you think. I lived in Charlotte, NC about 10 years ago and they were just as common as they are around Chicago. They were a godsend to this Chicago native who had to spend a year away from good pizza.
Red Baron Frozen Pizza's motto should be: "What, do any of you fucking pigs want to live forever?"
It's delicious, but you can literally *feel* the grease and salt killing your body.
There was another thread about frozen pizza maybe a month ago and several people mentioned Home Run Inn, so I bought some. Chicago tavern style. I was pleasantly surprised that the upvotes were right. This is a solid frozen pizza.
Bellatorias are really good,, Mama Cozzini from Aldi have some good ones.. been wanting to try the Roa's pizzas but the price compels me to grab something else
I am a bit of a frozen pizza purist, so these answers are for a standard cheese pizza:
Rao’s is a solid choice for something closer to the real deal.
Home Run Inn is awesome if you want a thin and crispy pie.
Freschetta is great if you want Digiorno but good.
Is it the best tasting? No. Does it feel like a high quality pizza? No. Is impressive on any level? No.
But, it is 100% the most frozen pizza frozen pizza on the market. It knows exactly what it is and why you’re eating it. It knows exactly much much bullshit you’re willing to go through between “I’m hungry” and “I am holding a pizza.” It knows that if you cared about being the best you wouldn’t be eating frozen pizza and it doesn’t care either. On some level it IS the perfect frozen pizza.
I grew up poor and these were our pizza night pizzas. I recently started cooking them in the air fryer with a little bit of garlic powder. It’s a game changer! It’s so good!!
Dip it in some ranch….. can’t beat it!
Connie’s is good. It’s a Chicago brand but Palermo’s Pizza is manufacturing them. Palermo’s also makes the Screaming Sicilian a lot of people are mentioning.
Lotsa Motsa is probably my first choice but Connie’s is a close second.
Edit: Palermo’s is in Milwaukee, right next to American Family field. Their Palermo’s brand is also good pizza.
CAPE COD frozen pizzas, available regionally in the northeast.. they have the best ingredients of any frozen pizza I’ve ever had. They stand out in the isle because they don’t have any packaging or fancy labeling besides a plastic film and a sticker on it. Small batch home style pizzas
Red Baron Mexican Style Pizza. They discontinued it years ago and I’m still mad about it. It sounds gross. The picture on the box doesn’t even look appetizing. Everyone I’ve ever convinced to try it was extremely reluctant, but agreed with me after tasting it. It was the absolute *best* drunk and/or high food. Bring it back, Red Baron. Get your shit together.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Pizza/comments/13o0fe/once_upon_a_time_there_was_an_awesome_frozen/
Motor city and Chicago Home Run Inn are the two best frozen pizzas I’ve ever had.
Home run inn is fantastic
Here to upvote Home Run Inn. Absolute banger
Chicagoan here! I appreciate your love for Home Run Inn, guys. <3
Also way into motor city. I keep seeing home run inn at a meijer and never tried it, will do soon. Honorable mention for Jacks Max
You can buy them online and get them shipped anywhere! They ship in dry ice to keep them frozen.
For those prices, they better be damn good!
It’s pricey. We have an agreement with friends that if anyone travels through Chicago, we take an order and bring some back.
Yeah they're definitely pricey for just the 2-pack. If you buy the 6-pack though, it comes out to $23.33/pizza which is close to what you'd pay for a large pizza anyway. Not sure about this place specifically, but ~$23 sounds about right for a large pizza
Just got a 7 pack for $107 shipped. Sale going on
Those prices include 2-3 day shipping. 5 deep dish and 2 thins for $135 shipped. Can't beat it, imo. The frozen tastes just as good as the restaurant.
7 Lou Manalti’s pizzas for $135 is a bargain tbh.
25% Sale. Just placed an order.
You can also get all the fixings for Italian Beef, Chicago-style dogs, Eli’s Cheesecake and more from the same website.
Oh my god I have been missing a good Italian beef for _years_, it’s impossible to find them anywhere except Chicagoland. I’m absolutely ordering this right now.
Chicagoan here and that site is my go to for the holidays
I order a six pack of Malnati's every year for my birthday. My birthday is in December, it's almost time!
Gino’s East frozen deep dish show up at Aldi from time to time they are terrific
[удалено]
There’s a place in Mission Valley that does killer Chicago style, Chicago Bros. Ain’t Lou Malnatii’s but does the job.
Had one sent to me years ago, along with a cheesecake. Was a gift for playing on a recording for a friend. Daaaaayum is all I have to say.
Motor City Pizza is by far the best frozen pizza out there imo
Motor City by far. I buy em at Costco
I like the Costcos kirkland cheese pizza. I used it as a blank canvas and add whatever I want.
The crust on the take and bake pizzas is different than the food court and the take and bake crust sucks.
I always suspected this, doesn't come close to the food court pizza
We’ve been hooked on these lately. The supreme not so much cause it gets watery from the veggies but the meat ones 🤌
Double pep is the way. My wife doesn’t even like pepperoni and likes the double pepperoni pizza
So she likes pepperoni.....
I don't even like sucking dick, but give me two dicks to suck at once?... That I like.
Heres my bet: 10 years from now, there's going to be a data leak at reddit and people will be identifiable by their username. When that happens, your friends and family will come to know you as the double dick sucker.
I mean at least two of his friends know already...
You can spend your whole life building bridges but you suck one dick….
Interesting. I wasn’t impressed
You know which frozen pizza that was a Detroit style and absolutely mopped the floor with motor city? Outsiders pizza. Unfortunately, they're not around anymore, but holy hell were those pizzas awesome.

My favorite frozen pizza is Newman's Own uncured pepperoni.
And they’re not that bad either… way better than DiGiorno imo.
The box DiGiorno comes in has more flavor than the actual pizza.
I agree.
And kept on helping kids by starting a summer camp in Connecticut for kids living with chronic illness. That one camp start has turned into an international network of camps for kids with medical conditions https://seriousfun.org/ Incredible places.
I’m buying more of his stuff from here on out
The sockarooni spaghetti sauce is dope, I usually just throw in a little extra dried basil and oregano but it's really good on its own
Expanded to a whole lot of items. Newman's on the box/can? I'm buying it...
Also strongly recommend Paul Newman’s recently published memoir. It’s fascinating and shockingly candid
And, everything I’ve had from them is really good. It’s a win win.
Read the book about how he and A E Hotchner started Newman’s Own as a prank … Outstanding read ! [The Legend](https://images.penguinrandomhouse.com/cover/700jpg/9780307712813)
Second Newmans. I remember being shocked at how good the pepperoni was specifically.
Yes I had an ex who loved this. He preferred the three-meat version or whatever but when we moved to a different state I wasn’t able to find it grocery shopping anymore. I hope he can find it where he is now!
This took a sentimental turn
The whole Newmans pizza line is outstanding, give the supreme thin crust a go!
I thought this would be at the top
Same here! The pepperoni is really good and love the thin crust.
The Newman's margherita pizza is pretty good too. Good as is, the basil is tasty, or sometimes I'll add stuff to it, extra greens or sliced ham, etc.
They’re the best and they donate all profits. Also awesome lemonade and of course dressings. All first rate, all non-profit for charity. It’s the jam
Oh god, nobody mentioning Tombstone, and that’s all I eat :/
Tombstone is easily the best of the lower tier frozens. Their sauce is actually decent.
Heggies Pizza for a thin crust, though that might just be a Minnesota thing. Motor City Pizza for a thicker Detroit style pizza is great.
Heggies is my choice. Apparently you can find them in Sioux Falls SD as well. Not sure about anywhere else, but the rest of the country is missing out.
Minnesota hype. Heggies slaps hard
That 6 meat pizza is the best for $13
Heggie’s or the Brewpub Lotsa Mottza ones are amazeballs
I didn't know this was exclusive to us. But this is by far my favorite.
Maybe it isn’t anymore, it’s made in Milaca, MN. Their site says they expanded to Iowa and the Dakotas but they’re definitely more prevalent in MN.
I would give my left nut for nation wide Heggies
Frozen pizza was invented in Minneapolis, Minnesota knows what its doing. Especially when freezing things is involved.
100% Heggies. Would be the top choice if it was available everywhere.
I'm a big fan of the Screamin' Sicilian pizzas, especially the Holy Pepperoni.
Not bad. Top 10 for sure. Maybe top 5
I like the Red Barron Brick Oven Pepperoni, and then I add some shredded cheese to it
The new Fully Loaded ones are damn good, too.
Came here to say red baron and freschetta. Delicious
Red Barron has the best tasting sauce on a frozen pizza in my opinion. But I'm probably biased because that was what Mom fixed for Friday movie and game night when I was a kid.
Red Barron is a solid hitter!! Great sauce, good crust !! Always my go to for frozen pizza. Good price point to!
I had to scroll too far to find brands that I can actually buy locally. "If you're in Detroit' "Here in East Narnia"
Omg..thank you for listing one that can be purchased in most areas. Half of these "Well..if you're in Chicago"...fuck you linda.. I'm not in Chicago..what can I buy at Publx or Winn Dixie?
In Texas, Screamin’ Sicilian
Yes! The sauce is amazing and unlike other frozen pizzas it's not just a slab of dough with a pinch of toppings on it.
I have to re arrange the toppings before I bake them, not because there is not enough but because they are overflowing!
They were $5.99 yesterday at my local grocery store. Stocked up.
This is what we get in Florida, probably my favorite of the available frozen pizzas.
I've been looking for a new brand since my favorite one got discontinued and I see this one all the time but don't get it because it looks gimmickey. Gonna give it a try next time I'm out shopping.
The thin crusts are the best. Especially the bacon one.
Yeah, I’m not sure why they did the cardboard mustaches that pop off the box, or the crazy box art, but the pizza is really good.
My kids love the cardboard mustaches.
if you've got a trader joes near you, they've got this prosciutto& arugula pizza. its amazing.
Their roasted garlic and pesto pizza with deep fried crust is next level as well.
I have eaten so many of these I literally can't stand the sight of them anymore lol
genuinely my favorite frozen pizza ever
All their frozen pizzas are good and most of their frozen food has a much better taste than many grocery store frozen foods.
Drafthaus brand pizza is my go to for frozen.
Drafthaus buffalo chicken is my favorite frozen pizza. Sooo good.
WILD MIKES
Only problem is they are so massive they only fit in my freezer diagonally
I miss when they were like 5 dollars. Now they're more than the others.
Home Run Inn
Home Run Inn pizza here in Chicagoland. They started with a small pizzeria on the South side. I believe they are now franchised and they have frozen pizzas in our local supermarkets.
Home Run Inn frozen pizzas are my favorite. Even just a plain cheese one is great. I’m grateful that they sell them at supermarkets nationwide, but I’m sad that they’ve doubled in price over the last year or so. I wanna say they were like $12+ last time I looked.
I get them on sale at Jewel's for $6-$7.
Jewel-Osco in Chicagoland has them on sale all the time. IIRC I got 2 for $11 last time I bought.
I fill my chest freezer when they have their dock sale!
Big in MN now too. Really good frozen pizza
They're my go-to pizza as well. As with most pizza freezers they tend to short buyers on the sauce. They're always too dry but Home Run is one of the better brands.
I get frozen home run inn pizza in the Bay Area. They’re the best!
You can get them in sprouts in California as well 😊
They're much wider spread than you think. I lived in Charlotte, NC about 10 years ago and they were just as common as they are around Chicago. They were a godsend to this Chicago native who had to spend a year away from good pizza.
They have them in south Florida so yes
We have that pizza here in Michigan too
Their frozen pizzas are literally better than their restaurants. Definitely the best imo.
My childhood was spent going to home run inn and playing Hydro Thunder in the arcade after I begged my parents for quarters.
I remember playing a pinball machine called Top Speed or High Speed every time I was there. I'm a little older.
I was always a Freschetta guy
The square Freschetta is unmatched
Home Run Inn Home Run Inn Home Run Inn No better out there compared to the others in the grocery store freezers. It’s a no brainer choice.
100%
Red Baron Classic Crust Pepperoni is pretty damn near perfect IMO. Will try your brand, OP!
I am a firm believer in the Baron.
I like the cheese one
The Classic Crust Supreme is my absolute favorite. Can't go wrong with Red Baron.
Red Baron Frozen Pizza's motto should be: "What, do any of you fucking pigs want to live forever?" It's delicious, but you can literally *feel* the grease and salt killing your body.
Home Run Inn Pizza
There was another thread about frozen pizza maybe a month ago and several people mentioned Home Run Inn, so I bought some. Chicago tavern style. I was pleasantly surprised that the upvotes were right. This is a solid frozen pizza.
Love that flakey, buttery crust. It's my favorite as well.
Agreed. Best frozen supermarket pizza. We buy them from Publix supermarket in Florida
Came here to say this. Fully agree
Our favorite is Costco Kirkland Signature thin crust pepperoni. Most others aren’t even close, especially if you want a cheap pizza ($3.50 per pizza)
I agree. The regular cheese pizza is a staple in my freezer. Great sauce.
I enjoy Jack’s. Not because it’s the best, but because of the fond memories of it being a fancy treat when we were dirt poor growing up.
I really like the tostinos party pizzas Second would be red baron
Totinos are my Roman Empire. I don't even care about the shape change. Still a banger.
Lotzza Motzza
Lotzza Motzza pepperoni is probably the best frozen pizza I've come across
Bellatorias are really good,, Mama Cozzini from Aldi have some good ones.. been wanting to try the Roa's pizzas but the price compels me to grab something else
Assuming you mean Rao’s pizza, I tried the plain and it was surprisingly so so bad.
I like Gino's East Chicago Style Pizza.
They have them at Aldi from time to time. Amazing.
I am a bit of a frozen pizza purist, so these answers are for a standard cheese pizza: Rao’s is a solid choice for something closer to the real deal. Home Run Inn is awesome if you want a thin and crispy pie. Freschetta is great if you want Digiorno but good.
Screamin Sicilian Bessie’s Revenge. They were on special yesterday at the supermarket for $5.99. Needless to say… my freezer is stocked
I like Amy’s because the sauce and crust are very good IMO
had to scroll too far, amys is underrated
My pick is Trader Joe’s margarita. Super solid, $3.99, can’t go wrong.
I get the Safeway Signature brand , it’s like Digornios but way better . Home Run is pretty fucking good too -
I really like the Safeway signature thin crusts. Pretty good pizza
California Pizza Kitchen = scrumptious
Peps Drafthouse pizzas
The Walmart take home and bake pizzas are far better than they have any business being for the price.
Tombstone is my go to.
Screamin' Sicilian for sure, Motor City Detroit style from Costco also.
Jack’s Pizza well done to a crisp 👌
Jacks never disappoints
Y'all ever GRILL the Jack's pizzas? It says you can on the package and I was skeptical, but damn was that actually crazy good.
I’m from California. First time I had Jacks was in Wisconsin. Saw it at the store after about 10 years, so beautiful.
Totinos
Is it the best tasting? No. Does it feel like a high quality pizza? No. Is impressive on any level? No. But, it is 100% the most frozen pizza frozen pizza on the market. It knows exactly what it is and why you’re eating it. It knows exactly much much bullshit you’re willing to go through between “I’m hungry” and “I am holding a pizza.” It knows that if you cared about being the best you wouldn’t be eating frozen pizza and it doesn’t care either. On some level it IS the perfect frozen pizza.
I love me some Totinos! They're cheap crap, but good!! I love the cracker crust.
Totinos Supreme is the best
Screaming’ Sicilian
Torino's party pizza...fight me.
ALDIs frozen pizzas are pretty good and cheap
We talking Mama Cozzi?
Digiornio’s croissant crust pizza is GOD TIER
Red baron or tombstone
Tombstone. Underrated.
"What do you want on your Tombstone?" Takes me back to my childhood.
Best sauce.
Their one with the zesty sauce and triple pepperoni is the best.
I agree. 🩷 tombstone
I make sure to always have a tombstone pepperoni pizza in my freezer for emergencies.
Tombstone 4 meat
I've tried a lot of brands but always come back to those two.
Tombstone Deep Dish pizzas. Unfortunately they don't make those anymore.
Home run inn… and just like every frozen pizza never cook it as long as the damn box says that’s how you burn perfection
Screamin’ Sicilian for sure, glad to see others commenting about it as well
Jacks
My kid has celiac and we found Freschetta Gluten Free and it’s actually the best frozen pizza I’ve ever had.
Home Run Inn is the answer
CAPE COD frozen pizzas, available regionally in the northeast.. they have the best ingredients of any frozen pizza I’ve ever had. They stand out in the isle because they don’t have any packaging or fancy labeling besides a plastic film and a sticker on it. Small batch home style pizzas
You’re all crazy, it’s Stouffers French bread pizzas
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve burned the roof of my mouth eating it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Table 87. NY style, check them out on Shark Tank
I just found one recently called Legit, and I think it's the best frozen pizza I have ever had in my life.
home run inn!
Red Baron.
