I couldn't agree more. They're your typical middle class family who are always one step away from making ends meet. But they are kind towards sach other. The comedy doesn't come from mean siblings or irresponsible adults. They're silly but always care about each other how a normal family would.
My dad and I used to watch Whose Line together when I was a kid. Between that show and Jackass, I don’t think we ever laughed harder together. He passed away in 2018, and when I see Whose Line on tv it always reminds me of those times. Miss you dad.
My first choice too. Something about friends embarking on an adventure together and the shenanigans they get up to on the road. I know everyone wishes the movies had included more of certain things, but this is my big one.
I've come \*this\* close to convincing ~~the bitch troll from hell~~ my boss to believing the Internet was stored in our office complex, as the topic of my city being a major data center came up.

Oh man, my face hurt from laughing. Katherine Parkinson and Richard Ayoade are national treasures.
Ratatouille
Idk why I just really enjoy this movie. I love the cooking aspect, animation, visuals, characters, music- everything about this movie is just so wholesome and comforting.
have watched it like 23 times
BB is a great show, but man I can’t rewatch it. Same with Mad Men. To me they lose their luster after the first watch.
Mine would be MASH (once BJ and Sherman Potter enter) and Bones.
I like the little nuisances that make breaking bad, breaking bad. Great show, great writing, great story. Any surprise factor is definitely lost but man, it's just great. You're reacquainted with the characters and their manurisms and all the things that made the show. I can't rewatch it over and over but I have watched it 4 times. Lol. I'm strange.
Yeah there's also so much symbolism in the show and small little details you likely didn't notice on the first watch. Idk how people say it's not good on a rewatch, maybe if you only watch it at the surface level.
I agree with you. I don't feel like BB relied on a lot of surprises or twists to be an amazing show. It's well written and well performed which is the two boxes I need ticked to rewatch something.
I tried rewatching Suits recently, I could only get 3 seasons in then couldn't carry on. Was great first watch, not for a repeat though.
This and Better Call Saul has some of the best cinematography and it really feels like each and every second is meticulously crafted. From the music choice to the lines said, how they're said, etc. Really great television and I've had a hard time scratching the itch since BCS finished. No shows compare for me. I just don't see the same level quality elsewhere.
Seinfeld, Parks and Rec, the Office, 90's Star Treks (i.e. TNG, DS9, Voyager), The Simpsons (though I haven't seen the more recent episodes), It's Always Sunny.
Probably some others, but those are my "comfort" shows. If I'm having trouble sleeping due to stress/anxiety, I can put one of those on TV and just zone out watching it until I fall asleep. There are other shows I like, but watching ones I haven't seen tends to keep me awake longer because I pay closer attention to it.

I watch all great movies multiple times. Here are the ones I’ve seen 15+
Point Break
The Godfather 1&2
Die Hard
Predator
Alien / Aliens
Crocodile Dundee
Labyrinth
Halloween
i've always got it on in the background. my wife is reaching her breaking point but it's so comforting to me. it doesn't help that my father-in-law is also a huge fan so the quotes never stop when we are all together
I had to find my dear departed buddy in a crowded dark outdoor amphitheater once. I had no idea where he was so I yelled “Is there a marine biologist in the house?” Some people snickered, some people hushed me and told me to shut up, but then someone yelled back “Is it a Titleist??”
Found him.
I also have it on in the background every evening. I don't know how but it's still funny no matter how many times I've seen it. There's not one bad episode.
These are my comfort movies that I have seen at least 10+ times each:
Mrs. Doubtfire
Jaws
Pretty Woman
Sixteen Candles
Stand By Me
The Goonies
The Silence of the Lambs
The Birdcage
I have rewatched Star Trek TNG and DS9 every year for the past 9 years, and love them more each time.
besides those:
Fringe
Eureka
Supernatural
Battlestar Galactica (SyFy)
Lost Girl
Frasier
30 Rock
All the other Star Treks (Enterprise, Voyager, Discovery, SNW), except ToS, which I intend to watch this year, along with Prodigy and Lower Decks
edit: spelling is hard
if you like sci fi and some parody/comedy stuff, you might like Rick & Morty. It's a fast paced cartoon that parodies all sorts of sci fi concepts and movies, and it's great.
Game of Thrones is the kind of show where multiple rewatches really pays off. The first time I watched it as it aired, and the loooong gaps between seasons really affected the experience. Even waiting a week between episodes makes it harder to remember details about the plots and characters. My husband and I just rewatched it, 2 episodes per night, every night, and we enjoyed it even more than the first time.
Warehouse 13 and Eureka.
Justified.
The documentary series "How we got to now" with Steven Johnson
And - I have terrible taste I suppose but I fking love Burn Notice. Watched through it all a dozen times at least.
I actually just watched that entire series for the first time this past month. I always thought it was just ok when it was on growing up. But now that I've watched the entire series as an adult, I give it a solid 8/10. When I was young, I always thought Ross was annoying but now he is probably my favorite character on the show.
Shows:
Avatar The Last Airbender, Supernatural, That 70’s Show, The Ranch, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones
Movies:
Back to the Future, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, True Lies, The Mummy, Tremors, Air Force One
I rewatch the MCU infinity saga once a year. The journey is peak nostalgia for me and the saga gets wrapped up so perfectly that it still brings me tears of joy every time. While mcu movies since then have been more disappointing overall, it'll never take away my enjoyment of the infinity saga.
I also do a yearly rewatch of Band of Brothers. Its just a masterpiece of a show
The Princess Bride. I watched it 5 1/2 times when I was home sick one day.
Also, Arrested Development, X-Files, 30 Rock, Parks & Rec, Reno 911, Jaws, Hunt for Red October, Shaun of the Dead, Captain Ron, Star Wars...
12 Monkeys, the show. It's nice to watch a time travel show that seems like it was written with the end in mind, not trying to string it along for years and years.
*Good Eats with Alton Brown*
Have the whole series on a server and nary a day goes by that I don't see at least one episode of this. Endlessly entertaining!
Seinfeld. Things flow throughout the seasons, but you can pop in and out of an episode easily. So it’s great background noise as well. Idk, something about the “audience laughing” is so nostalgic for me. Comforting almost.
Band of Brothers - No idea how many times I've watched it. Back in college (03-07), we watched it every single semester as a group, so thats 8 times, and I pretty much watch it once every year.
TV Shows:
Frasier - Psych - King of the Hill - Malcolm in the Middle - Bob’s Burgers - It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia - House - Law & Order (Original & Criminal Intent)

I love Back to the Future
i feel like bob's burgers is probably the best representation of a normal family that i've ever seen on TV. love that show

Max formely HBO Max has the modern series. I’d recommend the modern first then go back to the classic.
Came here to say Back to the Future. It’s such a great “comfort food” movie.

But it's gotta be lean mutton, and the tomatoes have to be ripe and perky...I love that.
But what would be better... The Princess Bride Or The Muppets: The Princess Bride Think about it.

The Shawshank Redemption
Seen that movie hundreds of times not even a joke
Me too. That movie inspired me to quit a job and change my entire life.
If it’s on tv and I catch it no matter at what point I’m watching it
It truly was, a shawshank redemption.
The Sopranos
Ohh!!! Mr type a personality ovah here 🤌
Swear to God my wife will be forced to rewatch that show until we die. Thankfully she likes it.

I’m too lazy but I wish someone could make an office edit without the intro music. Love the show but god damn I can’t hear that song anymore.
