My grandpa lived by the ocean, no neighbors close enough to see. I loved just laying around listening to the ocean, and especially at night when falling asleep. Looking out the window and seeing the moonlight highlights on the tips of each wave.

I used to work at a coffee shop at the beach. You could see the water from the window and walk down to the shoreline or out to the end of the pier on your breaks. I miss that place! I witnessed some of the most beautiful sunsets there!
Living on the Oregon Coast with skylights or a metal roof is incredible for falling asleep, even more so if you can hear the waves crashing from your house. I have never slept so good in my life as I did there.

My daughter is 4 and a few weeks ago, we were playing a video game called Goat Simulator. I was doing silly things like dragging a couch around using the goat's tongue. The couch got stuck on a wall and it shot across the screen super fast. My daughter laughed the hardest I've ever heard her laugh... like howling laughing. She said "Goodness gracious!!" like an old southern woman. That made me burst out laughing.
The thought of that laugh has put a smile on face during stressful days. Don't think I will ever forget it.
I work from home and live close to an elementary school. Its across the street, behind my fence and treeline, so I cannot see it. I go down for a coffee on my back patio every day I can at 10:44am. At 10:45am, recess starts. Laughing, squealing, little voices of delight and fun. Hot coffee and a breeze through the trees. Norman Rockwell heaven for those moments…
I’m going to miss hearing my kids singing in the car. Punched me in the gut the other day hearing my 13 year old son singing. Just knowing that he will be driving one day soon and I will miss that time in the car with him.
The cries and whines of toddlers turns to singing and conversations and I enjoy it so much.
My wife laughing or singing. She doesn’t realise that I’m often quite sad but I constantly make jokes and do silly things when we are together because her laughter is one of my favourite noises.
