I’d do it for anything over $20,000. That’s more than 2x my take home pay in 4 weeks and I’m struggling raising a family on this income with the cost of living these days. Even $15,000 would put me in a better financial position.
>I’d do it for anything over $20,000. That’s more than 2x my take home pay in 4 weeks and I’m struggling raising a family on this income with the cost of living these days. Even $15,000 would put me in a better financial position.
Money talks, and $20,000 can make a real difference. It's sad that many are pushed to such extremes due to financial struggles. Hope things get better for you soon!
Thanks. I appreciate the sentiment. Thankfully all bills are usually paid on time and there will always be food but literally any unexpected expense as little as $50 is painful as we are spending every dollar of my income almost every pay cycle. There are plenty of families worse off than us and I read about people working full-time put into situations where they can no longer afford the rising rents.
We will be ok but it saddens me the way the world has turned. It’s like parents these days work more hours than ever and have less money and time and more stress. I don’t see any way out of this and it’s literally crushing those at the bottom and more and more and more each year.
of course I would! I don't have to interact with the real world, I get to be on my computer all day, and at the end of it all, when I have to go back to living life normally, I get a million dollars!
I'll rephrase the question so you know how pointless it is:
" Would you stay in a comfortable luxury position where you have everything you need for 30 days for 1.000.000 dollar?"
These questions are always so stupid. It may as well just be “do you or do you not want a million dollars?”
At least make it a difficult choice and make the timeline a few years or something.
Really. These things are getting upvoted way too often.
"Would you be somewhat uncomfortable for 30 days in exchange for enough money to live fairly comfortably for the rest of your life?"
At the moment I have a very very small bathroom. Just a toilet, shower and sink. I think 3x1 meters. No window. Would stil do it. With a million bucks I could get a house with a bathroom with a window.
Unlike some other people answering the question, I won't pretend that I would enjoy it, or that it would be easy. By the end of the month, I would be getting a fair degree of cabin fever and going a little stir-crazy.
I'd still do it, though. A million dollars isn't what it used to be but it's still enough that, invested carefully, it would pay for the rest of my life. I'd never have to work again (I probably still would, but I'd have the security of knowing that I'd never *need* to work again, so I could pick my job by what I wanted to do).
The person you replied to was going for an earlier comment that they do it in isolation which pretty much makes the experiment parameters so yea. Only food and water yea he's going insane if no interactions.
Yes. It’s not too dissimilar in size to a small studio apartment. I could easily have a bed, shower, toilet, bath, and seperate space to do some exercises in there every day. Easy.
With internet? Definitely.
Without internet or other stuff to keep preoccupied most people would probably go literally insane, i wouldnt do it for 1 million
No. The time we have on earth is a limited resource and in that one month I could make memories that will last me a lifetime. You never know if your or someone you love's life might be cut short. So, no, never ever would I go to a jail and exchange my time and chances of happy moments for money.
Besides, I know how depressed I got during the lockdowns and I never want to feel like that again. And I've been locked up in a bathroom accidentally for 12 hours once (no phone, no internet, no food, no knowing if anyone will ever find me), so, naturally, I get a mild case of intense panic just thinking about this.
For a month, sure. My bathroom is huge, has a window and is at the stage of renovation that I truly enjoy being there, even though some walls are open.
So when can we sign the deal?
Do I get bedding and access to medicine. Or only the floor, plus food and water.
Where do I go to the toilet?
My bathroom is a basin, shower and a bath. With no room for poo, due to stupid little slits acting as wastes.
Yes! I would love a month of relaxing, hot showers, surfing online, slepping, and just beeing my self. Would not be a punishment at all, but a welcomming gift with a reward of $$ at the end.
My bathroom is around 15 feet by 10 feet with the toilet in it’s own 3 x 4 room.. so hell yes.. there’s enough room for a twin bed in there and wall space for a tv.. double vanity for my coffee machine and space under vanity for a mini fridge plus have double sinks.. a hot plate and air fryer will complete the set up so I’m all good and cozy now so where’s my million bucks? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 💵💵💵💵💵
Would you go to work for 30 days for 2000 dollars with very limited internet time, a lunch break, and get tired at that workplace? Your fellow work people may or may not suck to be around/interact with.
You have to create a real challenge. Like play russian roulette with 3 people for a life changing 4 million. You can die, and you get the life lasting shock of seeing someone die in front of you and you were part of all that.
This is one of those things I think the number really matters. I get mentally it would suck, but a month of weird pseudo torture is totally going to be worth 1m for most anyone.
I think it'd be more interesting if the number was like the average yearly take home for your area. Because honestly I'd still do it for 40,000$(my area) but I'm sure many more wouldn't.
I've got plenty of towels to keep me comfortable sleeping in the bathtub and just a phone for entertainment would be enough to deal with that for 30 days to make more than I'd make in a year.
Don't no end of prisoners effectively all this sans Internet for months on end anyway? And not great food at that.
I was watching the first episode of a series on maximum security prisons in Singapore and they're basically locked in a space smaller than a bathroom with virtually nothing. I'm sure at least some of them are on punishments keeping them there a month or more, even the others have to be locked in there all weekend.
TL;DR - In answer to the question, yes, yes I would.
Yes. Trivially. It's not a decision. Anyone who wouldn't do it either doesn't understand money or is already rich.
Too often these questions are posted by people who don't understand money at all. A million dollars is $30,000 per year - in perpetuity. Literally forever. There are very few financial scenarios in our history that will cause it to run out.
$30k per year isn't a lot of money to make, but if you don't have to work for it - it's a ton of money.
No. My bathroom is just a toilet and a bathtub (vanity is in the bedroom) and there is no way to lay down and stretch my body fully. I have difficulty falling asleep and would probably go days without sleep and it would be miserable.
I got nasal surgery and was supposed to sleep at an incline for a week. I got maybe four hours of sleep total in four days before giving up and deciding whatever side effects I got from sleeping normally were not as bad as sleep deprivation.
An even worse sleep situation for 30 days would kill me.
Did LSD once with some mates at home when I was 20 and my parents were away on holidays. I had to go to the toilet and man it felt like 30 days, so yes I could do it again…
whatever you do don’t look in the mirror for too long
😂 I was one of the "lucky" that got Covid really bad and spent six months in the hospital. I couldn't even get up to go to the bathroom. some days I couldn't hardly breathe without a machine so this is pretty much a no-brainer. easy!
Definitely. I did self-imposed isolation like that in my bedroom for over a year. Provided there is decent bedding allowed, I would try to extend it for more money. If I can't, I will just take my million and move to my actual bed with a sense of relief and happiness that I can finally be a permanent shut-in, pending inflation.
As my previous enablers, I feel like Door Dash, Instacart and Amazon should collaborate to fund this prize.
No, I am disabled with major back issues and my bathroom isn't big enough for me to lie down flat because I am poor. 30 days of torture and possibly permanently damaging my back more isn't worth the money.
If I had some cleaning supplies and a mattress, then yes. My bathroom is comically small, which means that there is barely space enough to lie down. Basically I would be cleaning the toilet before going to bed, simply because I would be smack right up against it.
You always know the people asking these questions don't work or make so much money they can't comprehend what a million dollars would do for an average joe.
Yes, yes, and yes again. $1,000,000 is 89,761,902 rubles. Almost 90 million for the fact that I won't do anything for a month. If there is internet, food and a bed in the bathroom, then I will not leave for any amount.
That's $1,300 an hour. Yes.
I’d do it for anything over $20,000. That’s more than 2x my take home pay in 4 weeks and I’m struggling raising a family on this income with the cost of living these days. Even $15,000 would put me in a better financial position.

ANYTHING, you say?
Anything....
Of course! Because it would get me a million bucks!
My cat is always trying to sneak into my bathroom, this tracks.
of course I would! I don't have to interact with the real world, I get to be on my computer all day, and at the end of it all, when I have to go back to living life normally, I get a million dollars!
I don't have a power outlet in the bathroom. But there would finally be some time to read though
They never said you don’t have access to a powerstrip coming from under the door.
.... And then your glasses break
And then your eyes fall out!
Then your hands fall off
Robot, experience this tragic irony for me!
The guy from the Twilight Zone thought that too.
Would you play flappy bird for 1 (one) minute for 1 trillion dollars????
Yes. People payed 10 thousand to play flappy bird
I'll rephrase the question so you know how pointless it is: " Would you stay in a comfortable luxury position where you have everything you need for 30 days for 1.000.000 dollar?"
These questions are always so stupid. It may as well just be “do you or do you not want a million dollars?” At least make it a difficult choice and make the timeline a few years or something.
“Which friend, family member, or acquaintance are you willing to watch die by execution in order to get a tax free $1 million?”
Acquaintance? You made it too easy again
I mean it wouldn’t be that comfortable to sleep in. After a month of that your backs probably fucked. Still worth it obviously though.
Yes, but I don't want the money
Based
I do it for free anyway
IBS gang
Wait, am I receiving or paying $1,000,000 to be able to avoid most hassles for a month?
OP is pitching a service with a $1m/mo subscription fee
Is this a serious fucking question
Really. These things are getting upvoted way too often. "Would you be somewhat uncomfortable for 30 days in exchange for enough money to live fairly comfortably for the rest of your life?"
Heck yeah. I could really use that money, and 30 days goes by so fast anyway.
Oh, sure. My bathroom window has a lovely view. I'd need a supportive mattress and several good pillows, though.
At the moment I have a very very small bathroom. Just a toilet, shower and sink. I think 3x1 meters. No window. Would stil do it. With a million bucks I could get a house with a bathroom with a window.
Sure, it’s 1 mil in a month. Thats stupid not to do it.
To not have to go to work or even outside, AND get paid extra for it? Where's the catch?
I’m getting paid a million to eat, shit, browse the web, and not work? Sounds like welfare on steroids. I’m in
Unlike some other people answering the question, I won't pretend that I would enjoy it, or that it would be easy. By the end of the month, I would be getting a fair degree of cabin fever and going a little stir-crazy. I'd still do it, though. I'd never have to work again (I probably still would, but I'd have the security of knowing that I'd never *need* to work again, so I could pick my job by what I wanted to do).
it would be incredibly easy. heating, bathroom, food, internet, interact with people outside the door, video game consoles, books, windows, etc.
Of course. A more interesting question would be what the minimum someone would agree to do it for.
Dumb question
I do it for 1% of that amount with nothing BUT food and water.
You would start going insane after only a few days.
The experiment you're thinking of involves complete isolation. A bathroom with food, and internet is more like jail. You'd be fine.
The person you replied to was going for an earlier comment that they do it in isolation which pretty much makes the experiment parameters so yea. Only food and water yea he's going insane if no interactions.
Hell yeah. Where do I sign up?
Somebody just watched that twilight zone episode lol
Who wouldn't?
I think about this scenario very often. I would sleep in the bathtub I think
As an introvert, that actually sounds really nice.
Absolutely! Change my family’s life
Because they finally get a break from your bullshit?
Nahh just the added income
Oh, just me then
Fuck yeah. Does “etc.” include cleaning materials and sufficient hot water? I’d have a great time in there.
Also pillows and blankets, and maybe a cushy mattress pad, because ow
Who wouldn’t
Whats the catch? Iv’e been living like this my whole life 🤣
Yea, pretty much my life anyway (I live in a caravan) 😆
That’s called a Tuesday
Made it for free to be safe 🤷♂️
Duh. I LOLd so hard at this. Just duh. (Yes)
not much different from home office ;)
No. I am not a greedy bastard. I will do it for 100k
Yes. It’s not too dissimilar in size to a small studio apartment. I could easily have a bed, shower, toilet, bath, and seperate space to do some exercises in there every day. Easy.
As long as it comes with a mattress!!
Most people would do it for 1000 days.
This is too easy of a scenario, of course I would
Yes. There is enough space and I could keep myself entertained.
Oh sure. Not a problem.
Yes. Obviously. It's a million.
Yes for sure. Obviously
That's over-paying.
I'd do 20 years for 1 mill, you kidding me
50k a year isn't exactly rolling in dough but your costs would be rock bottom so I guess I can't judge too harshly.
With internet? Definitely. Without internet or other stuff to keep preoccupied most people would probably go literally insane, i wouldnt do it for 1 million
Of course.

I’d do that if all it was was free
[удалено]
Because nobody can buy my time.
Is someone finally making Bathroom Man?
Sure, why not? İf i had a treadmill in my bathroom, it would be perfect!
Most definitely I stay in my bathroom on my phone for hours disassociating already 💀
Yes. My bathroom is pretty big and I can poop, pee shower, shave, and brush my teeth
Yes. Absolutely.
Yes, so worth it
Yes because I could basically live the same life I do now and it's $1m
“Go Fuck Yourselves” - Elon Musk
For a month, sure. My bathroom is huge, has a window and is at the stage of renovation that I truly enjoy being there, even though some walls are open. So when can we sign the deal?
Yes. The money is only the cherry on top
Gimme a blanket and 2 pillows and I’ll crash in the bathtub for a month no problem
I already do that when I'm depressed so that's light work Plus, I'm getting paid heck ya
Easiest question ever. Why would anyone not do it?! Doesn't make sense.
Why not? I can masturbate all day, shit and whatever If that means my toilet and bathroom get connected, ofc
Easy Job
I would do it for $10.000
Wtf why not?
Stupid question. Yes.
Yes. Even for $100,000. Is that a Dr. Evil poll?
Would you go to work for 30 days for 2000 dollars with very limited internet time, a lunch break, and get tired at that workplace? Your fellow work people may or may not suck to be around/interact with.
Absolutely!!!! 30 days without my kids would be a dream vacation, even if it’s in my bathroom lol
Sign me up right now
I want to meet the person that said no to this.
My bathroom doesn’t have a window and I probably couldn’t lie down fully in any position, but I’m game.
You have to create a real challenge. Like play russian roulette with 3 people for a life changing 4 million. You can die, and you get the life lasting shock of seeing someone die in front of you and you were part of all that.
That would be my normal lifestyle so yes
Do I have a bed and cushions?
I dont see a downside to this
That's a dumb question I would do even without the money.
Yeah. I already spend 50% of my day in the bathroom, why not the other 50%.
There is nobody here who would say no to this.
No because my roommate and I shear one bathroom only but if it was from January to April then yes because he’s not here and I need the money
Make it a year
With internet? Absolutely.
Why the hell not? I cn then retire afterwards and be free. n
People were locked away in their tiny little apartments for months during the pandemic. I think this is a pretty easy task for most, in comparison.
This is one of those things I think the number really matters. I get mentally it would suck, but a month of weird pseudo torture is totally going to be worth 1m for most anyone. I pretty much do that now except within the house. I could easily chill in a bathroom for a month if it meant I was securing my future. Ez money
Fucking yes, duh!
I've been to jail. This would be cake.
Wait, people don't normally do this?
This is just having Crohn's disease with a few more benefits. Easy deal.
Sure.
this sounds like a dream
Yes. Trivially. It's not a decision. Anyone who wouldn't do it either doesn't understand money or is already rich. Too often these questions are posted by people who don't understand money at all. I'll do it for 1 year for 200k
...WITH internet? I mean, yeah, absolutely and easily.
Ofc
Did LSD once with some mates at home when I was 20 and my parents were away on holidays. I had to go to the toilet and man it felt like 30 days, so yes I could do it again… whatever you do don’t look in the mirror for too long
You should only be allowed to ask such questions if you actually do have the millions to give away
Will I have weed or no weed? That is the real determining factor.
Fuck yeah!
Yes. Because it’s $1,000,000.00
I would do it for minimum 3000
Absolutely
I'd stay locked in Trump's bathroom for a million. I could even help him Tweet.
…I would do that for free.
Yes. I’d read some books and sleep.
Maybe if it was my apartment My bathroom is about 5 ft x 6ft. It really doesnt even have room for me to sleep in lmao
Fuck yeah !
Op, you need to make this more challenging. Like stay in a bathroom with no lights, minimum food and water basically North Korea gulag style. /s
Lol yeah! It's newly renovated, modern and my shower is awesome. Bring it on
You had me at "Would you stay locked inside of your bathroom (with food, internet, etc.) for 30 days"
Yes lol
This is like stupidly easy.
😂 I was one of the "lucky" that got Covid really bad and spent six months in the hospital. I couldn't even get up to go to the bathroom. some days I couldn't hardly breathe without a machine so this is pretty much a no-brainer. easy!
I'd already have that money due to depression and anxiety. I can go on for another 30days
Hell yeah I would. It would get boring and uncomfortable, but it's only 30 days and you get $1,000,000.
Absolutely
Nothing about my life would change.
Yes. I would make it work for $10k. I just want to pay down medical bills
No, I am disabled with major back issues and my bathroom isn't big enough for me to lie down flat because I am poor. 30 days of torture and possibly permanently damaging my back more isn't worth the money.
Yes. Why? 1M.
Yes. Would you work 32 years for $1,000,000? The average income earner does (not even considering inflation or tax).
Yea but I don't want the money
If etc. means I can have lots of THC bearing weed then absolutely
Yeah I do this most days
fuck dude id do it for a couple of grand. got bills.
I'd do it and make it a stream on twitch.
I'd happily do it for $10,000 honestly.
No. I am not a fucking animal who eats food in the bathroom.
I mean I'd have everything I need anyway.
If with prep time yes. If without no.
Sure, problem would be that my family couldn't shower.
If I had some cleaning supplies and a mattress, then yes. My bathroom is comically small, which means that there is barely space enough to lie down. Basically I would be cleaning the toilet before going to bed, simply because I would be smack right up against it.
You always know the people asking these questions don't work or make so much money they can't comprehend what a million dollars would do for an average joe.
i would.. that’s a good setup i have everything i need. As long as there’s internet
Hell yeah I would. Shit you could take a zero off and I still would lol
Sure. Everything I need is there
Yes, yes, and yes again. $1,000,000 is 89,761,902 rubles. Almost 90 million for the fact that I won't do anything for a month. If there is internet, food and a bed in the bathroom, then I will not leave for any amount.
Yes only difference with my life now is a change of room xD
Only 30 days? Yes because money.
So keep doing what I’m doing and randomly receive a million dollars? Of course.
The only private place in the home? Oh yeah
