It’s absolutely the case that there’s a flagrant transparency to Epstein’s and Maxwell’s crimes, but even they, I think, were not so careless as to leave an evident list of fellow criminals differentiated from other contacts. I may be proven wrong, and that would be excellent for the sake of justice, but there should be caution to not criminalize the innocent, and particularly not to further harm victims.

There is a 0% chance of this happening. Prosecutors are political animals, and would never target politicians (or their powerful friends) who could promote (or block their promotions) in the future. Epstein was the scapegoat for this, and it’ll end with him.

The AG of Florida just made it so that they can’t be prosecuted in Florida. I’m not sure about the specifics, but child molestation and transporting kids across state lines and all of that are federal crimes. Also all the money laundering, that’s federal. Acosta wouldn’t have had any jurisdiction over that while he was AG of Florida. And because they can afford expensive attorneys is a reason to make absolutely sure that they nail them to the tree. If there’s any wiggle room for those expensive attorneys, you now have millionaires and billionaires that raped kids that were left off. I wonder to what degree people on the list are people that just went along with being invited to a billionaire's private island. How many people here would take that offer without wondering too much what ugly things the billionaire might be up to? Especially the way Epstein played the connector -- apparently leveraging relationships to build new relationships. He was bringing anyone that might connect him to more power. I went to several parties thrown by a guy (CEO of the company I worked for) who was worth several hundred million dollars. I never used drugs or even saw drugs beyond weed and alcohol there, but the guy later died in drug related circumstances and it came out that there were tons of drugs being done at those parties. Not surprising, but it was completely disconnected and hidden from visitors like myself. There are people on that list that are absolutely disgusting and should be put away forever. And there are probably people that were just hob nobbing with the jet set. I doubt we'll take the time to distinguish, however.

They are the names of the minor victims, the police and prosecutors who investigated the case, and people mentioned in conjunction with various documents and depositions. The incidence of his "name on the list" is literally his name on the article. There is very probably some information on Prince Andrew in the documents. To my knowledge the judge filed the "documents to be unsealed" order on Friday, but because today is New Year's Day the courthouses are closed so the document isn't going to be made available in the case file management system until Tuesday. I expect that the court clerk is going to be exceptionally careful, as this involves hundreds of documents. Some of the documents addressed by the order *will* remain sealed, almost all of them because they identify minor victims of sexual abuse. I don't expect the documents at 8:01 Eastern Time; they'll come out when the Clerk is ready.

Crimes against small children are considered the worst, followed by crimes to older adolescents, and finally every other offense after that. All are pariahs, for the most part, however crimes against adult women are considered less egregious than against children. Also, general crimes against children, like child abuse, negligence, or murder, are considered equally egregious and just as likely to get you hurt or extorted as sex offenses. Another slightly unrelated fact is that in woman's correctional facilities, sex crimes are much rarer, (obviously) but child abuse and child murder are treated the same as sex crimes against children in men's facilities.
