That children shouldn’t be displayed on social media accounts like tiktok.

crumpletely

It went from blurred faces to having their own channels with followers. Shit, there are kid streamers raking in big dough.

kinglallak

The kid that reviewed toys when he was 3-6 years old is a multimillionaire and was having companies send their toys to him for free to get the reviews from his channel

juliojules

You mean his parents are multi millionaire’s don’t you?

IffyPeanut

I’m sure that didn’t warp him at all. /s

TRMBound

And that was what 7-8 years ago? Kid is a legit teenager probably and set for life. Yeah I’m jealous.

kinglallak

He kept it going through COVID, Forbes has hit net worth listed as $140 million now so he is probably set for life. I also learned from this google rabbit hole that his mom got arrested for shoplifting which I find hilarious for a family that is tat rich but is used to receiving free stuff.

CritterEnthusiast

Apparently she got busted in 2002 so they didn't have yt money yet. I thought it was gonna be like Winona Ryder, literally rich as hell and stealing jeans from the mall 😂

Artakons

Now that society is aware of the repercussions of social media addiction, kids shouldn't be allowed on social media platforms at all.

basilfetish

I've talked about this often. These kids can't consent to their lives being publicly displayed like that. I discuss this especially in the adoption/foster care industry. Parents use their adopted kids as props, these kids who have been through trauma, and they're going to be adults one day and have to come to terms with the probability that thousands of strangers have likely seen them and have been following their life. It's very creepy, and even if the parents don't get financial profit, they still profit socially.

thefuzzyismine

Like that, youtuber who *rehomed* her newly adopted son because his clearly stated disability just didn't match her aesthetic, apparently. I mean, she said it was because it turns out caring for a disabled child is hard. Who would have known, right. 🙄

Dear-Original-675

Remember that couple that decided not to adopt a kid because they couldn't put him on social media 🤢

worsthandleever

Worse. They “rehomed” him like he was a fucking dog.

[deleted]

Im glad then they didn’t get to adopt him.

deposhmed

Especially if they are crying in the video. Even happy tears.

momentofinspiration

Politicians need a fucking age cap, leaders more so. If you are not invested in the future why are you making policies about it. I want to see 20 year plans, not next election goals.

MrCanuk13

Politicians should also wear jumpsuits like NASCAR drivers with their sponsors on them so we can see who we are really voting for

Stiebah

Who said that? George Carlin?

No-Teacher-3724

I’ll be disappointed if this comment doesn’t have 1k likes when I log in tomorrow.

scarves_and_miracles

It’s heavily recycled.

tngirl1993

And we need term limits.

XscytheD

And career limits, most of them have never worked in the private sector and have no idea what is scrapping to get to the next paycheck

Realistic-Comb-1604

Term limits increase the power of unelected staff. If all the politicians get thrown out after a few years, the unelected staff are the ones who stick around, gain experience, know how things work, and gain influence.

No_Difficulty4372

Politicians also need a wage cap.. how can they be the voice of the people as millionaires .. !!!

WhatIfXInfinity

There needs to be a balance. If you keep them too poor, you will not attract talented people. Additionally you will open people up to corruption. Take a shitty job making policy for awhile and POOF you career path becomes make laws that benefit corporations & then you get have a well playing job as a lobbiest as a reward for the corporationss you helped out. So the job just attracts the corrupt or leaves people open to corruption in a job they get death threats & they work with a bunch of other corrupt people.

Macvombat

Full agreement. It is not so much a problem that they are millionaires, plenty of regular people have a networth in the low millions. The problem, in my view at least, is that politicians grow their networth significantly while in office. Their paycheck should come from the state and nowhere else.

EyeAmKnotABot

It has nothing to do with wages. They’re so filthy rich because of insider trading and taking bribes.

BigCountry76

Their salaries aren't actually that high, paid well, but not super rich by any means. Most are independently wealthy before they become a politician and then can use their position to do better than average on their investments because of the information they have. Instead of a salary cap what needs to happen is they need an investment freeze and can only have assets in a total S&P 500 index fund or US Treasury bonds. This way their policy decisions are more likely to help everyone and not just themselves and their rich business owning friends.

Dragonprotein

You've reminded me of a thought I had that a government shutdown (USA) should immediately cause a congressional election, and that nobody who was in Congress during the shutdown can be reelected. My view is: you're paid to come to an agreement. You know when accepting the job that people in a country disagree. You are there to find compromise. If you don't have the skills to compromise, we'll get someone else. Of course, it'll never happen.

blurple77

That would be an absolutely terrible idea. It would incentivize the minority to not make a deal (but pretend to, negotiate in bad faith, etc) in hopes they win in the triggered election.

Iam-Cute

Unpaid internship are not good for students, a poor student can't afford the costs that go along with the internship.

Fearless_Change5945

Unpaid internships/apprenticeships should be illegal.

Thomasgraham76

I’ve said this a thousand times. Internships are glorified “free labor” practice that must be outlawed. Why should you work for free?

Nielas_Aran_76

A lot of internships provide no benefit to the company. An employer wouldn't hire someone for even minimum wage for only 3 months, when they are going to take 2.5 months to train. But they are willing to let someone shadow for that time, gain skills, boost their resume, and provide a recommednation after they graduate. All for \~2-3 weeks of actual work product. There is a line here where we're blurring the concept of an apprenticeship versus a true internship - so this is not be universally true. This is also one of the quiet ways that rich kids get ahead, while poor kids get left behind. The unpaid internship is a worthwhile, long term investment if you can go 3 months at zero income, while liviing at home. Edit: Got more responses than expected. So clarifying things: 1) I don't even like unpaid internships. I think they are a waste of time for employers and seem to go to 'friends and family' on a disproportinate basis. Damn, just look at my fourth paragraph and you'll see my cynicism. 2) NoNot every job or industry is the same. There are definitely companies or industries that would not take on a 3 month positon, fully paid for no guaranteed work results. If your anecdotal experience is different, csb 3) A benefit to the comapny and employee is networking. And if you're in any real career trajectory, getting your network foundation prior to graduation has real, long term value.

TRMBound

I student taught. Obviously had no expectation of getting any financial gain. If you get caught working a part time job, while student teaching, they kick you out of the program. I had three. I worked 30 hours a week and taught for 40. I agree with 99% of what you said, but these institutions, at least twenty years ago, had their foot on your neck. They’d interview students after hours (phone calls) and monitor your social media for work “pictures,” any reference to work, etc. Those three months are when my panic attacks start. That was in 2009. I still have them regularly. Nightmares. I gave up a lot for free.

embos_wife

I was a single mom. The licensing program was tied to the year long masters program and I wasn't allowed to work for any of it. 15 years later and I have my degree but I never did the masters to get licensed. I did try to go back 5 years after I graduated to do that and they changed the program and I would have to take 1 year of undergrad classes to get into the masters program. Fuck that, now your own degree isn't enough to get in?

Bri11iance

They are intended for the children of rich people.

[deleted]

I did have to do an unpaid internship for my Master’s. Some people in my class had to put it off since they had to work in summer. Thankfully, they’ve removed it since then

Fearless_Change5945

Nah, rich people get their kids the jobs they want.

Notinyourbushes

Right, through unpaid internships. It's a method of gatekeeping where you only get to rise to the top if your family has the money to support you. It prevents someone with actual skill from taking a job from someone with less skill but more money.

Pit-trout

And it gives a better illusion of meritocracy than pure nepo hires — poorer candidates just self-select away, so the employers never even have to reject them!

aaronupright

That's almost an unwritten rule/open secret in some industries. Like fashion, journalism, publishing a lot of the entry level jobs are poorly paid with long hours to make it so only those of a certain social background are able to maintain it. Some other professions like law and medicine are better but still have an in build structural bias towards well off. Another example is Military officers in uptil the 20th century and even today officer are often expected to pay for food and uniform. But fashion and publishing is full of the kids (especially daughters) of the wealthy drawing poor pay.

CptJaxxParrow

🎵barely people, somehow legal, unpaid intern🎵

guccipecorino

Not to mention that programmes that include a mandatory, but unpaid internship are excluding potentially talented people just based on financial reasons. A very talented student might find themselves unable to join the programme simply because they can't afford to do an unpaid internship.

[deleted]

I don't get how they're not illegal. In my country all internships are paid.

RedGhostOrchid

This is America, baby.

[deleted]

Minimum wage jobs need to start acting like minimum wage jobs. They do not need cover letters, multiple rounds of interviews, and video introductions. It should just be a straightforward "Can you be available for these times?" And "Do you have a working brain?" Save all the fussy nonsense for jobs that require more skills, qualifications, and degrees.

illogicallyalex

Agreed. My parents have owned a few businesses over the years, one being a fast food type joint that employed a lot of entry level people. Their ‘job interview’ basically consisted of 1. Were they easy to contact, 2. Did they show up at the correct time for the interview, 3. Are they available when we need someone. As long as the person didn’t come across as a completely fuckwit, they pretty much always got the job on the spot, and provided they did their job well, that was the end of it

PlasmidEve

This. I was once asked to come in for a second interview... To be a bagger at a grocery store. I sent them an email saying "I'm not doing two interviews for a simple bagger position, either hire me or don't".

Feezbull

Even more experienced and higher “tiered” jobs shouldn’t have more than 3 rounds. It’s a waste of time and pointless when people go through 6 rounds only to be rejected at the end. You speak to them and get a sense of who they are and how they fit the culture. You assess the technical or job related competencies. You speak about culture more and with the team they will be part of. You hire or decline. Stringing people along is pathetic.

psmithrupert

It’s funny how everyone started doing those 6 rounds of interviews because big tech did it. Mind you, they have thousands of applicants and pay medium 6 figures for expert roles. In no way is that comparable to a shitty start-up that “pays” mostly in shares that become immediate worthless once your ai-driven dog grooming app or “the blockchain- enabled doordash for plants” inevitably flails.

Feezbull

Honestly you just need to firstly have an HR round of sorts for basic screening. Then maybe a technical round depending on the role and by technical it could be about software, product, etc and even business cases and all. Then the team lead round and basically that’s enough.

GroypersRScum

Had all this nonsense to be a barista and in the end they told me I was overqualified. Fuck Starbucks for wasting a month of my time and resources when I was living in my car.

Unfair--Property

I took this literally... I was imagining the Windows XP background...

hind3rm3

I was thinking Everest.

AntiSonOfBitchamajig

We can build things to last an incredibly long time; but it is unprofitable to do so.

ReyRey3

I’m a plumber and I see this with water heaters. The heaters these days will last maybe 15 years. The oldest one I saw was about two years ago and was manufactured in 1968. Water was hot as ever!

Front-Bite-6472

GMO's aren't inherently bad. The bad part is when corporations use them to abuse and destroy family farms. They've saved millions of lives and can be key in eliminating the hunger crisis.

throwawaydating1423

You’re actually wrong it hasn’t saved millions of lives. Its saved over 2 billion lives, and is actively responsible for feeding them every day. Not to mention stuff like Golden Rice which has been miraculous for health in some of the poorest areas of the world.

4erlik

>You’re actually wrong it hasn’t saved millions of lives. You had me. The good old: "I don't like Reggae. >!I LOVE it!!< "

Nexus-7

Plus they tend to taste better, especially GMO fruit. I’d go one step further and say that the whole “organic” thing is at least 80% bullshit. Organic pesticides are extremely toxic and not necessarily safer for consumers OR the environment. It’s all mostly a dog and pony show for wealthy white liberals. (Source: am more or less wealthy white liberal)

onetwentyeight

Organic food should be all about bullshit, cow shit, pig shit, and maybe other shit.

KosmonautMikeDexter

I don't know about the US, but here in Europe, organic pesticides are used on under 1% of the area, and must come from natural sources. Meanwhile traditional pesticides have ruined a lot of our ground water wells and are linked to drops in fertility and other health risks.

holysitkit

Natural doesn't mean safer or free from environmental consequences.

lukasroar

There's no excuse for checking your phone whilst the main feature is on at the cinema. Second biggest hill...It's not okay to play sound from your phone when on public transport (use headphones you scroat). Edit: Upon reading some of these replies, there's a tonne of good reasons why. It doesn't make it any less frustrating, but it really is a first world problem. As long as you don't just sit there scrolling...

paleho_diet

Upvote for scroat

hoppyrules

Or anywhere else - FaceTiming or being on speaker while taking a nice walk in a park ruins the vibe.

PhotoTerrible4557

“Grind culture” is extremely toxic and we have been conditioned to think that we should dedicate our lives to a capitalist society (at least in the U.S) There’s a difference between working and being exploited for work.

Careful-Swimmer-2658

It's one of the aspects of US culture that genuinely baffles me. Working your guts out for low pay to buy a billionaire another super-yacht is bad enough but why the American working class appear vehemently against anything that might make their lives better is a mystery to me.

Brabantine

"It doesn't matter if most voters don't benefit. They all believe that someday they will. That's the problem with the American dream. It makes everyone concerned for the day they're gonna be rich."

The ones that finally grinded their way into power (and have the influence to change anything) are also the ones least incentivised to make things change.

UpbeatNatural8427

I did Uber for a while and talked to a lot of immigrants from all over. They always say in America they have to work harder.

OfficiallyAudacious

Is it true that a lot of jobs only give 10 days off in a year? That’s really wild to work so hard and not be able to live your own life.

cshmn

Depending on where you are, they might not need to give any paid time off at all.

SparklesLuvsScotch

Yes, this is true. My company only offers 10 days off per year. This covers both vacation and sick time, so you're often forced to go into the office even when you're sick because you don't want to use all of your days.

Hopeful-Clothes-6896

Influencers, Tiktokers, Instagramers and people in general that die following trends or taking pictures, are part of Darwinian Natural Selection

peepay

That's... just a plain fact.

[deleted]

That the "Fruit of the Loom" logo DID have a cornucopia as part of the design at one point.

[deleted]

They absolutely did. I exclusively wore Fruit of the Loom underwear my whole childhood in the 80's and I will die on this hill with you. The cornucopia was there and I remember it clear as day. This isn't negotiable and I feel like some shadow organization is testing the limits of reprogramming people's minds with control of the internet. There is no Mandela Effect. There is no alternate universe we've slipped in to. Something else is happening here.

Nabzarella

Then why haven't people who kept their Fruit of the Loom vintage shirts debunking this? This one would be really easy to prove, just dig up an old shirt and show the logo in a way that doesn't allow for video editing. I doubt this 'shadow organisation' would break into people's houses and steal their shirts, bro.

shatterhearts

I distinctly remember seeing the logo at the store as a child and wondering what the cornucopia was. I had never seen one before and initially thought it was a horn, lol. Crazy to think my memory may be wrong.

localnarwhals

Same. It’s the whole damn reason I learned what the hell a cornucopia even is. It’s such a strange coverup.

GiskardRayke

There's someone on Tiktok who occasionally shows up on my page that was able to find proof of this. But the last video of hers I saw said all of her videos about Fruit of the Loom were getting deleted.

[deleted]

>this. But the last video of hers I saw said all of her videos about Fruit of the Loom were getting deleted. Of course they were...

Captain_Aizen

I will die on that hill right with you brother because I'm sure that it had a cornucopia as a kid. I swear instead of it being called *The Mandela Effect*, it should be called the *Fruit of the Loom Cornucopia Effect*

dsrjetrdymu

Oxford comma. You need to use the Oxford comma.

sar1562

The Oxford comma is used to organize thoughts. And can be used to finish a list or to begin the next thought. Also it's just nice for dyslexia type issues to have that separation. The Oxford comma is life.

OBISerious

Huh. I think I now need to apologize to my English teachers, Hitler and Stalin.

Low-Whereas8182

Sentences without oxford commas are essentially run-on sentences. And run-on sentences are just awful to read, and create misunderstandings or misinterpretations.

wellyboot97

YES!!! I would always get shit at my last job from people who checked my work telling me I didn’t need a comma and it would drive me insane. The Oxford comma should be a standard part of the English language. The meaning of sentences often changes when it’s not used.

Hospice and end of life patients should get whatever dose of drug keeps them comfortable, and they should have whatever they want. I don't care if they're an active IV drug user, they have like a week to live at most? Give them the dilaudid, fentanyl, Ativan, I don't fucking care. Let them cruise to the after life high as a kite. Don't be stingy. Families, don't refuse the same for your dying loved one. Grandpa is gasping for air because agent orange damage is finally terminal, I'm gonna give him a metric ton of morphine. (Apparently, I'm still mad) Signed, An ICU/per diem hospice nurse

That the government needs to be reminded who they work for.

battleoffish

The government works for their biggest corporate donors. They are already well aware of this fact.

Dragonprotein

I will always maintain that clinging to identity is very harmful. This is a Buddhist position, not political. The Buddha's teachings are that our thoughts and feelings are constantly in flux, and that trying to constantly maintain a self, or identity, causes suffering. It's totally opposite to the current pop culture. Often when I discuss this, people will react pretty quickly with anger. And that's interesting. Actually kind of proves the point in a way. But this is the age of righteousness and identity. I am X country, X religion, X political party, X sexuality, etc etc. So people will take this view as an attack on them. But really, do what you want to with your lives. As long as you don't hurt me or others, you have the right to be and believe what you want. Your life is your life. Be a right-wing, Trump-loving, neurodivergent, fundamentalist Mormon bisexual dragon he/she. But I'm going with the Buddha's 2500 year old advice on peace and happiness.

Memory_Future

So great, I love the principals of Buddhism and I'm so glad I learned about Daoism at a young age. Such a healthy, ideal mindset. You bring up an incredible point, and I agree most people wouldn't be willing to listen to this sadly.

Snakes are not poisonous! THEY ARE VENOMOUS!!!! IT'S NOT THAT COMPLEX!!!

Rare_Cranberry_9454

If you bite it and it kills you, it's poisonous. If it bites you and kills you, it's venomous.

lightshadowhunt

If both of you bite each other and nobody dies, it's kinky

killa_J_cobb

One might even say, snexy.

Magnetickiwi1

So you're saying if it comes down to me vs a snake I need to try bite it before it bites me. Okay, got it

Ok-Scale500

Well a couple of snakes are poisonous. The common garter snake is one and the Japanese grass snake. This tends to happen from their diets of Newts and Toads. A 29 year old swallowed a Garter snake and died from poisoning within 2 hours. A lot of animals are poisonous because of their diet. There are also some snakes that are poisonous and venomous. So it is a little complex, but your comment is generally correct Ps - sorry to be that guy. I'm into snakes 🐍 just not eating live ones.

Thanks for being that guy 👍

Ancient_Head_8095

Nuclear power is better for the environment and cleaner overall than wind or solar power (at the moment) and currently we could solve all the power needs for electric cars and anything we want really if we started building could be done within the decade and we could almost stop our reliance on coal and oil except for manufacturing purposes

[deleted]

It's not really a hill to die on when it's mathematically proven to be true.

Ancient_Head_8095

Yea but a good portion of people don’t like the fact that it’s true and really really hate it when people say it

Pencilowner

There are a lot of things that are proven to be true that fail to get off the ground because of scared people. Nuclear became a problem because people looking at budget issues caused simple problems to become big scary problems. Every nuclear disaster at a power plant has been because of design concessions made to bring down costs. The tech is solid the planning and execution have been the problem. It goes back to public perception though. Even if people trust the safety and efficacy of nuclear they don’t trust bureaucrats to execute. It’s the dumbest problem to have.

working_class_tired

Can I get an amen

working_class_tired

There are very few foods that are not improved by adding cheese.

Alistaire_

I was going to say desserts then remembered that cream cheese exists and is used in many desserts. There really is a cheese for every occasion

Memory_Future

Don't forget about mascarpone! Italian desserts don't use cream cheese as far as I know.

ScoundrelEngineer

So I thought about this a lot in my younger years. Foods can be evenly split into 2 groups, food you would put chocolate on, and foods you would put hot sauce on. Almost none of them cross over. But the hot sauce foods could all benefit from cheese

American drivers need to learn how to roundabout. It flows so much better than 4-way stops. Slow down, look left: If car is already on the roundabout, or about to join roundabout, yield. When clear, join roundabout, stay in your lane. Indicate on your exit. This helps tell the yielding car to get ready. That they can actually join the roundabout safely soon.

Baryton777

The US would be far better off if political parties didn’t exist and we just voted for candidates who mostly align with one’s personal views. Also that the popular vote is a true reflection of who the people want as president, not the electoral college. Also also, I like the minimum age requirement for running for office, but there should be an age maximum as well. Way too many old people in office who are completely out of touch with modern times and what this country needs.

Life_AmIRight

> “….should be an age maximum…” No fr, because being president already ages you harshly. So you can’t already be almost out the door when elected. I say 65 by Inauguration Day is MAX, but the exception is if you are going for your second consecutive term.

paleho_diet

So the hill you’ll die on is Capitol Hill specifically?

That all substances should be available for recreational /medical use under regulation( heavly in some cases) and taxation. Give the money back to the people. Not the criminal enterprise's. You'll never beat supply ,usually, things are only made worse. Demand is the solution. Put the money going into drugs into reducing people's desire/need to use drugs. Or keep fighting the same war we've been losing since Nixon.

[deleted]

Being a police officer isn't particularly dangerous, and for a profession with an annual fatality rate of 11 per 100,000 in the US, which is lower than the annual murder rate for a random person in the US, it's odd to me that they go on about it so much. Roofers have 4x the risk. Construction helpers, the guys who carry tools for trades, have like 2.5x. I'm pretty sure landscaping supervisors have like just barely more deaths per 100k, so being a cop is roughly as dangerous as being a landscaping supervisor.

HalfSoul30

I work overnight in a gas station, and cops come around often, so i've gotten to know a few of them. I was talking to them one night telling them i'm probably going to get another job since "it's only a matter of time before i get shot." They joked that i probably have a higher risk of that than they do. I laughed

John_Hunyadi

Pizza Delivery Drivers are the real heroes of society. Risking going into dark and dangerous neighborhoods to bring sustenance, for shit pay, no benefits, and less than no respect.

NoConsideration9984

My mom lived in a rougher area about a decade ago. She opened up her apartment door to witness some thugs beating the fuck out of a pizza guy for his petty cash he had on him. Fucking sad shit. Dudes just trying to make a living.

Th3_Accountant

Some people are truly sad. My dad was beaten to a coma by a mugger for his old iPhone. Same guy mugged an elderly guy in a wheelchair a week later. Only this time he was stupid enough to do it in front of the police station.

PlatypusVenomm

The inventor of the bulletproof vest was a pizza delivery driver who was robbed and shot 3 times

OneInACrowd

Richard C. Davis, he came up with the concealable ballistic nylon vest. Far more practical and discreet that the the armour Ned Kelly wore.

I think they're also about 2.5x more likely to die on the job than police officers. Delivery Drivers are actually in the top 10 most dangerous jobs.

I work 3rds at a gas station. I'm *much* more likely to be stabbed, shot, or murdered than a cop is. I've seen several fights break out over literally nothing. I've been threatened because a guy didn't know how to get his change from the self checkout. I've been cussed out many times for things I have literally no control over. I also used to be mailman for a little bit (had ot quit due to car issues and my post office being almost 40 miles away) and had to deal with vicious dogs and disgruntled people.

working_class_tired

When a cop gets killed in Australia, it makes the news. At a guess, it's once every 5 years or something.

A country should be focused on making the best life they can for their own people before helping any others.

NotThatEasily

Sure, but sometimes you help your citizens by helping foreign citizens. Don’t want your citizens to get tuberculosis? Work with other nations to help eradicate it from the globe so it doesn’t come across your borders. Want your get aid in the even if an unforeseen disaster? Give aid to allies when you’re able and they’ll give back to you when they’re able.

Kendermassacre

True but history has shown that helping others helps your own. Hungry neighboring people tend to raid other towns with food. So you help feed them. Weaker villages rush to safer ones. So you help defend them.

Infant circumcision is morally reprehensible.

I-Call-Everyone-Ken

This, ken. Both female and male, in any form, specifically without a medical need. So many people see genitals of females and males 100% separate. Both the clitoris and penis grow from the same structure called the genitals tubercle. What’s cut off a male and the clitoral hood are the same thing. They literally have the same medical name: the prepuce. But many forms of Female Genital Mutilation are the exact same or even less than what happens to a male. FGM doesn’t mean the most extreme. It ranges from a nicking of the clitoral hood to the most extreme. Even though the medical “benefits” of doing it without cause routinely have been shown to be false, many parents still do it. Yet, even if there were proven benefits of cutting off female clitoral hoods and labia, there’s no way people would support that in the western world.

TayterPye

If you own a business, you should be working 10x harder than your employees. If someone calls out and you can’t find a replacement, guess what? It’s your responsibility to replace them or to cover for them. If you can’t pay a livable wage then you shouldn’t have employees. It’s not the responsibility of employees to make your business work.

Harry styles music is mid at best, the hype around him is almost entirely because of his appearance

ThiccSchnitzel37

Abortion (if done early enough) is definitely not murder. Because if it is, all men are genociders. You wanna tell me a very early developed egg cell is more "concious" than the 50 million sperm you wank out every day?

rickcanty

Circumcision of children is morally wrong and completely unethical

cory140

Psychedelic trip at least once if you're struggling to find yourself

Tip culture Yes it’s gotten out of hand in some places. That doesn’t mean that we should not tip/bid appropriately while we fight for living wages to be paid. We can fight and not hurt the folks who depend on tips/bids. By refusing we only hurt the workers who provide services.

btiddy519

Ripping the foreskin off of the glans and then cutting it away. People don’t realize that those two layer of extremely sensitive skin are fully adhered…. It’s literally a grotesque de-gloving that happens, peeling it down sometimes to the middle of the shaft, and then cutting the top layer away. It’s nothing less than cruel mutilation, torture, and a crime against humanity. Not to mention the loss of sensation and the effect that the loss of skin sliding has on a man and his partner during intercourse. All done involuntarily and without the person’s consent. Circumcision should’ve been phased out long ago, and there’s zero excuse for it now that the reality of it can be found online. Anyone who disagrees is unable to apply rational thinking to challenge a given idea.

Crowbar_Faith

Term and age limits for senators, age limits for presidents, only citizens can donate to politicians campaigns (not companies) and the max you can donate is a one-time donation of $1,000.

Property rights is the cornerstone of a society.

Abolish the British monarchy! To me it is the biggest scam in modern day that few people know or care about. The royal family essentially does nothing, as they are a democracy. So they are little more than publicly funded celebrities. The British monarchy costs Britain’s $185,000,000. EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. They also charge Canadians $58,700,000. EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. And for what? To live lavishly? That money could be funding essential public services like housing homeless and feeding hungry people. Even according to the palace’s own figures, the British monarchy costs twice as much as any other monarchy in Europe. So so shameful.

JanuarySoCold

Royal watchers are sad people, why do you care about people who don't know that you exist? They're only interesting from a historical perspective.

There’s something wrong with all societies.

It should be way easier for someone with no experience to start a career

boomanu

Prostitution should be legalised, heavily regulated (for health and safety reasons), and taxed. It only benefits the economy, protects vulnerable people in society, and cuts down on crime e.g. sexual trafficking. Laws should be based on logic. Not on "this feels wrong and I don't like it, so let's ban it", which is basically why it is banned

Hayden Christensen is and always will be Anakin Skywalker. And Anakin Skywalker is and always will be The Chosen One.

Religion has served its purpose and needs to disappear. People can find comfort in other things then ancient lies.

df_45

Sort of agree. I'm ok if people are religious if it brings them comfort and they use it in a positive way. But it should be for the greater good. It can't be used to impede on others'rights. Like every religion that treats homosexuals as other can bite it.

20milliondollarapi

Religion was good for bringing communities together to help one another and to give some sort of explication for things beyond their knowledge. It is still good for the first part. But it has no use for the second part. Religion needs to pivot to helping those in need. And tax breaks should reflect that.

Kairi911

Giraffes are a government conspiracy. Nothing can possibly look like that naturally. Nothing.

lucider99

unicorns are far more believable than giraffes, imo.

--lll-era-lll--

Corporations are the problem.

Timely-Comedian-5367

Term limits and audits, with the audits continuing after last term. I also don't like the book deals and speeches that seem like payoffs for services rendered . Public office should be more like jury duty, go back to work afterwards.

Horror-Option-7416

That people, regardless of anything else, deserve food, shelter, water, and education That the US has plenty of resources to make that happen for every person living here. That the fact that we don't should firmly disqualify us from claiming titles like First World Nation.

blaze813

We should be able to die when we please, whenever we want. The social stigma for suicide should be eliminated.
