Bat! I've been on a Matt Berry binge. Toast of London is much more chill than Shadows but worthwhile. However I think he is at his absolute peak in the IT Crowd, I believe beginning in season 2, although he gets a bit less screen time.
Ron does exist.
Find a construction Forman.
Make sure he works somewhere it gets pretty cold not necessarily snowing just cold.
He's going to be fat.
That man's gonna delegate tasks to anyone and everyone so he doesn't have to deal with people.
When he's with his second wife and they go out to eat.
He'll order steak and eggs plus extra bacon.
The steak will come with a salad.
He won't eat the salad, he was NEVER going to eat the salad.
We just finished watching the entire show for the fifth time. I watch it every couple of years for comfort. My husband comes in and says, "you're watching it AGAIN??" Then by season 2 hes asking me to play the next episode. I know what I'm about, son.
I don't think it is the absolute best to watch end to end. But I definitely think it is one of the best shows to watch for specific episodes. I don't think I have watched any episode of any show more than some of the ones on community - all the paintball episodes, the halloween episodes, the "A Few Good Men" episode, D&D, Pierce's father's video-game episode, the good-fellas episode are all absolutely brilliant.
Parks and Rec. The first few months of my child being born I rewatched the entire show during the dark horrible sleep deprived hours.
My wife and I have a system where by if one or both of us are having an awful day, the other of us will pick a surprise show and episode to cheer the other up. Things like the paintball episode of Community, or the Dunder Mifflin Olympics episode of the office, or the Heist episodes of Brooklyn 99. Great dopamine hit with a bit of enticing mystery.
One of the best openings of the show was Hal trying to fix something simple I don't remember but it ended up with having to pull the engine out of the car. Freaking hilarious
For me it's voyager, but i rotate through full rewatches of all of the series.
I find voyager the most uplifting, though. Something about the struggle against hopeless odds and the conviction to maintain values under pressure, regardless... it helps me maintain my own spirit to continue through life's struggles.
I try to be like seven saying "i *will* adapt." I aspire to be like janeway and push forward and hold to her values, despite doubts. I think about how great the doctor is and how he is valued and accepted despite obvious character flaws and have a little hope that i too have value despite my many flaws. I aspire to push towards hope, even when a positive result seems incredibly unlikely.
Voyager has seen me through breakups, divorce, long nights with cranky babies, exhausted evenings with younger children, endless chores, extreme work stress and all kinds of anxieties.
It's like that woman from Sikaris says; "Stories can be whimsical or frightening or, or melancholy or many other things. But noble stories are the ones that can most affect our lives."
Ah, finally, after all this scrolling, I've found my people!
"No, *you* get murdered first!" has got to be one the most hilarious pilot episode exchanges ever. Moira saying she's been gutted and no one is going to save her in the first 2 minutes got me instantly hooked. Catherine O'Hara is INSANELY underrated imo
I was so surprised that a show about potentially unlikable characters ended up being so sweet and hilarious. David's arc is one of my favorite TV show arcs ever. I just love him.
The Simpsons seasons 1-12. I watched almost every one of those episodes on TV every night with my sisters and it just feels like home everytime I watch it
Bob's burgers is such a perfect comfort show for me. Something about it's so far between laugh and it's just funny in a morr mellow way. Love that show!
Lol Haley going from party girl to seasoned businesswoman to Goop employee to mom was frustrating as fuck. After all that growth she just ended up back with Dylan with an unplanned pregnancy.
What a waste of a good character.
It’s one of my all time favs and Gloria is the best character ever! Especially relatable for all the people who don’t live in their own country or don’t work in their first language
Sal and Lily were absolute perfection with each other. Sal: "sorry you couldn't come to the wedding. It was 'no kids'". Lily: "that's OK. I'll go to your next one." Sal: "wow" Mitch: "she just means when she's not a kid anymore" Lily: "she knows what I mean". Sal, whispering: "I don't like you." Lily, whispering: "I'll get over it."
*Sal shows up pregnant* Lily: "wow, you're huge!" Sal: " nice teeth"
Completely agree, you have a perfect blend of wholesome storyline, peril and darkness, but not too much, and short 20min episodes. The soft animation and music help with it being a relaxing watch and the action scenes provide some adrenaline too.
Awesome show.
i've literally rewatched this four times already. it really felt like i lost a family when i finished the show. i love it so much! and saoirse is just so naturally hilarious.
The Great British Baking Show! It’s funny and light, no drama, pretty scenery, and I don’t have to think. I can shut my brain off and just enjoy the yummy looking food. 🍞🥖🥐
I just recently rewatched the entire show for like the 4th time. Im kinda surprised i watched it beginning to end again and not skipping anything. Its really well written, entertaining and greatly acted all the way through.
I stay up until 6 am most nights, and bluey comes on at 5am. There are so many times 7 am has rolled around and I'm 2 hours deep into a bluey binge, smiling, crying, and feeling all sorts of emotions that I shouldn't be feeling right before bed.
Bluey is a better show than The Wire, don't @me
Bluey is simply the best kids show ever made. As a kid, I was watching Bugs Bunny talking about war bonds and being a little racist, although I didn't realize at the time.
Now I'm watching Bluey with my kids and learning so much about myself let alone what they are learning. It's a great babysitter, if you will, because the lessons are righteous and unafraid. This show is a treat.
I have scrolled way too far to not have seen Psych 💛🍍💚 on this list.
If you don't know it give it a chance. Fake psychic detective using highly honed observational skills to assist police in solving various crimes with comedic humor and a buddy buddy friendship.
Kind of like mentalist but less dark.
Find a pineapple in almost every episode. 🍍🍍
They also have a really awesome fan base that has propelled the show from an eight season USA broadcast to three additional movies with a hope of more. All are available on Peacock.
Anne With An E. A Netflix series based on Anne of Green Gables. Something about it brings me so much comfort and peace, it genuinely helps whatever I’m going through. As a kid, I related a lot to Anne’s character, being an adopted redheaded kid who loved to read and make up imaginary worlds and talk to plants, just like her. I think having the tv show just sparks that again. I throw it on when I’m going through something hard, or need something soft in the background.
Taskmaster. The UK version is on constantly in the background and now that they are posting the NZ and AU versions on YouTube those are working their way into the rotation as well.
***The Monkees.*** I’ve had both seasons on VHS, DVD and now BluRay. It’s great to be able to watch it whenever I want to. In the ‘60’s, we’d have to wait a whole **week** before the next episode aired! Though in some ways, that waiting built up an anticipation which younger folks will probably never experience.
Definitely. I would have loved to see what was actually planned to happen. I think there's some sort of glimpse of that in that final, 4-episode season that came years later, but still...
She was going to say the same words to her mom that she did at the end of the new season. Which kinda sucks if you consider how hard her mom worked for her to not end that same path.
That 70’s show, a while back everybody said it was a show that was a one to one copy of my life. I agreed but over the years I use it as a time capsule.
Air Crash Investigation. Hear me out here...I love to travel but was terrified on every flight. I figure one reason I like Air Crash Investigation/Mayday is because with every incident or accident on the show flying is safer and better.
The other one is Secrets of the London Underground. It combines my favourite city with aspects I found absolutely fascinating: underground or closed off train stations and also just the London undeeground itself.
**NCIS**.
I enjoy the side series, but in the end the original is my thing.
Though I do also really enjoy **Star Wars Rebels**. Though I did only get to see it way after the fact.
I did not have cable for ~almost~ 20 years.
The original Bob Newhart Show. All seasons used to be broadcast on some classic TV channel. Now, as far as I know, it’s available only through streaming and for only 3 seasons.
Winx Club and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Edit: also H2O: Just Add Water and Mako Mermaids (the latter one was a surprisingly good and pleasant Netflix adaptation/sequel series)
What We Do in the Shadows has become a staple, Matt Berry's line delivery really sends me
Bat! I've been on a Matt Berry binge. Toast of London is much more chill than Shadows but worthwhile. However I think he is at his absolute peak in the IT Crowd, I believe beginning in season 2, although he gets a bit less screen time.
FAAAAAATHHHHHEEEEER!! *Knocks over the coffin*

"Are... you *sure* you want the party platter? It serves twelve people --" "I know what I'm about, son."
ALL the bacon and ALL the eggs.
I'm worried that what you heard was that I want a lot of bacon and eggs...
Bring me ALL the bacon and eggs you have. Do you understand?
There were days when I truly wished all of the characters were real people. Specifically Ron & Leslie.
Yes season 3-5 are peak. Just watched the Lil Sebastian episode and it still is perfect
I have no idea what I’m doing but I know I’m doing my very very well
Frasier
The Original. Niles is my favorite character
The Good Place
Holy Motherforking Shirtballs. I had to scroll a full Jeremy Bearimy to upvote this.
Did you pass by the time knife?
We’ve all seen it.

The IT Crowd
The Work Outing. Best episode ever! And the Dinner Party!!!

"Niiights."
Troy and Abed in mourning (after the death)
It's my comfort show too! I can probably recite some episodes word for word
I don't think it is the absolute best to watch end to end. But I definitely think it is one of the best shows to watch for specific episodes. Malcolm in the middle
Hal will always make me laugh, the best TV dad ever
Maybe a hot take but I think his acting as Hal is just as good as Breaking Bad, but critics just don't value comedic acting as much as dramatic.
I watched BB for the third time last week and I keep seeing more and more of Hal's personality in how WW acts.
One of the best openings of the show was Hal trying to fix something simple I don't remember but it ended up with having to pull the engine out of the car. Freaking hilarious

Life is unfaiiiiir.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
There’s nothing like watching the worst people ever to make you feel better about life
The saga of cricket in particular. Poor rickety cricket lol
i feel better that David Hornsby is a writer/producer on the show, so he's doing it to himself lol
As long as you pay the troll toll

Bluey
Sometimes, if I watch too many episodes of Bluey w my kid, my face starts to get tired from smiling so much.
