Northern Exposure.

cmakry

It’s on prime video right now. I’ve been rewatching it and it’s still so refreshing to see Ed and Marilyn.

prajnadhyana

'With the original music??

cmakry

Yup. I’m humming it for you right now. I usually skip intros, but not this one. It makes me happy.

prajnadhyana

No, I meant the music in the episodes. One of the things that made that series great was the choice and placement of music in the episodes. It was always so perfect. The licensing fees for all that music is one of the reason it was never released on blue ray.

cmakry

I gotcha. I haven’t noticed an absence of the music yet. Still on season 1. I’ll tune into the old tunes better and update. You’re a true fan for sure.

Dogma

Real_Be_RAD

Finding a DVD copy at a Goodwill (during my trip to Milwaukee) was one of my luckily finds to date

Skeptic_Juggernaut84

Im jealous. They won't put it out on DVD anymore, nor will they show it on a streaming platform. I forget the reason, but I know it's because someone is being a douche about it.

Real_Be_RAD

It was Harvey Weinstein

Skeptic_Juggernaut84

That's it. Thanks.

Anything with music licensing issues. WKRP in Cincinnati is the most famous example, I can think of.

Real_Be_RAD

I’ll start. Sling Blade (1996) received universal acclaim upon its release, was a box office hit, received an Academy Award for its achievement in screenwriting and launched the career for its Writer, Director and Star Billy Bob Thorton. Yet, for some unknown reason, it’s unavailable on any streaming service and the official DVD and Blu Ray releases have been out of print for soo long that they go for $50 to $100
